Stratego - Ranked Game on Strategus #58

Nice game against Frosty, who is my experience is a pretty aggressive player. I had a pretty decent start, and despite giving a lot of info in terms of my mid-range pieces, my defense held firm against him onslaught. GG.

Hi, was wondering if you could make some tutorials for complete newbies, including how to set up, make decisions etc. currently about elo 50 (lol) on strategus, really don't know about the game that much :) ty

Once you were up two majors you should have used them to guard the choke points.

I think it's because it was guarded by a known colonel, so if the marshal was actually a weak piece, then fairway wouldn't have gotten any extra info by taking it (since it would be recaptured by the known colonel).

Yeah. Normally, if a piece acting like that is guarded by a colonel, it wouldn't be smart to take it because I already know what the piece guarding it is (colo)... doesn't get me any info. And he was hoping I would assume that piece was weaker than my lieut since he chose not to take my lieut. Unfortunately for him I remembered that he is often very aggressive and guessed it might be the marsh!
