  • On the 22nd episode of ⁠⁠#TheStandard⁠⁠ host Taylor Bateman sits down with the Charger's Scott Matlock.
    They discussed his journey from Homedale High School to Boise State to the NFL, working to bring honor to his last name, and the impact that playing for Jim Harbaugh has had on him.
    Matlock was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the sixth round, 200th overall, of the 2023 NFL draft.
    While primarily a defensive tackle at Boise State, Matlock also caught two touchdowns lining up as a tight end. Prior to the start of the 2024 season, the Chargers under new head coach Jim Harbaugh listed Matlock as their starting fullback while continuing to keep him part of their defensive line rotation.
    Named the 2018 Idaho Press Tribune Sports Inspirational Athlete of the Year...was named to the 2017 3A All-Idaho Second Team as an offensive lineman, and earned spots on the 3A All-Snake River Valley First Team as both a defensive lineman and tight end...in 2017, he made 22 catches for 330 yards and five touchdowns in his tight end role, while making 57 tackles on defense, including 13 for loss and five sacks...also lettered in basketball and golf at Homedale.
