a very accurate portrayal of what it feels like to get blue shelled right at the end of the last lap
Word on that. Blue shell screwed me over quite a few times in 200cc mode of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe by hitting me right before the finish line.

General Koopa, showing his true colors as a menace, nicely foreshadows his transformation into the most unforgiving item in Mario Kart.

As an avid Mario Kart fan, this scene put the biggest smile on my face in the theater.

But it was too serious. What happened to the rainbow road fun music? This could've been the best scene in the movie if they made it less james bond and more light hearted and fun. Ugh! (Don't believe me? Think of what i just said and watch it again lol)

@supermariogamer1757 playing it since the early 90s, yes its the track to beat but I would say that scene needed more life. The intensity was fine but it didn't fit the movie as a whole. The way the ending could've been better with both Mario and Luigi using different items to beat the heck out of Bowser. It would've been fun! Lol
The camera movements starting at 1:10/4:41 all the way to 1:37/4:41 is one of the most impressive angles I’ve ever seen. The shots go from wide to medium to close in seconds. I’m mostly impressed with the upside down tilting shot.
That must've taken a lot of work and effort to storyboard, edit and animate one of the biggest action sequences in the movie. Bravo y'all!

Not the only one to get traumatized by the blue shell. "Ringmaster", the host of DBX, wound up revealing such trauma in the fourth episode of the mini-show "Death Race" while introducing Mario, implying that not only has he played a game in the series, but also got screwed over by a blue shell.
Everyone hates the blue shell, especially when you play Mario Kart.

I don't think there's a way to stop the blue shell from killing you. I haven't played Mario kart in a long time.
Well I know in Mario Kart 7, you're able to use a mushroom to dodge it as it strikes
You have to have crazy luck and get a star and like the other dude said a good well ti.e mushroom blast reduces the chance. But you would have to be a daily day 1 Mario Kart player...someone out there is.
In Mario Kart 8 they added an item called the Super Horn. It destroys any items near the user, including the blue shell.

You don't know the context of the scene, Koopa general was after Mario the whole time. Dk and Mario blew up his kart near the end so that's why he went for them

Here’s one of the things I’ve noticed when I first watched the movie. Mario makes a lot of anime like sounds. Like here 0:26, here 1:13, and here 2:26. He actually makes a lot more of these sounds throughout the movie. Most Mario games have text based dialogue (plus Mario is a silent protagonist) and they’ll make a lot of grunts and hums. Mario does a lot. I’m not sure this a reference or anything.
