Man, this game was heads and shoulders above the New Super Mario Bros game in innovation, and I love how they made a flat-out 2D Mario platformer game fully 3D and have it work so well!
This is one of the more fun Bowser battles, even if it is easy. The castle part before is a little too short IMO, 90% of it took place on skull rafts. However the second half of the Bowser fight more than makes up for it when he's shooting those purple fireballs at you

I'll say this as many times as I need, but that final boss theme NEEDS a remix. It's so underrated that it's sad. This is one of those games that get's mostly forgoten. Not just this game, but this game's OST as well

At that last part where you break the blocks and you have to run, it seems like bowser is desperate, and like he is actually going for the kill on mario, and not even using his 1-tap-ko fireball. I died many times on that part, within myselff and in the game. o7
To be honest: I feel Bowser is just not the bad guy. Literally, if you take a close look, Peach owns only 1 Castle. Look at Bowser. Look at how much he owns and uses. Bowser just wants love. He has a rather sad past to the torment he went through. He goes after Peach over his want for love. Maybe it's wrong that Mario hurts him. Maybe Mario and Luigi need to understand Bowser and his hurtful past.

@@hek_boy9564 It is way better in person. The quality has reduced due to the image/video being scaled to a much larger size resulting in compression alongside the compression artefact caused by uploading it to RUclips and the pixels being stretched resulting in less image clarity
Man I remember this game like it was yesterday, it is quite amazing! I remember playing it for the first time when I was like 7 and man I just fell in love with the game! But you wanna know something that was kinda stupid of me, when I got to world 5 castle (this is all me playing the game for the first time btw) I realized I couldn't unlocked the level because of not enough star coins, that's because I was kinda careless in finding star coins. I only found star coins that were really easy to get and moved on with my life without looking back. It wasn't until I got a hold of YT, after watching a few videos of where the rest of the star coins were in each level, I was able to unlock world 5 castle and complete the level. That's the story of me thinking star coins were not that important. The farthest I've ever gotten in this game was the first few levels of Special world 8 (W-S8) that's because the levels need an "F" ton of star coins, some of those star coins for ME were very hard to get.
1:29 As far as I remember, whenever you see that many Fireballs coming at you, most of the time that would usually mean that you are getting closer to Bowser.
Some might ask how to get the final crown level in Special world 8 so I'll explain. After you beat Special world 8's final castle, you have to do the final castle in World 8 again like this person did(Glad we didn't need to collect the star medals in there cause we already collected them). And then, go back to the worlds and you'll have to beat every stage with both Mario & Luigi. You have to get all gold poles. Collect all star 3 medals in each stage. After all this done, you will unlock the final crown level in Special world 8, so beat it and you have completed this game like I did. But watch out! The final crown level won't be easy as we thought!!
It was probably just you, but to me, this course was the BANE of my existence. Took me a straight week to beat it. I got lucky I had performed the infinite life trick earlier in 1-2. Then again, that was 2012.

Well even though this game requires a separate run button, for some strange reason, the game still has great controls that feel more like the game is designed for this systems controller and it feels like the systems controller is designed for this game too. On that note, I like this game better than Super Mario 64 DS because it’s so much easier to control. 3D Land really shows what the 3DS can do. 64 DS tried to demonstrate what the DS could do but also demonstrated what the system was lacking, just saying.
This to me is better than 3D World's final boss. While that one was way more chaotic and over the top crazy, it was really boring gameplay wise due to how slow the autoscroll is. This one feels rightfully intense the whole way through, especially in the second phase when he shoots the purple fire. The music is great too.

Well this was what made me brake my 3ds when I was little. From there my 3ds would only charge for 5 seconds then the orange light would turn off. Wouldn't turn on either.

That was scary when I first played bowser running forwards the screen. He seemed to move a lot faster from that angle. 😜
