    I love what you’re doing with matchquarters. I’ve never interacted with the game like I do now. I’m a youth coach and we aren’t approaching the complexity here but we are lining our guys up similarly so when they get to higher levels they’re prepared. Thank you.

    When in Stress and you get smash, who has the hitch? I understand the corner has MOD (man or deep), but would that be man on the hitch or "deep" on the corner?

      Smash calls apply in Stress. Sam would detach & CB would assume #2's route

    Hey coach, love the material, i'm a brazilian coach so not all terms make sense to me, what does "push" in the quads mean?

    • @MatchQuarters
      @MatchQuarters  Год назад

      When #3 or #4 "push" to the flat. Appreciate it, Coach!

    Stress seems really hard for the nickel. You need very athletic nickel to run man coverage there. I like special a lot or trap (vacate #1 once in awhile and box #2 and #3) ..until u get burned :/

      No more difficult than Special. Stress leverages the Ni inside & forces the throw outside & deep. Plus, it works the same mechanics he uses in a 2x2 formation. The only significant difference is he has to stay sticky on a vertical route because he is uncapped.

    In stress does the mike have to carry #3 out and up like sky or does the safety stay over the top of 3 when he goes out incase of the out and up route ?

    • @MatchQuarters
      @MatchQuarters  11 месяцев назад

      Good question... The Mike is "capped" by the FS, so he doesn't have to carry verticals. The Ni does, as the FS is now stretched over the #3 WR (why you call it STRESS).

    • @dylanfalso1035
      @dylanfalso1035 11 месяцев назад

      Thank you. So if you run special, instead of the safety staying over the top of 3 on an out the Ni picks up the out of 3 while the FS is now on #2 vertical right ? Special would be the way to pickup an out by #3 if that’s what your opponent runs the most out of trips?

    • @MatchQuarters
      @MatchQuarters  11 месяцев назад

      @@dylanfalso1035 It actually plays out similar to Stress, you are just playing with outside leverage w/ the Ni in Special. At the end of the day it is still a 3-Push.

    What would the adjustment be if...1&2 basically run a cross pattern where 2 releases a little quicker, "screening" the corner and 1 delays a step or two and finds grass about where the nickel begins or at around 7 yards? Assuming the 3 runs some sort of clearing pattern either vertical or across the middle?

    • @MatchQuarters
      @MatchQuarters  6 месяцев назад +1

      In Stump & Stress, the Ni & CB would just switch.

      @@MatchQuarters thanks! I've noticed one of the area high schools runs that concept maybe 3 times a game and it almost always results in the #1 being wide open and turning it quickly upfield for huge gains. It's a simple but phenomenal play. It blows my mind how well it works

    If #3 runs a 5 and out, and #2 runs a wheel. How do you defend that ?

    • @MatchQuarters
      @MatchQuarters  25 дней назад

      Double push, Ni takes the wheel, Mike takes the 5 yd out. CB & Safety can work to both verticals.

    if the nickel hangs and take 3 to the flat then mike pushes LATE TO THE FLAT to the back out late.
