The long straights on the modern tracks are getting boring.
no kidding, a car with DRS can be overtaken by a faster car using his slipstream after his overtake, drivers are going to have to account for that.
@@FranciscoGarcia-yt2jm people cry about DRS, but it was already a problem on the Brazil GP on a classic track.
Really was his FIRST lap wasn’t it.. I’ve never seen a wall tap on one of these laps before now 😮 took me dozens of laps to get comfortable on, such a bizarre track

This is gonna be a truly historical F1 race, people are going to be talking about it as a bizarre CF for decades to come, mark my words.
Wouldn't the cold help cool the "old aging pu's" ? Surely they can run the engine warm enough to operating temps by closing off some venting.

Not going to be that cold. People were thinking it would be in the 40s, it's forecasted (and stayed this way all week) to be upper 50s. 58/57f to start the race.

Also these are PERFECT temps for turbo engines. I drove a turbo car, best time of the year for free power and responsiveness.

@@der_pabst866it’s a different measurement of temperature using the metric scale. If the race is going to be around 58° Fahrenheit, then that’s equal to around 14°Celsius. Water freezes when below 0°C and boils at 100°C 👍🏼
I'm not sold on this track yet. Excited to see how it races live with all 20 cars out there though, may change my opinion.

Quite a deceptive track. Long straights that could use less downforce but some twists that require downforce for maximum speed and stability. I can see some cars crashing like the Saudi track due to rear slides.

This is great! The track in Vegas the town people gamble will be the same with the track because it’ll be a gamble for the drivers and teams each year because of the climate and the track layout
On the longest straight you can gain 3 till 5kph more if you don't go over the little bump on the right before you go under a bridge. By doing this you go of the racing line but you get higher top speed

3am qualify in NA in November in the desert....Good luck, its gonna be an ice skating rink for those tires.
it's just a few straights and slow speed corners. All the drivers will be focused on is trying to get the tires up to temperature. And the brakes as well. So expect drivers to miss their braking points, especially with the weather which is way too cold for these cars. This track is a joke

I keep saying it, and it’ll come true Saturday… this track is going to separate boys from men. It’s not gonna be an easy one. It’s odd how people aren’t understanding how F1 drivers love a challenge, and this track certainly is a challenge. They’re nervous now, but as soon as it’s time to do it you’ll see brilliance. Checo is going to do well on this track, I think Ferrari will do well if they run their Monza package. I’m calling it now that Mercedes is going to struggle hard with the straights
I'm hoping McLaren will have a good race and have Lando surpass Alonso, but who knows at this point! I can't wait to watch it tho
My man, it's not a challenge at all race-wise,, maybe quali. The corners are irrelevant because the straights are huge and preceded by enough high-speed sections where a driver can take risks to get within a second.
The quali might be interesting with some wall taps, but in the race, the cars will easily finish up in order of fastest to slowest... it's not like Monaco or anything...

If those Pirelli’s actually give these guys sufficient heat/grip to stop they will lay it all out in the straights which I really hope happens. I really do hope this race turns out fun for them and for us. What better place for a “huge gamble” 🤣👍🏼
