Just started playing forts for the first time recently and I can't get enough of the speed and elegance of this guy's base design, build order and execution. I'm lucky if my base doesn't collapse on itself for FSM's sake.
20mm cannon's buff was quite necessary, because back then, the damage was way too weak from the spread. Now that the devs improved the damage per bullet, 20mm cannons are actually viable again. That damage buff is also why Scattershot didn't get the +2 bullets for his 20mm cannons, because the playtesters thought it was WAY too OP, even if shield-spamming is involved.
To be honest, 20mm and phantom looked like a legit strategy, since she can fit more than other commanders, and they're cheaper to build than cannons...
Finally! A little bit more pace to these non livestream Forts videos would be lovely as they are too infrequent. But some are better than none in any case.
Ya I dont necessarily dislike that he does streaming but I prefer his more solo style commentary where he's just playing the game and not worrying about chat and whatnot.

The problem is forts and such are an EXTREMELY small niche that not many people are aware of or interested in. But this is a great channel with amazing content and definitely deserves all the support and love it can get!
Watching Incursus play inspired me to play Forts, but then I was too intimidated to actually learn. The logical process he applies to his gameplay makes it look straightforward, but I realized that without a lot of practice doing a build order and adapting it to your opponent under pressure is a real challenge to the inexperienced RTS player. Or maybe I just don't take to it naturally. But the real deterrent isn't learning, it's being trash talked the entire time while figuring it out.
3 years late to the party, but mb this'll help someone who's reading this later. As an RTS fan, I strongly advise you to first try playing the campaign, no matter the RTS you're playing. It's a much better learning experience, it's very fun, and for a lot of players, it's the main way to play. This'll teach you the basic mechanics and hotkeys. Once you feel like trying out PvP, I strongly recommend watching a tutorial video first - something that explains a simple, up-to-date build order. And then you find a comfy, stress-free way to practice said build order. E.g., I like to start up an empty match with no opponents and just practice folowing the build order. Or you could add a very easy bot - main thing is, start in a stress-free environment where it's easy to concentrate. Once you've got the hang of it, move on to the ladder - but be prepared that it won't be easy, you'll pro ably be like 50% slower, and do way more mistakes bc of the added pressure, and bc your opponent will probably try to throw you off with early rushes, cheese, harassment, etc.
Remember Incursus, you don't need to right click and click the button. You can simply left click, hold, and drag to move devices :) However you can run into some issues when placing.
Yes!!! More of these videos please. Too many streams lately. It's a lot more fun to watch you go against weaker opponents and use interesting strategies that aren't necessarily top tier. Incursus, do a showcase of the reworked scattershot! Active for 3x firepower on 20mm’s, unlimited daka! Also shockenaugh and the other things, I’m sure you’re already planning on showing all the changes to commanders at some point though

I mean yeah, 20mm have issues ending the game, but with enough of anything that tends to no longer be a problem. I believe the final campaign mission even touches on that. Except for machine guns.
you could actually utilize this rotation mechanic pretty nicely with portals: only moving cannons behind portals when you shoot them and letting enemy return fire just hit empty space in between
Highly doubt it. This strat has been in the game since launch of Moonshot. It's fun, but no one has really managed to use it in a more competitive setting. Yet.
