My aunt (whom is deaf) had no idea this even happened until I sent it to her. This should’ve been on the big screen! They did a phenomenal job performing alongside all the others.
I love how these 2 tag teamed this. Would've loved to maybe see them sharing the stage with the other artists. Many are not familiar with ASL but to showcase this talent would've been amazing!!! I can't believe how many times I've watched this...and still going! Thank you so much for posting!!!
I agree! I feel like they were saying they didn’t deserve to be up there with the others….while it was still an honor to be at the super bowl and on TV for the half time show, it’s almost as if they were just asked to come so they could interpret it. They are performers also and deserved to be in the spotlight instead of on the dimly lot sidelines.
I agree with you both…they were honored to be there…but they deserved sooo much more!!! They literally had an epic performance that needed a stage and a space on the tv air. Love them both 🥰🔥🤟🏻🎶
@@aimee_silentexpressions You're seriously not wrong. They did our favorite deaf rappers a bit dirty there, but only a bit. Such amazing signing, despite that!
I’m not deaf, but I LOVE THIS!!!!! Once I saw that they had deaf interpreters, I searched for the split screen video. I love when they get hyped up and move with the music and just have a good time and love the music they are interpreting!!!! I would love to see them on the stage with the actual performers, even if it was at a designated spot because of all the running around they would have had to do going from one performance to the other. They should do that in future Super Bowls. Again, can’t say enough about how much I loved it!!!!
I was very disappointed that one had to download an app prior to the game to see this. That was not publicized. Would have been more inclusive if they just aired it for EVERYONE in real time. Love Wawa and Sean. Great job, guys. Wish the whole world got to see it.
same, they got short changed. i made this and posted it on all my social media. so many people don't even know about it and it is absolutely amazing talent... love them both
I agree that they should've shared the stage with the performers but with that said, I still give props to DRE, Jay-Z or whatever producer who brought these two to sign the halftime show to begin with. Not only making history for being the first Rap/R&B halftime show but also the first to have it translated in ASL. LOVE!
Actually 1993 Super Bowl had Marlee Matlin up on the stage WITH the singer broadcasting the ASL on national TV. So we’ve gone backward for accessibility and inclusion. Look it up.
I love watching interpreters sign songs - they always get into it and perform with their whole body in a way the singing performers rarely do. On a separate note, this is the first time as a non-US person I've realised how big the super bowl actually is. Getting all those performers is insane!
Oh man, they’ve had Prince, Beyoncé/Destiny’s Child, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, The Who it’s a big stage but there’s also a lot of baggage so some artists won’t touch it.
The half time show would have been SOOO much better if they would have put this on at the SAME time instead of on the app. So disappointed that I just found out about this. :( Thanks Silent Expressions!!!
It’s hard to believe almost 20 years after The Chronic was released Snoop Dogg is Crip walking during the Halftime Show of the Super Bowl. I remember when they tried to ban Gangsta rap. Lovin It, all dizzah
I looove Wawa! I saw the superbowl last year with my friends Deaf Superbowl night and was so amazing to see them! Representation matters! Also just 1 complain about the camera on the girl sign the national anthem and while she sign someone block her from view on camera so we miss some of her perform. Other than that, great night!
Why aren't they up in the mix where the action is? Why does it look like they're underground backstage somewhere? I thought asl was going to be PART of the show. It looks like an incredible production why not just put them on stage somewhere😤
This is rad but it shouldn’t have been so hard to find. I’m not deaf or HOH but it always irks me when SB telecasts will be like hey here’s Marlee Matlin to sign the anthem and only show her doing it for a few seconds before cutting back to the singer.
We're not satisfied with everything on that show halftime ASL sing. So lousy background and not enough lights spot front. Not fair hearing sing bright spots. I'm sorry about negative comment. I agreed comments said. Disappointed NFL and NBC sports. Thank you sharing this video.
I agree with you 1000 percent. they NEED to do better. good lighting, access on national tv. the world needed to see this great talent. But I did my best to make it easier to view and posted so more people could enjoy even if it isn't LIVE anymore
Agree! They didn’t treat them like performers at all. So disappointed! Was excited they were finally stepping up and recognizing other talents…only to be disappointed that they didn’t treat them as such.
Sean seems to be a class act. I’ve not met him, but his brother is a close friend of mine. He told his brother “baby steps, it’s a foot in the door” and “you don’t get anywhere by getting mad. Educate them”. That’s a pretty classy response to it.
I had no idea this was a regular thing they do. The girl that did ASL 2023 got so much attention but this one here looks just as good! I love it. Also I decided to watch it with the sound off to get the full effect of it and it's pretty cool!

Totally!!

if only they had put it on tv and not an app to provide accessibility and enjoyment for all because they were fire

Yes, thank you NFL for giving no indication in advance that they were not included in the regular broadcast
I was looking for them but I didn’t see them.
So much more than an "interpreter," they were true performers!! Wonderful show by ALL performers!! Thank you for sharing!

Agreed 💯 they were waaaaay off to the side where they couldnt be seen…maybe they were afraid they would steal the show with their greatness?
Accessibilty struggle is sooo real it breaks my heart…maybe if this gets enough notice they will change it next year

they killed it
thanks for the video upload..
6:40 - 8:25 goes crazyyy 🤟🏼
When the sign language interpreter steals the show.
Fact 🤟🏻
That's probably why they didn't have them on stage :D
Why aren’t they onstage with the other performer?
Have to ask NBC SPORTS that wuestion because they should have been 🤟🏻🌹🎶

Can someone translate what they were signing to each other at the end please?
Shout outs to the performers, deaf n loud, and NAD. That’s summary 👍
