Nice commentary, but you missed the most important part of the fight. Ripperoni's agility comes from its flywheel spinning counter to its weapon rotation. This nullifies most of the gyroscopic effects of Ripperoni's weapon, and lets them turn and move so quickly. Just before the 8:04 mark, during the fight, the motor that keeps that flywheel spinning broke, slowed the flywheel, and eventually comes off completely. From this point the handling of Ripperoni is severely compromised (like it was in their Gruff fight, where the flywheel didn't spin fast enough). This is what allowed Black Dragon to have the upper hand from then on. Batteries on fire, in a modern and compartmentalized bot, is not a huge problem, particularly if it is only the _weapon motor's battery._
It's probably to keep people from using depleted uranium in their bots. DU cutting teeth on the end of Tombstone's bar would shred AR500 like it's aluminum.
Couple things. BD spins their drum vertically. Really? The fight that shocked the world? Yeah no. What about Skorpious and Endgame beating Tombstone? Tombstone embedding tantrums fist in the wall? Valkyrie cutting off red devils tred? Well, opinion and your welcome to it. PIZZA.
That was a great video! The amount of detail given through the video is surprisingly good! Flat bot designs were always interesting to me. Especially Minotaur and Black Dragon, they're nimble, strong and hard to kill. Literally. Although I didn't expect Black Dragon to survive from RIPperoni, that comeback was wild!!! -Mar
Thanks for the response! I do really like the nimbler bots, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I voted on Black Dragon winning. Having all of their power being driven from the weapon is a fun spectacle to watch.
The announcers: They need to turn it down a notch. One of them should do play-by-play and the other color/analysis, with the roles sometimes blending or occasionally switching, but playing off each other. I could be more than a casual watcher/fan if this and other production aspects were more professional. (That broken glass visual effect in a different vid needs to go.) My $.02...
I like the similarities ripperoni has to bombshell, first bot to genuinely shock me in a bot fight. Beating tombstone was crazy at the time, even though it’s nothing special now. It seems like the perfect bot, crazy black dragon could beat it
Kinda surprised it wasn't RIPperoni vs End Game since that one was a super huge upset for many and I'm sure a lot of people were thinking that after Gruff, End Game was gonna dominate. Though this fight was so back and forth; I was so sad Ripperoni lost last minute, but at the same time, they didn't have to face even tougher opponents - plus SawBlaze, after so many years, did get a well deserved Giant Nut. But this honestly just shows that when Black Dragon catches fire, all hell breaks loose. This is the real case of "this isn't my final form!". However, don't expect this to be the end of the Pizza King... ;)
great video! interesting to see robot combat content under a more serious tone of video lol. however i do have some notes first off rubber is a common material within not only battlebots but robot combat overall, rubber is actually key to the success of endgame and (im pretty sure) black dragon as well. They use it as fireproofing and shock absorption in the bots, and black dragon (along with many other teams now) Use the heftier and more durable full rubber tires. Ripperoni only won 3 of its prior fights as it only had 5 fights along the qualifiers and main championship. and finally, Uairrior is just pronounced warrior, although it is pretty confusing as the majority of the american side of the robot combat fanbase doesnt know, hell i only found out recently due to NHRL
I was rooting for Ripperoni so bad during that fight. WCVII was without a doubt in my mind the strongest season of BattleBots so far. There were so many good fights in the bracket I honestly forgot about this match entirely, probably because I was brooding after Ripperoni lost.I'm hoping for a deeper run for them if they stay with this bot for next season. It's such a good machine. Nice video!
I don't get why people ever bother bringing up fire with Minotaur and Black Dragon. Very clearly as we have several fights to back it up, fire is a feature for the Brazilians.
I'd argue tombstone vs rotator was the fight that shocked the world. This one made me cheer because I picked black dragon to beat ripperoni, so I was happy to see my bracket not broken, but unfortunately the next fight after this one was what ruined my entire bracket cause I picked cobalt to win the whole thing Also seems like you're a new channel, would you be making more battlebots content cause that would be great. The more battlebots content, the better
Love battlebots but what stands out to me is the sportsmanship between teams and how they help each other out.In today's world were attitude is everything i find it refreshing.

I love how they have a rule against radioactive material in the design, they must have expected people to make a nuclear powered robot design.
It's probably to keep people from using depleted uranium in their bots. DU cutting teeth on the end of Tombstone's bar would shred AR500 like it's aluminum.
@butchs.4239 yeah
Oh, come on! I already bought plutonium!
One hit from the robot carrying nuclear waste, and it’s bye bye BattleBot arena 😂
@Jace888 depends on if it's performing a nuclear reaction or not. Usually it would just do nothing except contaminate the area with slight radiation.
Side note, I felt pain every time you said ‘do not back down’. Maybe don’t use repetition in future videos
should have replaced it with quack quack quack at this point and it would still be fitting
Plus it's robot wars - backing down would be interesting if it happened, not doing so is normal lol
amazing video!

sorry how is red devil vs Valkyrie one of them
Deserved a new subscriber
Commentary was bad but i was still really into it by the end! thumbs up
Where is the quantum guys
Shouldn't that battlebot be called "Pizza Wheel" ? Like the pizza slice cutter tool.
Nah, I like “Ripparoni” more.
I hate that host yelling all the time 🙄
IKR? I have to reduce the volume.
Blah blah blah…

I didn’t know a video about robots could give me chills like this 😁

4:10 it DOES NOT spin horizontally, it spins vertically

Really great video. That was a crazy fight!
I don't get why people ever bother bringing up fire with Minotaur and Black Dragon. Very clearly as we have several fights to back it up, fire is a feature for the Brazilians.
Difference is that Black Dragon almost always wins its fights when on fire, while Minotaur lost twice that way.
I'd argue tombstone vs rotator was the fight that shocked the world. My favourite bot is bronco
awesome video!
and yeah, what an awesome fight. it makes me so, soooo proud of my country
keep making content like this and ur going places 100%
4:54 it should be noted that Ripperoni lost their debut fight against Gruff and then had a winning streak against End Game, Hijinx, and Copperhead.
booooooooooooooooooooooooooo
pizza was better
mute
Love battlebots but what stands out to me is the sportsmanship between teams and how they help each other out.In today's world were attitude is everything i find it refreshing.
apart from riptide...
you forgot the ramrods
I’m glad we a re getting more battlebot RUclipsrs now
Riptide soon proceeds to throw blaxk dragon across the whole arena:
The interior cannot contain rubber or plastic? Since when?
Really? not Black Dragon VS Riptide, EndGame vs RIPperoni, Or Minotaur VS Cobalt?
uhm riptide vs black dragon?
I already said that, and again those fights that I mentioned are really the fights that shocked the world
@@XXXGreatSurvivalXXXhow did it “shock the world”
