The controls are rather poor on this PC version- partly due to the low resolution it feels pretty loose throwing with a modern-day optical mouse. Also the physics aren't quite as good as the arcade version.
I remember buying this game as a kid only to find out it doesn't work on Windows XP, only years later did I realize you needed to put it in compatibility mode.

Just run the setup program under compatibility mode with windows xp sp2 or 3
