  • I know I said I was going to upload all week but I just got to busy after work with doing house renovations, my apologies!
Finished up the garage excavations and moved over to this bunk excavation, will also be doing a new septic here after we backfill.

That is a lot of stick for that saw (I should know, I have one, looks like a 0-29 pro anyway) and when I knocked over big trees in my yard (I have a lot of trees much much bigger than that one) I borrowed my neighbors 0-44 with a 50" bar. Not that I am saying you should have gone for a bigger saw, I was just impressed you took it down and apart with that one.
Chainsaws are super usefull in the tight canyon in the Oregon Coast Range where I live. I have five, and old 0-30, the 29 and a 19 so my wife could limb. Then the two battery saws, a Makita and a 14 foot extendable poll saw. But the biggest trees on my property would take a two man saw, but I wont ever remove any more big ones, I just had to knock a couple down that were dyeing and going to fall on the house. I love the trees here. Between them and the ferns and other stuff it is always super green here from the forest floor to the hole canopy where the house and drives are.

MAN, root systems are amazing. I love watching weekend warriors just down a giant tree then sit there and say "Im just gonna use my sawsall to get the roots and stump out." Sure, ok, guy.
As much as I hate to do it (nature n all), there is something oddly satisfying about cutting down a tree and falling it RIGHT where you want it to go. Its not difficult but somehow fills me with "aww f yeh" every time I do it haha

Why do you use chainsaw to take down the threes when you already got you excavator at the site? A few buckets dig up around the root and your excavator should lay the threes down nicely, plus it likely gets easier to not only get the stump, but the roots as well. Should do wonders for cutting down on the hours. Yeah and to answer your Q, keep digging, keep shooting and people will be watching. You figure out the lens angles and what not as you go.
