Carola is one of Sweden's all-time greates female vocalist. She's know for her absolute crystal clear voice, and perfect pitch. She usually doesn't sing in this "breathy" tone you sometimes hear throughout thissong. She's more known for her power, something that is just barely eluded to in this song.
She was 16 when she won "Melodifestivalen" in Sweden with the song "Främling" (Stranger) in 1983, and then went on to sing in The Eurovision Song Contest where she ended up in 3rd place. Later she would win the competition in 1991 with "Fångad av en stormvind" (there's also an English version called "Captured By A Lovestorm" but it's not as good, IMHO). Both would be quite good examples of her powerful voice.
