- Hello and welcome back to another episode!
This week we head spend a few days in Alice Springs preparing for our Simpson Desert Crossing. We spend one afternoon out at Simpsons Gap in the West Macdonnell Ranges and the following day hit the road and head for the geographical centre of Australia. We never thought it would be easy getting to the centre, but we were pretty lucky we made It in one piece. But what we found out there blew our minds!

2:08 had me spilled my coffee on keyboard hahaa
Hope it still works!
Your episodes can’t come around quickly enough. Such a great job with this one, and focusing on a place I’m so looking forward to going to myself - the geographical centre of Oz. Truly stunning spot which you captured so well.
That glow on the West Macs never gets old!
I really love this ep, the wild flowers and the tranquillity of the birds chirping. Such a beautiful scenes and sound like a relaxing music to my ears. If only i can double ir tripple likes this video lol
Thank you!
My mind works differently than most, the entirety of this video all I could hear in my head was “I’m free do do what I want, any old time”.
I’m going to take that as a win!
Scenery/photography: brilliant, story line/banter: engaging, natural sound track: exceptional and for the first time I noticed the music complimented the location/mood! You guys are really pulling this video stuff together to a new level.
Thank you we enjoyed making this one as well!
Thank you! I enjoyed doing the sound in this one
Greetings from England .
This was really good .
you should turn your exhaust clamps to the side or face upwards so the ends of the thread don,t get burred over on the rocks
great content i am planning a trip out through the plenty and onto the cape next year Cheers
Ahhh now your in your stride! Fantastic video guys. Love it
Did those exact roads up to Lamberts Centre of OZ in June this year.
And yes, I thought that the Plenty was rough till we got on the Ghan Heritage Rd, to be topped off with Lamberts!!
Great stuff, keep it coming!!
Yep they just got worse and worse haha…. Great spot in the centre though
Great clip guys
I'm gearing up for the Simpson next year. A party of 4 vehicles. we are planning on crossing via the south end on the WAA line.
i have googled the Santos exploration and it is hard to find anything on their bulldozer trips across the desert. they crossed it so many times. now that would have been an adventure. no road in front, just a compass and a coordinate point to aim at.
keep up the great work.
P.S. get that turbo fitted, with a straight 3 " stainless exhaust.
I had a giggle at the old VB ad skit. I loved the drone footage and the music on this one.
Sorry to miss you folk when you past through Alice 😢
You should have camped at Chambers Pillar, then gone to Lamberts Centre. Chambers Pillar is a top spot.
Didn’t hear about that one! Next time
Wow such a stunning part of Aus. Love the red dirt ❤️
Awesome once again Guys.
Loved the bird noises and scenery
Yeah it’s been one of my favourite and most unexpected experiences on the road
The smallest issue while in civilisation can turn into a big issue in the bush , take the time to fix and change anything 😎👍🍻 , great trip guys !
Love the scenery and the bird! Look forward to next weeks video Holly and Matt, Cheers;)
Elsie needs to go to the Cape next!
Might need a snorkel first !
I had to watch this. I’m from America 🇺🇸 but I love Australia 🇦🇺 to
Yay, u guys has finally made it to the Simpson desert. Looking forward to see how u guys going to tackle it 💪
Great video as usual. Thanks for your efforts
Love all your episodes, but this one in particular made me quite jealous! Keep up the good work!
Then the episodes must be doing their job!
thank you beauty love detail video is great watching every time
Another awesome video overlanding dwellers 👍🍻
I remember cruising that 12kms to Lamberts Point in my 2002 Hilux back in 2018 and geez, it was so rough! I came through the Great Central Road and the other rough part was the stretch between Giles and Warburton. Did you see any rock wallabies at Simpsons Gap? I miss travelling out there
I was there in 2019 on the way from Kulgera to Mt Dare. What an amazing place
Yeah it was not very nice that 12kms
Great video guys! Lovin this trip, central Oz is just beautiful..keep up the VB jingles Matt 😁
We were amazed at how much vegetation and bird life there is!
You guys should pick up an Australian bird field guide! Bird watching adds a great extra layer of enjoyment to your adventures :)
100% agreed, my favorite activity while the road
You know I have tho/get of that, I love seeing the variety of birds and noises. I know bird watchers with the huge lenses look a little silly but I could see myself doing that in the near future
@@OverlandTravellers we would all very much appreciate some videography of them in your movies also haha. the birds open your eyes up to see all sorts of wildlife present you might have accidentally missed if you didn't keep an eye out
only problem is you should have longer episodes 😎😎
Maps on where you are and where you are going would nice
Sorry about that. If you want to know any spots just ask and I can tell you so you can google them 👍🏻
Hi Guys love your videos especially thru lockdowns. Perhaps if you could incorporate a map especially for your OS viewers. Regards from a fellow 40 series (Arkana)tragic.
Yeah we will a map on the Simpson rundown of exactly where we went
On a side note. Adrian almost seems like an actor you paid to join you. (Obviously he’s not) He is a natural in front of the camera!
Haha he’s so good on camera! A lot of people freeze when I point a camera at them but he nailed it. He would even get up before sunrise and take a time lapse for us. He’s welcome any trip!
@@OverlandTravellers he totally compliments you and Holly. Definitely have more adventures with Adrian!
Brilliant cinematography guys
Really classy stuff
My advice is keep going
It’s all shut and getting really stupid back here in NSW
Stay escaped for your sanity’s sake
Hi mate. What headlights are they on the Elsie
7inch STEDI Homage lights 😊
When I was at the Lambert Centre of Aus a few years ago no camping was allowed there. Has that changed?
Yeah apparently it was allowed?
Haha told you fencing wire was the most useful spare part for a 40 xD
Almost lost my FJ40 exhaust on my last trip, something going on there 😅
Yeah works a treat!
Hey where do I get this map from? Shown at 14mins?
Hey mate it’s hema :)
Hi there, loving your video just goes to show you don't need $100,000 car to get out there and do it
Would be nice though haha
Awsome video , getting over seeing you tubers stickers every where , not much difference to bloody graffiti, leave the bush alone
