Bought the blue one for less then €60 and received about two weeks ago (only one week from China to Italy). The watch is very nice and keeps perfect time (+ 1s a day), even the strap is pretty usable; for the price it's quite a steal. To be perfect, IMO, it needs to be smaller (35-36 mm), slimmer (use the seagull St17 mechanichal movement and a blind case back) and get rid completely of the second line at 12 or, at least, use a font consistent with Bauhaus Heritage.
Nomos nicely finished front and back but boy Nomos prices high. This is a preferred starting point. Screwdown irrelevant to required function, as is sapphire caseback. Thanks !
A Nomos clone for 70 bucks, that is actually a better watch! YES, I applaud them! In another video, the "chief designer" of Nomos stated their super-large lugs (which make their watches impractical and impossible to wear for many) are part of their design language, and DESPITE them full well knowing about user complaints, they will stay huge, because ... "we are Nomos!" (and that is our identity, so go pfft yourself...)! Seestern just proved the lugs CAN be made much smaller and lead to a much friendlier wear experience, so Nomos and their umpteen thousand price model, that simply snubs their customers, can go and do something nasty to themselves... which they are already doing, if they keep up this attitude! I am German myself, and I cannot stand self declared aristocracy with snobby attitude! LONG LIVE TANDORIO (love mine)! LONG LIVE SEESTERN! LONG LIVE SEA-GULL! LONG LIVE RED STAR! And also long live Glycine, which is one of the very last Swiss watch companies, that does not appear to have a snobby attitude about prices, and I bought 2 of their Airman pieces!
@billsomerset238 I have an old Fuji film camera and a few others. Haven't used film in a while, so the cameras are more of a prop these days 🙂 However, looks like film is doing a kinda come back so maybe I'll use them again... if I find the time 😁 Thank you for watching! 🙂👍
I got one and it's a pretty cool watch, rarely see watches with small seconds hands anymore. The strap is pretty decent but the suede gets dirty pretty quickly and the grey leather just isn't my style so I put a navy blue rubber strap on it and I think it looks great (I got the grey/light blueish dial version)
@@SheshankReddyS Yes. Lange has pretty much this exact design from 1937. Stowa, also from 1937, has a dial layout with 11 full numerals and the 6 cut off by the second hand subdial.
Are you sure L2L is 7mm shorter? Watchgecko claims the Tangente Sport Neomatik 42mm has a L2L of "just" 52mm. Regardless, this is seriously making me want one IF I can get a decent return for my Nomos Tangente (35mm). Superior lug proportions, plus an insane price difference for the same look.
Just bought the blue dial version for $70 including taxes in the last AliExpress sale. A wonderful watch, great to wear and my wife was even prompted to comment on how good it looks.
I don’t think a screw-down crown would make much sense here. It is a dress watch after all, so the crown typically is small which would make it more of a hassle if it needed to be screwed back in. You wouldn’t take it into a pool anyway. What would make sense if this company got their branding strategy straight. Seestern (= starfish) for divers, Sugess for dress pieces.
I don't think every watch should have a screw down crown! Even if rhis watch would have had a screw down crown I don't think any sane person would go swimming with such Fragile lugs. It is clearly a design that works best is the everyday environment not in the extreme ones. A screw down crown is not good if you don't actually need it. It adds unnecessary wear to a part that doesn't actually need it. Other than that a very professional review! Cheers 🍻
I love the design of these watches, and seestern missed an opportunity to make a really great watch. First the diameter, the ideal would be 40 mm. The date is essential. And the screw-down crown too. I shower with my watches, I live on the beach, I work in swimming pools, and I love classic waterproof watches, like the vintage Baltany for example. Love your revues, thanks a lot
It's a lovely watch for the money. I don't think this type of design calls for a screw down crown and at this price point a mineral glass back is fine. The watch wears large as it has a thin bezel so an argument could be made for the diameter to be a couple of mm smaller. I would prefer the lume on the minute hand to be the same width as the hour hand but overall I think it's a great watch to own
A sapphire sandwich on a $60-$90 watch is crazy. Who cares? The rest of the watch is lovely. If it were a little smaller, it would be a great watch for my daughter. Another step up from the appalling fashion watches she's been wesring.
No hacking is just pathetic, especially on a watch with a second hand. And I just cant/don't wear anything under 40/41mm - manufacturers need to remember that wrists don't follow fashion trends. Just because watches appear to be getting smaller doesn't mean everyone is going to be following that particular trend. Aside from that, beautiful watch.

Nice watch. Thanks for the review. Always a pleasure and informative. Good job. 👍

Ive been out of the loop fot many years but i havent seen a pentax for a long time. The watch is nice also.
I still use my K-50 and K-2000, great cameras

Thanks for the review! I've had this one in my cart for awhile, but just haven't bought it yet...maybe next sale?

The Chinese are absolute masters in making copies it is truly impressive in how much they have advanced in a relatively short period of time.
Nof if only they could start doing something original.
The Tangente, to the best of my knowledge, is not a Nomos original design. This is an older design that was revived and cleaned up.

I got this one on the last sale for $53 USD shipped. I just picked up the Berny AM038M Sapphire Sandwich for $37 USD shipped on this sale.
Huh I’ve been looking at Nomos watches but maybe I need to look at these?

I have the Rodina which I got 4 years ago. It's pretty much the same watch.
I have the sky blue. Bloody awesome little watch ❤ *edit* Seestern also included a bonus mesh strap with mine!
Absolutely loved it, so dammm VFM and the fact that it’s automatic is really crazy!😮 will hopefully buy one next month😅
Really lovely watch , would have been better at 40mm . Great overview thanks 😊
I would say exactly the opposite, 37mm would be perfect since the diameter is fully dial, no bezel, so it looks bigger.

Like it!
Вы согласны, что китайские часы - толстые? Для них 13 мм стало нормой

£60 would have been a bargain, but when i clicked on the link to buy£87
Hmm will wait for a sale
OMG….its Paul Whitehouse in his Dutch policeman sketch with Harry Enfield ….😂😂😂

I don't need a screw down crown on a dress style watch. It's just overkill

any commemt about ixdao engineer
yupp .. definitely a screw down crown !!!!!!!!!!
Can't believe u think the automatic font compliments the dial, it's so out of place, a real eyesore. Stops me buying one. Less is more.
A. Lange did this same watch in the '30s so technically Nomos copied them.
Nice watch, but instead a 1:1 copy, I would prefer the original. I dont like lazy "homages".

Berny AM038M has entered the chat. You can get it right now on the current sale for $37
