Hallo, I‘m german and 50 years ago I went to Geschwister Scholl Grundschule. Sophie,22, and her brother Hans ,25, were peacefully german partisans against hitler. They published pamphlet against the nazis and were murdered by the nazis after their detection. And there are hundreds of school or places similar named in germany until now and this is a good thing.
Germany has a history of roughly 2.000 years. The period between 1914 and 1945 consisted of only 30 years and the IIWW had it´s origins in Versailles with an unjust treaty.
There is a difference between origins because origins you can trace back endlesly, and decisions.
Versailles has the origing in the allied victory, these victory has the origin in the war, the war going long has the origin in for example the "Kriegszieldebatte" (and the similar debates in the other countrys), the war itself goes back to the dynamic of the political pwoers just before and after the killing of Archduke Franz ferdinand, these Dynamic is a product of early 20 century diplomatic, shaped by late 19 cnetury...
an origin is never "one" its one brick an line of endless more before.
But devisions happen at a time, from people, and as long we belive in responsibility of people at all, we have to belive in the repsonsibilty of people for decisions.
Also: one unjustice, dosent give any grace to another unjustice. (Exactly that is what the idear of responsibility is: each decision is a new point of responsibility, not just a causal line of origin after origin)
Sorry, but there are numerous countries that have caused great harm to the world. I´m thinking of the USA that started wars in Vietnam Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Irak, Grenada, Mexico etc.
