@2:13 That voice! So many countless Sunday nights I stayed up past my bedtime listening to NY After Dark. Her voice was like a lullaby putting me to sleep.
It was originally called “Soft Touch” when it was on from 10PM until 2AM the next morning. It was a show filled with slow jams and some soul classics for four hours. I wish I had them in my collection, and Charlie Menut has them in his collection of airchecks. I have a few them that came to the courtesy of Charlie Menut complete and unscoped.
So many happy memories of listening to quiet storm with this dj (ie DISC jockey) altho the shows were likely vetted for censorship issues.. her voice was always relaxing... c. 1987
Yvonne Mobley had the best voice in radio, soft, gentle, damn she could set the mood. It was something about the way she said, 'kiss' that use to f**k me up.
