Some people are naturally likable from the get-go, and that is you. I love your choice of colors and it is what intrigued me about your first video and now I am hooked. Thank you very much. I knit and just learned the basic of crocheting, but knitting requires both hands and in my opinion more concentration. Thanks again.

I have been a knitter since 9 yo, currently 31. But for some reason i never really tought before last fall youtube would have this big community of knitters. Your videos are that binge watch types for me. Some of your videos i have watched multiple times 😊 Tiffany's videos are my other fave, it's the calm vibe in your voice but bubbly personality i like. i'm very similar personality 😄

Kali, you are so excited. Glad you are getting such happiness in discovering the Joy's of knitting!! You will really enjoy Jana from the The Finnish Knitting Stories, she is so down to earth and has her own yarn shop. You will want to binge watch her videos too! Also see Selma, at Little Big Knits, and the Kristin Omdahl Show!🦋🧶

I don’t know if anyone else mentioned this, but I take a large rubber band and use that to get traction to tighten the needles- wrap the rubber band around loosely on the base and the needle and I get the join tighter by using the rubber to grip.

Awesome job on your first podcast Kali! Loved watching it and learning more about your projects and yarns. I'm also a huge Red Door FS fan and some of my ACOTAR yarn just shipped today!!!! I cannot believe you knit 9 sweaters in six months! You are amazing and crazy fast! I have the First Sweater in my queue and bought some Filcolana Arwetta in Bordeaux to hold with some burgundy alpaca lace I already have in my stash.

I'm so happy you started a podcast, I could (and do) listen to people talk about knitting and yarn for hours and hours. I loved this video as well, you're so vibrant and upbeat that long videos are so much fun and don't feel like a chore as they might with more uhhh quiet people.
I would love to see more of your stash in one of these podcasts, maybe talk about one or two projects you have planned in every podcast, show the yarn and everything, that would be fun!
I'm actually knitting the terrazzo sweater right now, I didn't know a lot of the techniques used in the pattern going into it but it's honestly quite simple and the result is already so beautiful, the shoulder increases, let me tell you!!! It's such a clever pattern, highly recommend.
I don't know if you plan on streaming anymore but if/when you do, I'll be happy to keep you company in the chat~

Thank you!!! I’m so happy I did as well because even though I do talk about my projects and stuff in other videos, I do like sitting down and talking about everything in this style of video. I totally feel you, sometimes it’s hard to get through videos where people are more quietly reserved ya know (not that it’s a bad thing that they’re quiet or reserved, just harder the sit through). I can definitely include some stash yarns in the podcasts and will definitely talk about things I plan to do with some yarn. I think it’s so fun to do that. 😆 Ohhhh nice!! I would love to see your progress on it (if I haven’t already, not sure if you shared it or not haha). Also hiiii Dean hahaha yes I do plan to stream more, I think I just needed February to be a “break” month. 😆 Thank you for the wonderful comment. 💙💙

I feel you, I didn't want to be rude but like, some people aren't as comfortable on camera, which is completely fine but it makes for less engaging content. That being said, sometimes what I need is to wind down a bit with a more calm podcast, though I rarely watch them through in one sitting😬
I haven't shared my progress on the Terrazzo sweater yet, sometimes I'll remember I want to do that and think "I'll just knit one more row and then I'll take a photo" and end up knitting for another hour lmaoo😭 I'll remember this time, I swear!
I'm glad you'll stream more but I'm also glad you're taking some time off for a bit of a break, treat yourself with kindness, you know? Take all the time you need💚

    • @knitwithkali
      @knitwithkali  2 года назад +1

@@alam8540 I don't think it's rude at all! But they are definitely calming, so I still watch, though like you said, I have to take a break and come back to it. xD Oooo okayy, I feel that lmaoo sometimes you just get carried away knitting and forget everything else. 😂😂 Thank you!

I really don't like when someone learns a new skill they have to sort of put down or compare the last skill. Crochet is the only thing you can do by hand, and although I love knitting as well and I went through my stage of being fascinated with it I love them both for their different unique characteristics. I like the way crochet looks I also like to to try different types of stitching as well and styles... But one does not detract from the other.

Confused at this comment as no part of this video was used to bash or talk badly about crocheting or compare crocheting and knitting against each other.

I crochet but want to learn to knit. What are the good channels for learning?

The knit dress is so pretty! I'm actually looking to do a similar thing, but i'm still wondering how to go about shaping around the hips/thighs when the pattern obviously ends at the top of the hips. I don't want it to be too tight or loose. How are you going to go about shaping the bottom part of the dress? Or does it go straight down so no need for shaping?

Thanks! I’m excited to see it work up some more for sure. I’m not going to be shaping it at all actually. Since it’s 3x3 rib, it’s going to be fairly stretchy and will be able to go over my hips with no problem. I also want a pretty snug fit as well, so I don’t want to shape it to my hips measurement and then it comes out too loose because of the stretch rib has.

Everything you showed was so pretty💕 you might want to check out Bag o day crochet on RUclips her main thing are crochet tutorials but she also has a lot of yarn haul videos from all over the world and she tells you where she found the yarn it’s fiber content and how much the yarn cost. I love watching you get excited over yarn and projects🥰 it’s always so fun☺️
