But the large majority of abusers are men. Depp abused Amber for years in a cycle intoxicated abusive rages and blackouts, jealous and controlling behavior, and horrific verbal abuse, berating and taunting with expressions of sadistic torture, murder, and sexual assault. Mentions of kicking, pushing, throwing things, and beating the crap out of her, were not denied. He apologized. He documented this himself in his own texts. In recordings he told her it was HER JOB to remind him not to hurt her and remind him not to become the "monster". Multiple bouts of detox rage and vomit and poo pants cleanup only to binge again. All this happened before Depp recorded Amber's anger that condemned her. You ignore all of his abuse but fixate on her. This is why these shady lawyers are paid the big bucks. They put this in your heads. And you just believed their narrative. They are not paid tell the truth. They are paid to twist reality and gaslight the jury and public to their wealthy clients favor

Notice the difference in how these two attorneys answer questions and speak of the opposing side vs how AH’s lawyer does. Johnny’s representation team is nuanced, careful with their words, and respectful even when they’re disappointed about something. They don’t attack the character of Elaine or try to turn this into political grandstanding. She, on the other hand, is doing the opposite, and it speaks to a lack of professionalism that just validates the sense of the jury’s verdict.

The contrast between these two incredible lawyers and Elaine is staggering. They are so much more poised, logical and professional. They don't claim to know better, they don't preach, they just give us facts. Amber and Elaine act as if we didn't see this trial, yet we all did and Camille was right: the verdict was fair, they proved every single statement Amber made to be false. It's not a setback for women, it's a step forward for both men and women. It's proof that all genders can have equal consideration and equal punishment. Just because you're a women doesn't mean that you can't be tried for your crimes, just because you're a man doesn't mean you can't get justice when you've been abused.
EDIT: Some people in the comments are convinced that Elaine's only fault was to be saddled with a bad client. Up until her interview I somewhat agreed (though I did not appreciate the mocking tone she assumed when talking to witnesses). However she willingly went on national TV, disrespected the jury and the judge, came close to defaming Depp and tried to play victim while deflecting both the blame and questions. These facts are what disappointed me. On the other hand, Depp's lawyers did interviews in response to her allegations. And it was the right thing to do. But unlike her, they don't try to be holier-than-thou. I'm not being biased, I'm simply stating what is clear to see.
The trial is over, and the verdict has been pronounced. Justice has been served, it's now time to accept it and move on. Hopefully this trial will serve as a lesson for liars, regardless of gender.

@@matthiasdahms7 I 100% agree, the stereotype on Men sometimes is logical, but extremely upsetting when situations like this happen and ruin a man’s life. It also makes a lot of men scared to stand up, because who are the general public and close friends going to believe? You the man who apparently got abused in so many different ways, or a woman who claims the same thing? The woman will always come on top, and it’s really upsetting. I believe Men and Woman should be equal to everyone, and mainly the stereotype of both are stripped. So no woman is scared to admit the truth of beatings and verbal abuse by a man, and no man is afraid to do the same about a woman. I may not be religious, but I always keep in mind the saying of “All men and woman, are created equal to one another” so let’s make it that way…

I'm 100% with you on that. I only heard bits and pieces of what was going on, then saw that video Amber put out of Johnny and i really thought "hmm...maybe there's truth to what she's saying about him."
But the more and more testimony and evidence/witnesses that came out, it became clearer that Amber was not being truthful about a lot of things. None of us really know what happened. Did Johnny get verbally abusive with her? It's very possible. Did Amber do the same to him? Seems that way. But, again, watching the trial it really seemed more likely than not that Amber was not being truthful. And especially the way she behaved in court on and off the stand. She would put on a performance on the stand (no actual tears mind you) and then her entire behavior changed when she was seated because it wasn't her "scene" anymore. That was a BIG one for me because I've known people that were abused. I was even abused and get behavior was not that of an abused person.

"Johnny Depp took ownership of a lot of things, she had an answer for everything, she wasn't taking accountability for anything."
This is exactly how you can spot a narcissist. They always have something or someone to blame. The only way they 'blame' themselves is saying things like "I shouldn't have been so naive, I shouldn't have been such a perfectionist" which is just boosting their own ego, always in their own favor. When you notice someone like this, run for the hills, ignore their calls, don't let them ruin friendship with others. Even, maybe especially, when it's family! They do anything to put others down and lift themselves up no matter what the cost. A last tip to spot one, they always confuse things to boast about and to be victim off. But of course there is infinite hypocrisy in lies.

    • @sfnerd2023
      @sfnerd2023 Год назад +5

This was such a revelatory point, thank you! I had a narcissistic ex and I recognized his behavior in Amber. Something about their behavior is off. It’s precisely the fact that they always have an answer for everything, and the “faults” they very occasionally admit to are never really faults. They will convey to you that their flaws are secretly a positive talent or skill; they’re smug about it. A non-narcissist will be able to admit fault and will be fiercely honest about the damage it may cause to others. They are not afraid to be vulnerable and authentic because they have a solid conception of self that does not crumble when they make a mistake. Narcissists, on the other hand, are never able to be vulnerable. That would expose their hand. It reveals how truly fragile they are. They use these maladaptive behaviours to form a shield/mask around this fragile self, and they operate in life with this mask. It was clear to me that Amber was trying to use this mask to act like a victim, unfortunately, rather than simply owning the fact that she was one. She seemed to believe and portray that victims were ultimately perfect, always defenceless, never wrong. That was her downfall.

@marz A woman chasing a man down to continue a fight and escalate it doesn't need a protector.
If a daughter acts like Amber and acts like a c*** then the parents have failed to raise a human being properly.
Maybe someone should have considered punching the parents instead of the bf huh?!!!
Or how about raising children the right way then no one has to get punched... THAT sounds like a better plan.

one marked difference between Team Depp and Team Turd.
(asking Elaine if Turd can pay her damages): "no. absolutely not."
(asking Team Depp about whether he's interested in settling the appeal): "we can't speak attorney/client communications. What we can say is Johnny testified in court that... "
Elaine essentially broke attorney/client privilege in her interviews and WITHOUT HESITATION (most likely not realizing so- since she's not a very good lawyer). That''s just another piece to the mounting pile of disbarment issues she could be cited for just from this case.

@@marz9676 I see lawyers are not the only shady ones who twist narratives.
