I love you so much for this Eric. If you just keep doing Khruangbin lessons I’d be ok with that. “People everywhere” is another great track from this album. Mark has been one of my fav modern guitarists, cool to see him get more recognition lately.
Fantastic lesson from a great band. Beyond their world music/funk/r&b influence, Mark said in an interview that his main admiration and influence for his tone/playing is Ernie Isley from the Isley Brothers. Thanks Eric! 👏🏼
Love seeing you talk about Khruangbin! I don’t hear people talk about them much from the rock/guitar world and I think it’s such a shame because they’re stuff is so musical and sick. Mark’s playing is so tasteful!
It is important that a teacher shows and says they are constantly learning. Thank you., Warren also suggested a technique of using a wah open on a bass through a guitar amp to add to a "wall of sound". Thanks for being a great teacher.
The teenage me would never engage a wah pedal and not go to town on it. The adult me is intrigued by the tonal possibilities.... but would still not be able to resist lol. Great video Eric.
Gem of a professional. Eric bless your heart. im not sure if your produce all you videos and editing solo but im always happy im alive when you post a video
Thank you very Very much for this and all you do . My buddy got me into this band recently and I'm very excited to learn this. You are appreciated my friend.
finally! so great to see this. man that wah trick is awesome i think i first saw that being utilized in the great doc "last days at the fillmore" by quicksilver messenger service. totally changed my idea of tone when approaching a lot of music.
Thanks for another excellent lesson, Eric! I pretty much got it down with one play through because its so catchy and was demonstrated so well. Not executed perfectly but understood and working it up to speed now. Fiddly-doos aren't easy. Still bought the tab to show my appreciation. The new site looks good and I'm stoked to have the backing track to jam with! Its going to be a fun Saturday, thanks!
nice carpet. reminds me of some asian buddhist or hinduism motivs. appears like an old memory. thanks for your video. you make a huge impact and it definetely will return to you
Been with you following the channel for years and just got into this band a week or so ago.. fun little synchronicity for me. Great tone on this song too btw 😎
I can’t believe it took me sooo long to watch this video! One of my all-time favourite bands and my all-time favourite teacher! I know which tab I’m grabbing from your store next time 😅 And yeah, I saw that Bobby McFerrin clip about the pentatonic scale too! 👍
If they teach your stuff on RUclips you arrived. Remember when they were just a cool local band I liked but said: " instrumental band! They need a good singer " who knew!
Great video, thanks so much! I think you would play the note lengths in the song differently if you didnt use that much reverb, dunno whats best. Keem em' coming
I don't have a wah but trying this was a fun lesson lol. Eric, I was wondering if you listen to and play any of the guitar parts from Tom Waits material? I watched a video from a guy called Danny Eddy and learned a lot about how guitars are used in Waits' music. Really opened my ear up and I discovered a lot of great players.
Great song. I recommended/asked for a lesson on this from another one of my Patreon guys a few years back and never heard back. Maybe you intercepted the email!!!!
How Ironic is this, I got an ad for you before Cardi B's Money? Almost as great as the Top Gun trailer before a NOFX song. This algorithm doesn't seem to be too nuanced.
This might have ruined Khruangbin for me. I can't help thinking "fiddly doo" every time Mark Speer fiddly-doos. He does it a lot. Fiddly doo, fiddly doo!
My fave guitar teacher teaching my fav band. What a treat!
Eric is the man!! im with you!!
Always amazing how the great players can take the major pentatonic and make it sound so compelling and fresh.
I’m a huge Khruangbin fan and a huge Eric Haugen fan… perfect together!
Never heard of Khruangbin before this, now I’m hooked!
Best elevator music ever lol
Listen to Dearest Alfred

Yeah! The Isley Bros are often overlooked but they're great!
And Kassav’ 👌😌
One of my favorite tracks from one of my favorite bands. My body is ready
fantastic tone lesson from Khruangbin
Love that you played this! Khruangbin are my favourite.
Love seeing you talk about Khruangbin! I don’t hear people talk about them much from the rock/guitar world and I think it’s such a shame because they’re stuff is so musical and sick. Mark’s playing is so tasteful!
My favourite band! 💛
J'adore Khruangbin. Grandissimi. And Bravo to you!
Awesome lesson! This time a year ago I had never heard of Khruangbin but nowadays i'm obsessed with them!
It is important that a teacher shows and says they are constantly learning. Thank you., Warren also suggested a technique of using a wah open on a bass through a guitar amp to add to a "wall of sound". Thanks for being a great teacher.
Yes! It's very important to know that we know nothing!
Love Khruangbin, was literally just trying to learn how to play this! Great timing.
Eric you’re a textural guru, perfect every time!
Great choice for a very cool lesson with lots of great insights! Thank you so much for all of your work on this and...more Khruangbin!
This one in particular was really great. Thanks for making these lessons available!
Thank you so much for this lesson, you are a truly inspiring teacher!
Thanks! We need more Khruangbin guitar lesson videos!!!
The teenage me would never engage a wah pedal and not go to town on it. The adult me is intrigued by the tonal possibilities.... but would still not be able to resist lol. Great video Eric.
Going to see them this June! Mark is a favorite of mine. 🖤🖤👍👍
Hey I can’t be watching everything but Eric certainly never falters as his ethos is 100% helping massively thanks Eric what a lovely teacher
Gem of a professional. Eric bless your heart. im not sure if your produce all you videos and editing solo but im always happy im alive when you post a video
Thanks man! It's all me - can't afford to pay someone else to do it!
Been waiting for a khruangbin video for a long time
Great lesson, beautiful music! Bought the tabs and pls more of Khruangbin and similar!!
Love lessons about feel and texture, thanks so much, Eric! ✌️😌🎸
Another fun tune to play if you want those Wes Montgomery octaves is Brian Auger & The Trinity's "Isola Natale".
I love this song. Thanks for covering it Eric. Sounding good. The pick attack is perfect! lol
I saw them live in the summer and I haven't been the same since lol
You have amazing taste
I've been playing a lot of these guys lately but haven't got to this tune yet. Thanks!
Thank you Eric!
Great video and teaching style 🙏
King gizzard and the lizard wizard also use the always-on wah trick a bunch as well
Thank you very Very much for this and all you do . My buddy got me into this band recently and I'm very excited to learn this. You are appreciated my friend.
Syrupy sweet tone ya got there!!!!! ❤❤❤
Cool, a new band to me. Listened to a few of their songs. What sticks out to me is the bass and drums. Great groove. Makes me want to play bass.
Tremelo picking tip very appreciated
finally! so great to see this. man that wah trick is awesome i think i first saw that being utilized in the great doc "last days at the fillmore" by quicksilver messenger service. totally changed my idea of tone when approaching a lot of music.
i have been really enjoying the dub version of this song...i like what Mark does with expression pedal to adjust the delay time. Cool stuff

great breakdown....thank you
Instrumental Khraungbin is the best Khraungbin.
Indeed. Also love the medleys they do. The hip hop one is 🔥.
Great tutorial, thank you!
Another band to look up , thanks buddy 👍
ohhhhh.... I will be trying this tonight
This chord progression lends itself to much inspiration 😁

Thanks so much my buddy!
Need to be in corrugated metal side barn in Burton, TX to get that sound + they use a Fisher Space Expander reverb
Been with you following the channel for years and just got into this band a week or so ago.. fun little synchronicity for me. Great tone on this song too btw 😎

One of my all-time favourite bands and my all-time favourite teacher!

Thank you!
Wes Montgomery ❤️
Never heard of this band - super cool. Going down the rabbit hole! Thanks. Hoping for your next truefire course to come out soon.....just sayin'

Wow. Had not seen that amp in ages.
P.S.
Love Khruangbin.
Yeah! I re-borrowed it - MAN ITS GOOD.
BIG glass BIG Iron = nice full hi-fi sound
@@EricHaugenGuitar Sure sounds tasty.
🤯🤯🤯 worlds are colliding
NICE!

YES!!
Any tips for achieving this sound with the presets in Fender Tone? Have a GTX 100
“Plurp” goes the grace note…

There are a number of Marc Ribot (Tom Waits guitarist) tracks on Eric’s channel.
I LOVE Tom Waits/Marc Ribot and have a whole playlist of lessons!

What we're You singing when You checked your tuning??
Can you try teaching the Number 3 by Khruangbin?
I'll add it to my list!
thank you for not calling out fret numbers! It's so BORING. 10 on the 2nd string to 14 on the 2nd string. Paint by number morning sky...Looks so phony
I will get by!
Great song. I recommended/asked for a lesson on this from another one of my Patreon guys a few years back and never heard back. Maybe you intercepted the email!!!!
Leaving the wah cocked on creates an out of phase sound like peter green
I’m so mad that I’m just discovering this video now
Book lessons? You have book lessons Eric?
I wish!
I mean "book" as in "schedule" one-on-one zoom sessions with me :-)
How Ironic is this, I got an ad for you before Cardi B's Money?
Almost as great as the Top Gun trailer before a NOFX song.
This algorithm doesn't seem to be too nuanced.
Slide on the wild side..... 😂
,😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
So hard to see what notes you are playing without calling out the frets or really slowing down
Plerp
This might have ruined Khruangbin for me. I can't help thinking "fiddly doo" every time Mark Speer fiddly-doos. He does it a lot. Fiddly doo, fiddly doo!
