I am a designer. And trying to launch a local language tshirt. So I need good mockup. I don't find much good free mock ups in place it or canva. Do you have any solutions for this?
Hi Greg! For me,You are the best teacher on pod, you inspire me alot!..very clear explanation..your videos are informative and full of values..Thanks for that Godbless!:)
@@hrishikesh07m Hey Ray, the mockups on Placeit are the best (hands down). I recommend getting 1 month subscription to their site and downloading as many mockups as you can during that time. It'll be worth every bit of the $12 :)
Hi! What if I use a design like for example a car or any symbol and changed the text as I like. And put it on Teespring. But someone else have used it before me with another text. What will Teespring do? My intention is not to copy others, but what if 2 people in same niche uses same design samples at Placeit or Canva?
Hi Greg, you're doing a great job on this channel! I'm just starting out with POD and I'm trying to implement all of the things you say, so I have 3 questions. 1. You said that we only need to advertise our teespring storefronts on instagram, because there's a trust score, but should we also advertise merch by amazon designs, as you said that we need to make a sale in the first 180 days in order for our designs to stay there? 2. Mockups are great, but are you saying that we actually need them just to get those first few sales for the trust score, and then never again? 3. Last question, what would you say is the minimum number of designs (listings) per niche storefront in order to start getting sales. I know it depends on the niche and how good the designs are, but what would be your rough estimation?
Hey greg, just wanted to know what the everyday routine for a print on demand seller should be. How many designs a day? Do I do multiple niches and how should those designs be divides? IG posts? Thank you and I am fully dedicated full time.
Hi Greg, when using PlaceIt is it ok that the only option is 72 DPI when 300 DPI is often recommended for print? When I see my designs on Teespring the edges sometimes look kind of jagged or grainy and I'm afraid this would put people off buying. Thanks

Hi Gregg, this helps a lot! Canva Pro added some mockups since your videos. Not as elaborate as Placeit but, you get the idea. You can also upload your own pictures if you so choose.. Great content! Thank you so much!
I am a Placeit fan all the way. Paid for a year subscription and I love it. I used Canva but not sold at it yet. Maybe I will in the future but for now Placeit works very well for me. Simplicity and efficiency blows Canva out of the water.
I just paid for Canva Pro. I'm using it to make a logo for my channel. I also want to import my hand-drawings into templates like a comic strip. And I want to use my hand-drawings on T-shirts (though I'd have to learn how to add colour in Illustrator, SumoPaint or ProCreate). Do you find that PlaceIt does everything Canva does, so you don't need both?
You are a godsend Greg! A genuinely good person who wants to help others. I have subscribed to you and am following your tutorials. Wish me luck! I lost my job and need the income. More power to you ❤️
Your timing is impeccable as I've been using Canva and recently discovered Placeit and was on the fence. Your review and code tipped the scales. Many thanks for the great content!
Great video and I concur with your comments. I have just used PlaceIt to design my T-shirts etc for my RUclips channel store. I found PlaceIt much easier to use than Canva.. I took the monthly plan on Placeit. Maybe I’ve become a nerd lol but I love designing stuff on it lol 🫡 thank you Scotty 🍀
That's awesome to hear, thanks for taking the time to write this Scotty. I agree, I use Placeit for nearly everything. Sometimes I find myself going to Canva for something very specific though (last thing was to create and entire ebook because Placeit only has the cover design and mockups). Anyways, thanks for the comment and glad you are having a good time designing!
You can actually search for mockups on Canva photos.. they don’t have an extensive selection like Place it and they don’t have models but you can get some lifestyle mockups. I recently started using place it designs and it’s pretty awesome! I also love that it shows it on models while you are creating it!
Sold my first item on redbubble yesterday. Just $1.27 for a face mask but my first ever online sale, super proud. Took about a month. I actually use both of these tools. I like placeit a lot but get frustrated when trying to do just text, canva is better. But place it is killer for logos and intricate designs, and color palettes you don't have to think up on your own. Canva is my go-to for insta posts. Thanks Greg!
Hi Greg im brazilian but living in japan thanks for you advices i just started my print om demand at amazon and just used your placeit coupon thanks !!!!!
Agreed! They are solid tools.. I definitely use placeit far more but I come back to canva every once in a while for small things here and there :) Great to have them both!
Hi Greg. Really appreciate the insightful transparent info you provide. Navigating my way through all the other available tutorials, I always find myself back on your channel. Taking your advice and starting my online business. Your grateful new subscriber.
This makes me so happy! Thank you for watching and I’m so happy you’re finding the videos helpful! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions 😊

Can we get a Thanks Greg in the chat for his awesome channel? It’s been about 3 weeks and finally landed my first sale! I’m so thankful for his helpful vids! I’ve followed all his advice along the way and kept going with it even though I started losing hope! Keep it up Greg your awesome! 🙌
Oh wow... You engage!? I luv u! Ok, quick question... I know you gave us a formula, but based off of your expertise, if I wanted to bring in minimum $1000 per week, how many shirts should I list & at what price? (Ball-park estimate).
@@KareesBrown Happy to help! The formula holds pretty true in the long run. It's average about $1/per active listing/per month (and that goes for Teespring, Merch by Amazon, and RedBubble). Hope that makes sense, for example 333 shirts on each site is about $1000/mo total (or $333/mo from each site). Every time I make a sale, I get between $2-$10 depending on how big the margin is set on that product. The $1 I'm talking about is to give you a best average on my entire accounts earnings per month. You may have 1000 designs live, but only make 200 sales that month. Not every design will sell every month. So if we are averaging between $2-10 per sale (and we got 200 per month) that averages $1000 profit that month. With 1000 designs, that comes out to about $1 per active design on the account. I hope that helps!
Great comparison. Easy to understand. I'm currently using Canva for 12.95 per mth and also have a free account. I have 2 different programs running at the same time. Put will change to Placeit just for the mock ups. Cheaper then having models. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Kudos!
I’m new to your channel. Your videos are the best!! They are instructive and time saving. This video is currently the uncertainty I was going through. Since Canva’s online terms aren’t the clearest.
Greg Gottfried Today I bought 1 year subscription of Placeit (thank you for the discount-15%🤩) I’m in the process of learning the software...Is it true that Merch by Amazon are closed? I’m planning to get an invitation and hoping I will be accepted (just keep my finger cross🙏)
Greg Gottfried even though there is a big range, would are realistic expectations of monthly net revenue following your pod recommendations after 3 months or 6 months of uploading 30-40 quality designs per week to the 3 sites? Have you done or would you do a video on that topic? Thanks again
lol right on! They are both awesome, and solid tools to keep in the arsenal. I agree, I use Placeit something like 95% of the time but still use Canva for small things here and there.
Guys let me tell you this! I've been following Greg a couple months as the only person for advice on launching a clothing line via print on demand, and I was struggling with designs until he did a vid about placeit and boi oh boi. Some days i'm knocking out 15+ designs in my free time. It's so easy to use once you get accustom to. Gna remain my go to. I'm looking to start uploading them and doing test prints in August. Thank for the great info Greg! I'm going to travel see you and pop a bottle of champagne when I become successful lol P.S. still trying to get on to merch by Amazon though, they're playing hardball >_< lol
My goodness....you are amazing and very informative. New subbie for sure!!!! Staring my etsy page and Ive been on fiverr.....I can clearly do this myself
Want to say I love your videos and it’s so kind of you to share your knowledge with us for free. So in this video you talk about placit. What’s the difference between it and merchant which you talk about in several videos.
I personally enjoy Placeit, but theres a few details that I noticed while using it: Like for example, when it comes to typing words on a design. There’s some designs or templates that have a limited amount of typing space or characters, and you can’t type more letters or words. Or there’s times that Placeit doesn’t always have the icons you’re looking for. Also, if you want to make the text round on certain designs you can’t do it unless the template is made that certain way. In my case I have to download it and add those stuff or fix them on either Canva or Photoshop. If I created the video, I mention those details as cons on Placeit. However, I enjoy Placeit a lot but those are a few details I noticed while using it. Thanks for your amazing content Greg, I won’t ever let you down on your videos. 👌
that is something I am curious about, but what about down/up loading from Creative Fabrica? have you tried that? how does that work with placeit vs canva?
Hey Greg, Been loving the videos lately, do you think you could make a video on how to make that transition from print on demand and selling someone else's design, to having your own brand and unique shirts that no one else is selling? Thanks
Right on! I appreciate that, and thank you for taking the time to comment too. I agree, I personally use Placeit for all of my designing now. It's just easier, faster, and has more options. Also the mockups feature is fantastic. Thanks again for the comment and if you have any questions as you're going along just let me know!
Thank you Greg for the discount link to Placeit.net, I was able to sign up annually for $76.23 per year. Your video solidified my urge to go with Placeit.net. Great advice in all of your work, thanks again!
My apologies if you've answered this question already, but have you got any opinions about using Google's Keyword Planner? It seems to be free for anyone with a google account. Have you tried it, and if yes, do you find it useful? How does it compare to other keyword tools? Thanks!
Hey thanks for asking! Video coming Tuesday about this :) In short, Keyword Planner us good but it uses general internet search data and not print on demand specific data. The information you get could be wrong because it's using a ton of extra data points.
Although you can't use transparent on free Canva, you CAN upload it to Placeit and resize and make background transparent there. I have a Placeit subscription, so I'm not sure if that's why I can upload or if it's also an option on free plan, but it's something to look into.
Hey Greg! I needed to know when my listings are public and I haven't made any sales, the search feature of Teespring doesn't give any result of my storefront even if I search with keywords or exact store title. So does it work after we get those initial 2/10 sales they require to build the trust score? Let me know whenever you can. Thanks again. :)
Very helpful and informative video! I like how you get straight to the point and provide so mich information about these things. Keep up the great work!
Is it possible to start from a "blank" template on PlaceIt like you can with Canva? Say... you design some text through Typorama and have your own graphic to add. I can go into Cavna pro, drop both in, adjust etc... download a transparent version and put it on a shirt. Is that process possible with a paid subscription to PlaceIt? Sometimes, I don't want to use their pictures/color schemes but I do want to use their mock-ups. It would be nice to only use (and pay for!) one source to do both "from scratch" designing and tweaking pre-made design templates. Maybe its just a matter of picking a pre-made one and deleting everything to get to a blank slate, but that seems like a pain - a "blank template" would be perfect. Thoughts/recommendations?
LOVE these videos! HUGE inspiration to starting my online business ventures! Thank you so so much Greg! ....... In regards to Teespring do you really need to create seperate Storefronts/Storenames/emails for each specific niche you want to make stores for ?
I have been wondering this same thing as have many many others. But no one ever answers this one. Anyone know this?? Does each niche need a different store. For example if I want to do stuff on dogs and hiking and cars, do i need 3 different stores? Or one store with different categories? Thanx!
Rock on! Great video as always. By the way my daughter is working and 10 designs. However, she insists on drawing all of them individually. So she’s not doing lots of designs As you suggest in mini videos but she’s working on it Thanks for all your advice
Thanks for the comment Rick! That's still awesome to hear.. Getting into the flow of uploading and the feel for how it all works is valuable in itself. Who knows, maybe some of her original drawn designs will take off and go viral! All the best to you and your daughter Rick! As always, if you have any questions I can help with just let me know!
Hey Greg!Iam in Africa I have tried so many times to pay for placeit membership but its not going through.I don't know what is the problem in their side. I buy things online and it has never been a problem.Thank you so much for your good work.
Hey mate thanks for letting me know! I'm not sure why it won't work.. I would send a quick email to hi@placeit.net to see if they can see what is going wrong. I know that's not the best answer, but I hope it helps a bit!
Interesting insight on these tools. I know I’m at a big disadvantage since I’m hand drawing all of my graphics but I think it’ll be worth it in the end!
@@AMO17 I think consistency is key. Not giving up when things don't work right away. And keeping a happy feeling inside. I've noticed when I've done anything: ebay, teach classes online, digital sales....the happier and more cheerful I am inside, the more fun I feel like things are (state of mind we can shift ourselves regardless of how things are in our outer world)...sales and enrollments are always higher. If I've been down in the dumps, worried, always "looking" to see "how it's going" (rather than just being happy and not paying too much attention to the numbers- there is just more $. Your art is great so keep pushing it out there and find things around you at any give point in time to help you feel cheerful inside, or grateful. It helps a lot. And - when everyone is a little bored of most shirts being just text, which they already could be even if they don't realize it yet, your designs will stand out! You have a gift. And not everyone can just decide to draw and be great at it. No one can be YOU. :-)
Hey Xonaar17Art - I just saw your channel. You could really build a very successful channel. Just do more videos like the ones there. You have to just keep uploading like every week and just keep doing it. Batch film so you don't have to try to make a new video each week - so do a few at one time. Capture everything you draw on video so you have it to post if you want to. In time, you can also do tutorials. Do short ones and then funnel people to a website where you sell more complete tutorials. I've seen other artists do it and they make a lot of $. You really can draw and many people like that kind of style and would love to learn to draw that way. Utilize your ability in every way you can think of doing. Yeah, and go make some T-Shirt designs! :-) Just keep plugging it. Your instagram account can get followers who like this style of art and you can end up selling all sorts of things there - courses, shirts, etc.
@@thebottomline6700 Wow, thank you for the feed back! I will take note of everything you said! I greatly appreciate the words of encouragement as well as the tips you've given me. Means the world and I just have to now keep plugging away!

Do you find that PlaceIt does everything Canva does, so you don't need both?
You are a godsend Greg! A genuinely good person who wants to help others. I have subscribed to you and am following your tutorials. Wish me luck! I lost my job and need the income. More power to you ❤️
Thank you! I'm glad to hear this video was helpful! As always, if you need anything just let me know!
Maybe I’ve become a nerd lol but I love designing stuff on it lol
🫡 thank you
Scotty 🍀
I love this guy
🙌
Your voice and words are like waking up a dying person Greg! God bless u with more success!
Haha, glad to help!! Thanks for your support Suraj!!
Hi Greg im brazilian but living in japan thanks for you advices i just started my print om demand at amazon and just used your placeit coupon thanks !!!!!
Right on! If you run into any questions at all just let me know!
Once again, your information is invaluable. Things that I don't hear anywhere else!
You're an online gem, Greg. Many thanks for the coupons
Thanks Dan, I hope it helps! Let me know if you have any questions as you're going along!
Everything about placeit Love everything! Its my favorite rabbit hole!
Right on! Isn't it a game changer..! Love it too.. Thanks for the comment Elisabeth!
Thank you for the comparison. I'll be going with Placeit!
Good choice! Thanks for the comment and support Shannon, and if you have any questions just let me know.
I use both and subscribed to both! I can't live without either!!!
Agreed! They are solid tools.. I definitely use placeit far more but I come back to canva every once in a while for small things here and there :) Great to have them both!
Thanks Greg for another fact-packed and highly researched video with no fluff.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment Harry!
Great video! Thanks for making all this clear to us!!! This saves time hunting around the internet for answers!!!
Thank you Charlene- happy to help! 👍🏼
Agreed re: the mockups! Love them and PLACEIT is very open to new mockup ideas I give them. Two thumbs up👍🏼👍🏼
Right on! I love that they are always adding new ones...and taking suggestions. Love it! Thanks for the comment too Jen, and as always let me know if you have any questions as you're going forward!
What sites allow you to use mockups? Amazon, Etsy yes, but not Redbubble or TeePublic. Can you name others that do?
Greg, you are a fantastic teacher! Thank-you so much!
Wow, thank you so much!! That means a lot to me!! You're welcome!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear this video was helpful! As always, if you need anything just let me know!
You're Great. Thank you and God bless man!
Thank you Karees! I appreciate that.. I'm here in the comments if you have any questions about any of the videos too.
@@GregGottfried Boy that helps a GREAT deal🙃🥰 Thanks again... You're hired 😂😊
This is just what I needed to hear!!! Thank you so much. You're amazing!
Right on! Thank you so much!
Great comparison. Easy to understand. I'm currently using Canva for 12.95 per mth and also have a free account. I have 2 different programs running at the same time. Put will change to Placeit just for the mock ups. Cheaper then having models. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Kudos!
I love you 🌸 thanks for all your work bro 💚 I've gone through almost 70% of your videos in last two days 🌟
Thank you! Let me know if you have any questions as you're going along!
I’m new to your channel. Your videos are the best!! They are instructive and time saving. This video is currently the uncertainty I was going through. Since Canva’s online terms aren’t the clearest.
hi Greg! Avid fan here :) God bless you always :)
Right on! Thank you! As always, let me know if you have any questions I can help with as you're going along!
Your videos have been so helpful. Thank you so much!
Happy to hear that! Thank you 😊
Great info, as usual. One correction, many of Canva's fonts are not available on the free plan. Thanks Greg. You are really helping us out.
Thank you so much for the comment! As always, if you have any questions as you're going along just let me know!
One of the most informative channels I am following ! thank you! much love here
Thank you so much!!
Legend. Keep it coming Greg.
Thank you so much!! More coming soon :)
Thanks Greg, this video is very helpful and timely for me. Appreciate your great free content
Glad it was helpful! Thank you and as always, let me know if there's anything I can help with!
Greg Gottfried even though there is a big range, would are realistic expectations of monthly net revenue following your pod recommendations after 3 months or 6 months of uploading 30-40 quality designs per week to the 3 sites? Have you done or would you do a video on that topic? Thanks again
Thank you so much for such an informative video.
Keep up your good work
Thanks 🙏
It’s funny. I use both of these.
lol right on! They are both awesome, and solid tools to keep in the arsenal. I agree, I use Placeit something like 95% of the time but still use Canva for small things here and there.
This is a much needed comparison full of useful info. Thanks so much for this.
Thanks Susan! Good to see you in the comments too! I hope all has been well lately!
DON'T STOP SHARING VIDEOS NEVER NEVER NEVER
A big fan from MOROCCO
Thank you so much!!
Thanks so much for the info. Appreciate the table of contents a lot.
Thanks Rae! I'm glad it helped!
I personally enjoy Placeit, but theres a few details that I noticed while using it:
Like for example, when it comes to typing words on a design.
Thank you so much Gregg!
You're welcome Francisco! I hope it was helpful and saved you some time!
Hey Greg,
Been loving the videos lately, do you think you could make a video on how to make that transition from print on demand and selling someone else's design, to having your own brand and unique shirts that no one else is selling?
Thanks
Thanks mate, great information.
Thanks again!
Greg, for sure, when I get the successful I will remember about your channel.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video!
Tried both and honestlty i prefer to use inkscape (free photoshop alternative). I just mastered it and can make my own vectors now.
Thanks so much for your content Greg. You have been very helpful.
Thank you for your support Joy! I’m happy these videos were able to help you🙂
Thank you for answering my question. This is really helpful to know and understand.
Thank you 🙏🏼 Greg earned a like and subscribe. Place it seems like the better option
Great to hear Michelle- I'm happy you were able to use my link! I wish you nothing but success 😊
I have used your 15% coupon for Placeit after watching your videos. Thank you Greg 😍.
Awesome! Best of luck to you & thank you for your support 👍🏼
Great video, lots of usable information
Thanks Angela!
Love your videos! So informative. Thank you
Thanks again! As always, let me know if you have any questions as you're going along!
Thanks for giving us hope greg
Thank you! As always, let me know if there's anything I can help with!
Your videos are so helpful Greg. I'm about to start designing for my store. Grateful for all the knowledge you are providing. More power to you. :)
Thank you! I'm glad to hear this video was helpful! As always, if you need anything just let me know!
Hey Greg!
I needed to know when my listings are public and I haven't made any sales, the search feature of Teespring doesn't give any result of my storefront even if I search with keywords or exact store title. So does it work after we get those initial 2/10 sales they require to build the trust score? Let me know whenever you can. Thanks again. :)
I'm a paid member of both, I think placeit has a model database that's great, but I think Canva is cute for an image database
Agreed. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Very helpful and informative video! I like how you get straight to the point and provide so mich information about these things. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear this video was helpful! As always, if you need anything just let me know!
Very thorough review! Thank you :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching :)
Fantastic info. Thanks Greg 👍
Thank you! Happy you think so 👍🏼👍🏼
love this! thanks for the information and being so transparent :)
Thank you! I'm glad to hear this video was helpful! As always, if you need anything just let me know!
Thanx!
Once again. You're Awesome. Thank You!
Dude this is amazing. Nice review. Caught us by surprise
You're awesome Greg.
Thank you!!
Rock on! Great video as always. By the way my daughter is working and 10 designs. However, she insists on drawing all of them individually. So she’s not doing lots of designs As you suggest in mini videos but she’s working on it
Thanks for all your advice
Thanks for the comment Rick! That's still awesome to hear.. Getting into the flow of uploading and the feel for how it all works is valuable in itself. Who knows, maybe some of her original drawn designs will take off and go viral! All the best to you and your daughter Rick! As always, if you have any questions I can help with just let me know!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear this video was helpful! As always, if you need anything just let me know!
Cool..we always support you😊
Thanks for sharing such great ideas on T-Shirt designing.
Thank you for always providing great value for free 🔥🔥🔥
Thank YOU for the support and the comment!
Thank you very very much you have really helped me in so many ways. God bless you.
If your art looks like your channel profile art, I'd say it will pay off in spades!
The Bottom Line I greatly appreciate the kind words! I definitely hope it will work out this time around
