Dare I say: this beautiful child is as good as Andras Schiff or Alfred Brendel. Varvara is a small, angelic master of the keyboard. Each movement of the Bach suite has its own character, identity, drama. Her Chopin is heartbreaking in its confident beauty; her Mozart stunning in its joyful virtuosity; her Rachmaninoff is decades ahead of her age in years. Surely Varvara is a curly-haired, sweet child away from the piano. At the keyboard, she already belongs to a choir of the loftiest musicians, those who will save the human race from itself.
