I used to work at a pet store as an aquatic specialist and a woman came up to me, absolutely freaking out, claiming that I was keeping the tiger barbs in one of the community tanks. I went over to see what she meant and she pointed to the tank with the clown loaches and said "You can't keep these aggressive barbs with these other community fish!". I said, "those are clown loaches not tiger barbs." Then she said "WHO TOLD YOU THAT?!!!!" so condescendingly. I fucking hated working retail. Pretentious fools trying to tell me what kind of fish we have. lolol.
It's the other way around for me. Always rude ass people working in the fish retail and try and make you look dumb. Like yes I want 50 fish to go in my 5 gallon tank. (Sarcasm) Not all of us are ignorant. I'm not gonna go in a store to purchase fish and not do my research. Annoys me.
For the first 15 seconds of the video, I'm thinking, "that guy's no more than 6" tops"...then at 16 seconds, "oh, ok" as the beast enters the shot. Nice loach! The tank looks awesome too.
That is one handsome fish you have there! We have 2 clown loaches that are about a year and a half old and they are obviously nowhere near as big but I can't wait to see them grow into such majestic fish! Do you mind if I ask a question? We have found that they are the first to 'greet' any new additions to our tank (4' x 1' x 1'6") and love nothing more than to quite literally show them round. They are inseparable but love hanging out with the albino red finned shark that we have. Have you found that yours are quite sociable too?
Beautiful. Becoming my favourite fish. I’ve got two but these guys look great in a school along with silver dollars. How do they live with the red tailed shark?
Freeze the frame at 0:26 and it is obvious that this fish is much closer to seven inches. But that's o.k., I think every pet owner likes to both exaggerate and embellish the details of their pets. It is a healthy fish. I have 31 Clowns in a 300 gallon and keep more smaller individuals in a 72 gallon bow front tank.
I have two dojos (golden) and one clown. They do just fine. All three are 3 or 4 years old. Excellent substrate janitors! Keep them fed with frozen meat cubes - the ones sold at pet stores - and they'll be happy as can be. Only difference behavior-wise I've seen is that clowns tend to hang out near the bottom and mind their own business, whereas dojos are highly curious and will get real close to your arm if you reach in to move a rock or something like that. But, know this - Dojos require the temperature be kept under 80 degrees. Anything higher will stress them out and if continued, make them sick and eventually die.
damn my clown died at 4 1/2 inches. that is an awesome redtail shark. I have 2. 1 in the 46 gallon and a big one in the 125. the big one in the 125 is barely under 6 inches ! how big is your redtail ?
benjamin wickes how big is this tank and how big could you expect a clown loach to grow in this tank, im thinking entering the hobbie again and clown loaches are my favourate fish! last time i didnt have a very big tank and struggled to see anything grow significantly so if you could answer with some detail on there sizes in relation to tank size or even just in your case that would be awsome, thx richard :)
I have a few at 6-7" the biggest was 9" but unfortunately the biggest one died, can only assume the cause was constipation, stopped eating for two days and I return from work he was gone.
Haha, yeh, unfortunately she died! Unknown cause. Came home from work and she was dead! I think constipation! They are amazing fish, but you need a by tank for them and they need to be in groups of 5 or more!
Wow, I used to have a clown loach, but it sadly died after a month. I also have a red tail shark, but it is tiny compared to your tank's ones. My tank is 64 litres, nothing too big
What is that Ram? You have 1 yellow and blue 1. I know the yellow is most likely a gold ram but the Blue?????? Never seen that, and it looks nothing like a blue electric 1:05 Upper left corner
Joshua Kosloski I wish they were paired, they pair up pretty well, but the other fish become an issue then! I think a tank solely for the rams would be better!
Just curious At 0:14 on the right. What fish is the brown fish next to Clown Loaches that look's like a Clown Loach but brown. Thanks in advance ! Plus your tank is beautiful ! :)
hey.. I'm after some advice, I have a 3" tiger Oscar and 3 clown loach all approximately 5" so bigger than the Oscar, they sort of tolerate each other but my Oscar is always chasing them, would this be classed as bullying, I just don't want the clown loach getting really stressed by this if that is at all possible.. He doesn't hurt them but it looks pretty annoying
Hi i notice you have wood in your tank, I'm just wondering how you have managed to stop it from turning your water to and orangey colour? I am having great difficulty with my wood, as it will turn my water orange! I'd appreciate it if you responded! Beautiful loach by the way!
Hi there. The brown colouring seeping from your wood is called Tannins. It's found in all wood and you have to soak or boil (boiling is a lot faster) the wood to get all of the tannins out before putting it in your tank. The good news though is that the tannins don't negatively affect your fish in any way except for possibly lowering the pH of the water. Besides that, it just doesn't look good. :P If you boil the wood then I recommend boiling until the water turns as dark as possible, and then dump the water and replace it with fresh water. Repeat until the water doesn't change colour anymore. If your piece of wood is too big to boil in any sort of pot, then just put it into a large container to soak in hot water instead. That process could take up to weeks or months though, from what I've read.
They say it's a social fish so I wonder would 2 clowns be alright or do they need larger schools to stay happy? Love the way they look but I can't house more than 2-3 of them in my 90 gallon.
I used to work at a pet store as an aquatic specialist and a woman came

😂😂😂 some people have no idea, she the kind of person to have silver sharks in her 1ft long community tank.
benjamin wickes
Yeah, exactly! I'm so glad to no longer be in retail. lol
Annoys me.
I keep 21 tetrazona with 24 cardinal tetra and 4 angelfish. And 1 red tail shark. No problems
@@benle4 would be cool if you had some killifish uptop
For the first 15 seconds of the video, I'm thinking, "that guy's no more than 6" tops"...then at 16 seconds, "oh, ok" as the beast enters the shot. Nice loach! The tank looks awesome too.
The same!
Thats a big yoyo loach also!
I have five clown loaches. My oldest is over 10 years old. It is not as big as yours. You are doing a great job keeping all your fish so healthy.
Great group of loaches especially the monster! Where did you find the orange tubes?
That is one handsome fish you have there! They live for years. Up to 80 lol.

It's really a nice tank!
Wow great looking clowns! Are they still doing okay?
How many years?
Love your tank dude!
Same!
Beautiful. Becoming my favourite fish. I’ve got two but these guys look great in a school along with silver dollars. How do they live with the red tailed shark?

I have two dojos (golden) and one clown. They do just fine. All three are 3 or 4 years old. Excellent substrate janitors! Keep them fed with frozen meat cubes - the ones sold at pet stores - and they'll be happy as can be.

I believe you are reading your tape measure wrong. Inches are on the top.
From the end of his tail to the tip of his nose, stretches from the 4" marker to the 12" marker, so 8" sorry, but definitely not 8cm.
I love the little gold ram
damn my clown died at 4 1/2 inches. that is an awesome redtail shark. I have 2. 1 in the 46 gallon and a big one in the 125. the big one in the 125 is barely under 6 inches ! how big is your redtail ?
The red tail is about 5 inches long, doesn't seen to be getting any bigger or any fatter though!
still, yours is one of the best looking ones I have seen. how long have you had yours ?
benjamin wickes how big is this tank and how big could you expect a clown loach to grow in this tank, im thinking entering the hobbie again and clown loaches are my favourate fish! last time i didnt have a very big tank and struggled to see anything grow significantly so if you could answer with some detail on there sizes in relation to tank size or even just in your case that would be awsome, thx richard :)

Yeah. It's a blue electric mate haha 👍🏽
benjamin wickes ahhhhhhh!!!!! Are they paired? I wonder what their offspring would be.
Joshua Kosloski I wish they were paired, they pair up pretty well, but the other fish become an issue then! I think a tank solely for the rams would be better!
benjamin wickes hahaha, well I'm just glad someone finally has the right tank size for a bala shark!
Joshua Kosloski I've seen them in such tiny tanks bless them!
would a 55 gallon long be good to keep 1 clown fish?
+Little Caesar Clown loaches need to be kept in groups - keeping one is unnatural and unhealthy.
+Jane Chan I see thanks
Just curious At 0:14 on the right. What fish is the brown fish next to Clown Loaches that look's like a Clown Loach but brown. Thanks in advance ! Plus your tank is beautiful ! :)

Hi i notice you have wood in your tank, I'm just wondering how you have managed to stop it from turning your water to and orangey colour? I am having great difficulty with my wood, as it will turn my water orange! I'd appreciate it if you responded! Beautiful loach by the way!

Clown Loaches are one of my favorite fish; and I hate to see them in tiny tanks... =)
+Christopher Reinert yeh same mate the only fish keeping me from switching to marine! I hate when shops sell them to people with new starter tanks.
I love your tank, you should do a video of just the tank and all the fish in its.
Wobbe gong unfortunately my tank is being sold next month! 😭 I’ve moved house and no longer have the space!
Thats kinda sad, thats a really nice tank
How big is your aquarium?

They say it's a social fish so I wonder would 2 clowns be alright or do they need larger schools to stay happy? Love the way they look but I can't house more than 2-3 of them in my 90 gallon.
