- "I'm not going to have it": Judge Barbara Bellis threatened to hold both the plaintiffs' attorneys and Alex Jones' attorneys in contempt of court if they don't stop the comments to each other in front of the jury. "Do you expect me to lay silently when they're directed at me inappropriately?" attorney Norm Pattis responded.

Tell the guy “ whispering “ WE heard him too 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
PROFESSIONALISM 101
Any first year family law attorney would know that the appropriate way to deal with inappropriate comments by opposing counsel is to immediately stop what you are doing and when the other counsel is done speaking, ask the judge if you may approach the bench. Do NOTHING until that request is granted.
Ahh, the Pentangeli objection: "Why do you ask me to lay down to them, Mike?!!" Somebody get the judge a champagne cocktail.
Thank you for that AWESOMENESS!
It makes sense Jones would hire a lawyer with the maturity of a 5 year old.
That his lawyer is some mediocre, off-brand sad sack with a ponytail = also not surprising
@@markieffmorris9263 Jones' lawyer is very highly paid to push the limits of behavior to get a favorable outcome, no matter how unwelcome he makes himself for other cases.
His reputation will ensure that someone else will hire him to do the same thing in some other court.
Jones and his lawyers need to be held accountable for their behavior and their lies.
lol
It is extremely frustrating when opposing counsel breaks decorum like this, but it is best to bring it to the court's attention and not return fire.
One understands opposing council's frustration though. All the conspiracy-theory grandstanding from defendant's lawyer, and Jones himself, must fray the nerves.
"Do you expect me to lay there silently while these are directed at me?" Well, yes actually. That's how court works, it's not a back and forth. When one attorney is speaking; the others, ie you, are supposed to shut up unless you are objecting.
That's not actually how the courts work. The judge is not a god.
He lost me at ponytail
@@NOTSOSLIMJIM That's also not actually what the original comment said either.
So you must be either be confused, or talking about her threat to hold people in contempt. Assuming it's the latter: The judge _does_ have the power to hold anyone not abiding by the rules of court, in contempt.
@@torontolarrivee7965 thats the ponytail of justice, demons hate it
Extremists on either left or right like to interrupt and fillibuster, this has to be controlled in a court room setting.
This lawyer is absolutely unbelievable. He's clearly pushing all the buttons in the hopes that something will stick in the appeal. The level of contempt he has towards the judge is just disgusting. The way he has treated her from day one has been shocking. "We're ready". WTH??? The JUDGE says when she's ready, not you!
You mean representing his client?
This commenter is a born coward and has it backwards - glad that coward is not in my life - the attorney is standing up for his client like he should
@@robtcondon No son YOU are backwards and you were born that way and you are so proud of it. It is vomitus.
@@robtcondon Actually, it looks more like Norm Pattis is trying to make Judge Bellis angry enough for her to throw him out of court. He's wanted off the case for months because there's no way he can win.
@@robtcondon these comments are full of sheep who believe anything CNN and the DNC tells them. They have zero issues with the court system destroying people's lives as long as it's people they don't like.
This execrable defense attorney appears to WANT to be held in contempt. He has shown the judge ZERO respect since the beginning. I suppose she is trying her best not to hoold him in contempt because Jones would simply scream about it. I don't see how she is going to be able to refrain from doing so, however.
This judge cannot handle this train wreck
Bellis should remove both plaintiff and his counsel from the open court, and allow them to contribute only over a video link. Otherwise the jury is likely to be compromised (which is probably what defense intends).
He's not incompetent, he's frustrated. I'd be too if I was him. This is a no win situation with a bad client control issue
The lawyer knew the job was. He's getting paid. I have no sympathy for him at all
There is no excuse for his unprofessional behavior it the courtroom. His Bar needs to bring him up on ethics violations as well as unprofessional behavior. It clowns like this guy that gives attorneys a bad name.
The LEVEL OF DISRESPECT is insane...
He should file a Bill of Quia Timidt so that it stays with Alex's file so the Appeals judges will see it when the case is appealed!
I would love to see this exact thing play out in the room where the Nickolas Cruz trial is being heard.
Oh man - me too!! That would be awesome
I mean they record a lot but I get what you mean
This is a similar tactic to what the attorneys are trying in the Cruz penalty phase.
We have so much disrespect for others in this country and now even in the Courtroom. These lawyers need to grow up!
The patience of that judge to let defense counsel talk over her like that. My gawd. I would've bashed him with a gavel. It's almost as if he's auditioning to represent a certain ex president (if the price is right)....
That's not what it is .This judge is not operating far at all
You need to understand the difference between patience and lack of authority.
Should've included the ten minutes or so leading up to this.
Eliminator,...if you have seen any of the clips on this channel, you know that these lawyers are bad about adding commentary to their replies
Arguing with a judge, almost always isn't good. Its almost like she is running the show.
Unbelievable
Why is the Judge being so nice? Smack these attorney's in their place with contempt! Seriously, give an inch and they'll take a mile. Keep the courtroom under control.
She's terrible...the lawyers are awful and she has made this case about her...not the true victims of Sandy Hook...
Could it be because it's a frustrating case? Certainly seems weird.
Wow that crazy
She’s clearly not an infowarrior.
Sad.
The judge is unable to effectively control her courtroom. She should not be a judge,
Isn't that what "objections" are for and then let the judge decide? There has to be "order in the court".
Yes that's what objections are for,but you make an objection in a respectful way and you don't talk over a judge and comment during the prosecutions time
There was an objection. You can hear him object and say it is beyond the scope. The other lawyer than says it was the same video that was shown earlier. Then Jones' lawyer points out that it isn't the same video.
@@bbg5000 I see. Yeah, both sides need to up their game a bit and not bicker directly to each other or the judge. Right or wrong, there has to be order in the court.
The long hair lawyer is on thin ice when you start telling a judge what you're going to take and what you're not going to take
He's an experienced and competent lawyer, yes, she's the judge, but her power is limited, for goodness sake.
Dude imagine if the judge was somebody else just imagine. They are bold to backtalk to a judge like that. Zero respect.
Some judges I know would have the bailiff lead those guys away in handcuffs.
You can vigorously fight for your client but the court has rules and the judge is there to make sure that your vigorous fight for your client doesn't bring in information during this last stage in the trail that wasn't presented during the trial. This attorney has no defense for the indefensible acts of aj so now the only thing he can do is to try to convince as many jurors as he can to low ball the victims and save some of the millions he acquired through his deceptive practices
Law & Crime channel comments house some of the dumbest ppl on the internet. Congrats on being exhibit A to that.
What did Alex do that is "indefensible"?
Lame
You are a 🤡
Rules??? It is the judge who has been breaking the rules.
From allowing the plaintiff's lawyer to call a witness by the first name to not requiring a basis for objections from the plaintiff. In the real world, most objections without a basis are a default over-rule. This judge is an egotistical wack job showing clear favortism towards the plaintiffs.
Norm Pattis has completely changed the momentum of this trial. The judge has backed off confrontations with Norm Pattis showing a major shift in this trial.
This is an amazing trial to watch...
Guilty people shout, because they are cornered and wrong. Her court, her rules, follow procedures and the LAW.
She's incredibly corrupt
If they were following the law this trial wouldn’t be happening.
Thats why plaintiff lawyer is shouting and defence lawyer is calm.
That judge is compromised!
The thing I cannot handle is anyone talking over the judge 😬 As a person with ADHD who loves the law, I always worried that would be my biggest struggle as an attorney.
Then you're going to have a hard time. Many lawyers are scared of being civil or courteous allowing each person to speak in turn becauee they think it makes them appear weak. Some judges keep good order and shut down any talking over. Some judges lose control. Experienced lawyers know when to shut up. But most lawyers think their oath to "zealous representation" is not just a licnese but an order to be obnoxious, lie, cheat, steal, and try to be overbearing themselves in court. I've seen in my 20 years as a prosecutor the worse types of lawyers in court. And having grown up in the Barrios of Los Angeles, I have to control every fiber of my being not to pull them by their ties to the back of the court house for some counseling in common courtesy.
I believe ALL tyrannical judges should be talked over!!!
My kids have ADHD, and interrupting/talking over people is something we've had to work at, but they've really improved. I have co-workers with ADHD who never learned the importance of active listening and it holds them back in their careers.
I wish you luck in your struggles, but know that it is worth it, and people will enjoy working with you so much more if you make the effort. Best of luck Scho.
@@iamamish much appreciated. I make the effort. Most people dont make the effort to be understanding towards people who are not neurotypical and understand that these things are part of their neurodivergence.
@@scho553 i understand this can be difficult, i have several that are close to me with the same issue but my 2 cents is learn from it and please dont use it as a crutch or “handicap” because once you do it its hard to return from it. I promise im not trying to be insensitive about it im just speaking from experience watching others use it as a crutch and once they did it was never uphill after. God speed and good luck with your endeavors
When attorneys behave exactly like Alex Jones.
Wow!
This is like a high school classroom wtf.
Throw him into jail your honor. Maybe it will improve his hearing.
This so called judge is a disgrace.
If your lawyer isn't in contempt, he's not doing his job,,,!
Even scumbags deserve a zealous defense...
And freedom of speech yes
The judge deserves a reward for the patience it must take to deal with either Jones or his attorneys.
Alex did not kill those children they should go after the family of the murderer but no they have to go after the person that they know has money just disgusting
Excellent. 🇺🇸
asking the lawyer what to do WoW!
Did not hear the judge say that she will hold the lawyers in contempt.

@@MO-qd6tm Thanks

*Cues Twisted Sister‘We’re not gonna take it’😂”
Dude, your client isn’t too worried about anything if he doesn’t even bother to show up for is own freaking trial.
They won't let him say anything if he does show up .The judge wants him to say he's guilty in front of the jury and he refused to do it so now he can say nothing. It doesn't matter what anyone things of jones, this is a kangaroo court and this judge has lost control a long time ago and should be required to recuse herself from the trial
He did show up. He's in Connecticut right now lol. They wont let him even say he's innocent, you know, like what our justice system is supposed to be in place for. They did a default judgement before the thing even kicked off. Like him or hate him that's a dangerous precedent for future court cases.
@@andrewg37 these people don't understand that because they won't listen ,they just hear the name Alex jones and then they assume what they are told to believe
@@andrewg37: Geezus Drew, the guy had 4 years to put up a defense!! This suit was filed in 2018 and your boi was given multiple opportunities to present a defense. He refused to do that and here we are.
@@rayray8687 he gave them what they asked for, his financial earnings for the timeframe in which sandy hook went down. They bitched about the format of the documents and weren't satisfied with the contents claiming there had to be more than what was presented. They then doled out a default judgement. Before the actual trial. He didn't even get a chance. Not to mention all these court cases all pop up at once from the same office. They just want him gone. Don't care what legal processes they circumvent to achieve that. Like I said it sets a dangerous precedent when a judge can declare you guilty before you even sit in front of a jury.
I wouldn't say "threatened" she's going pretty soft here.
Judge take control of your courtroom please.
was this part of the live broadcast cut out with the impromptu press conference by alex jones outside the courthouse? I can't seem to find it while scanning through the footage
edit: nevermind, I found it at 5:28. keeping this comment up just in case someone saw it and might think it was censored if I deleted it.
Time to arrest this clown and her circus
Should show more of video so we can understand the context of what is going on.
Arrogant and as belligerent as his client. Any wonder this vile and sad excuse of a human aka ‘Alex Jones’ is in court. Lock. Him. Up!
Lawyers that have long ponytails are always good criminal lawyers. You never see a prosecuting lawyer with nice hair.
What's with all the secrecy?
These lawyers don’t know how to respect this judge! Not too bright.
The judge is the mediator the judge is the person everyone talks to and the lawyers are not meant to speak to each other, this attorney felt he could push both the other lawyer and the judge even going as far as to ask if we were done here. I respect this judge for taking a minute to compose themselves and then push back on Alex Jones's attorney. He is on thin ice telling the judge what he will and won't do, I expect to see contempt charges and I expect the judge to tell the jury many times to disregard comments, this will put Alex's defense in a bad light with the jury.
Ponytail guy needs a haircut.
who are you to judge?
@@Nikson2981 someone with a haircut, most likely.
These defense attorneys are slimeballs.
Only a slimeball would defend Alex Jones.
Ponytail, Esq. "We're ready" (1:03)
WTF?!?!?!?! Judge should've admonished him on the spot for trying to hurry Her Honor up as if he's the one who's presiding from the bench.
Disgusting... Some Lawyers are the roaches of humanity.
Judge expects Alex's Jones lawyer to roll over not defend his client.....lmao
🤣This is gonna be the next new thing actually wanting to go to court😂
I feel like this is the courtroom equivalent of apes hooting and flinging poo at each other
Hold me in contempt too
Weak judge, at the bench she should of not let neither attorney speak over her. It's her courtroom to control.
no matter what the outcome, American courts have lost
Go Judge, LOCK THEM UP!
This is the best Alex could find because no one else would go near him
You’re in the courtroom!!! Act like it be an adult
This judge needs to be removed from the bench.
The Judge needs to fine each attorney for each comment, and then start raising the amounts.
The Depp-Heard judge would have set these guys straight within the first 10 minutes
Right Foot Left Hand Yes. As a former marine she took no nonsense.
She's too keenly aware of the eyes on her, and is trying to be too diplomatic - she has to take the gloves off
Wow, the way they disrespect this judge! The one with the pony tail...disgusting!
The way American lawyers talk to judges is really shocking. So rude.
The judge knows she's in the wrong, the pictures were clearly different, she's trying to win a case for the so called "Victims". She has no case, she's using her power to shut up a well educated lawyer.
This guy is the exception, not the rule. Lawyers with a good name to uphold wouldn't touch Alex Jones with a ten foot pole.
Agreed, I've never heard anything like it! Contempt charges should be flying!
The system is a joke and the bow down to master sentiment is long gone.
Rude? More like freedom of speech
Should we be able to hear this
We should, yes. This was all established at the beginning of the case. Everyone agreed that the whole case could be filmed with audio, although Pattis wasn't keen on the side-bars being recorded, and has been reminded by the judge not to cover the microphone after one such incident during a side-bar.
Norm Pattis amazes me. He is the kind of defense lawyer I would be happy to represent me.
I confess when I first saw him and his hippie hair, I was feeling negative towards him. BUT!!!!....now. Wow... Mr Pattis has completely changed the energy of this trial. The judge now being more even-handed and even admonished the plaintiff's lawyers. The judge has started asking the lawyers to provide basis for objections. Norm Pattis is putting on a clinic how to handle a hostile court and change the momentum of a trial...
Throw him in jail and tech him a lesson. So unprofessional in court. Kind of an embarrassment to the US legal system
studying law myself I can tell you there's nothing embarrassing about this at all....do you truly understand the context of this situation shall I explain?
Wow. Don't think we are meant to hear side bars.
Great. More tax dollars wasted over this useless trial......
Jones' lawyer must have gotten his degree from a rock.
Thomas Spencer I want to add the word 'band' to the end of that 😂
This is what a dying justice system looks like
Why does Alex have a hippie lawyer defending him? I thought he hated hippies!
Huh?
I believe I heard the defense say yesterday that this is his first trial. May have misheard, but he definitely seems to not know how this works.
They emailed the prosecution two years worth of Alex Jones texts you rube!
It isn't his "first rodeo" as he put it himself the other day.
And he knows. He just doesn't care.
Oh he knows how it works why do you think their having a hard time with him he is right all the courts have become corrupt
He said "this is not my first rodeo," as a matter of fact.
Nah, he's been a lawyer for something like 30 years.
Norm Pattis is a gladiator among children.
These people play dirty, and this judge isn't having it!
This judge plays dirty, and these people ain't having it!
aren't platitudes exciting? Vapid, but exciting!
I didn't realize this trial was still happening.
@2003ranp It's the next trial in a group of trials aimed at Jones.
He is so disrespectful to the judge and the court.
If only there was anything to respect I'm sure he would
Long Live INFO WARS 🎉
Put the defense attorney in contempt only. He’s the only one trying to ruin the whole case. Literally him. I don’t see the same thing happening with the other attorney that’s simply doing the right thing
Major problem in being audible in approach. Whatever is correct on what drew them into the approach, no-one else should be able to hear their conversation. Serious risk of influencing the jury and rendering a mistrial.
If an attorney can't stay quiet, they should choose another job. He should object when he got his time, until then, sticks and stones...
Pathetic little man, he has no place being in court
The court should go for it!
he has no idea how this works in her court room he truly is worse than the last child that the poor parents had to put up with
Great judge
