  • Let me speak to your heart about the beauty and depth of Psalm 23. These words, so familiar to many, often bring comfort in times of grief or struggle. Written by King David, a ruler of immense power, these verses reflect humility as he identifies himself as a sheep under the care of the Lord, the Good Shepherd.
David acknowledges that God, as Adonai-Lord and Master-intimately knows His flock and provides for their every need. This relationship is personal, loving, and protective, as described in Philippians 4:19 and Isaiah 40:11. Unlike earthly shepherds, Jesus, the Good Shepherd, laid down His life for us, His sheep, as we read in John 10:11-14. He knows us by name and calls us to trust Him fully.
Yet, the question remains: Are you part of His flock? Have you accepted Jesus as your Shepherd and Savior? To follow Him requires hearing His Word, believing in Him, repenting of sin, and being baptized, just as the Ethiopian eunuch demonstrated in Acts 8.
The invitation is open. Will you follow the Good Shepherd today? He knows you, loves you, and calls you to walk with Him. Won’t you respond?
