This song is by far the most closest to all UAENAs ...My favourite song. It never fails to give me goose bumps and tears but also an unexplainable sense of calmness, serenity and comfortness . Thank You for your wonderful reaction !!!
Through the Night" was a major success in South Korea. As of March 2022, it has never once fallen out of the major music charts in South Korea, being listed within the top 100 of the Gaon year-end chart every single year since. "Through the Night" is the third best-selling singles in South Korea since 2010 with more than six million digital downloads. IU sing this song of Cantonese version in Hongkong concert.
The making of this MV is chaotic ASF. There’s IU being a baby cause she wanted to eat out but her manager said no. “Scolding” her staff for eating meat the night before while she “starves”. IU stepping on a squid and only finding it out cause the staff was gossiping about it. IU spilling the ink on her dress and trying to wipe it out before her stylist finds out. IU freezing to death while wearing the red dress but needs to be pretty for the shoot and of course the IU as a ghost on the stairs exclusive on Hanteo TV. Lol
I fell there are two melodies in this iconic song. the melody of melody and the melody of lyrics. Any man will melt after hearing this song and lyrics, the choice and arrangement which IU made makes Korean sound sincere and beautiful.
Fun fact: IU fell in love with fireflies while recording "Moon Lovers Scarlet Ryeo" and this was the first video where she included them. BTW: There is also a MV linked to "Through the night", which is called "With a determined heart to forget you" and the song is a cover of Kim Kwang Seok. It's perfect! (The song is not included in any album)
The song was supposed to be included in FB but the controversy with the death of his daughter caused IU to decide to take out the song (at the expense of redoing the album) out of respect for the family. The song was released much later after some time.
❤️HAPPY FRIUDAY❤️.There is a continuation of this song and mv the song is called 'with a determined heart to forget you' (this song is not included in any album) so i suggest watching that too as it's a story kind of thing and it will help you understand the music much better (also i would love that reaction too✨👀) so yes love the video❤️looking forward for more!!
It has now become routine to spend my FrIUdays in front of RUclips with you. Thank you so much for sharing your love of IU with us. It always puts me in a good mood before starting my Friday. To know there are so many fans of IU around the world makes me truly happy. I always learn something new about her looking at the comments from her super fans in the comment section as well, so thank you all!! I wasn't able to get tickets to the concert in a couple of weeks, but will be in Seoul during that time and will definitely go to Jamsil Stadium to get a close up look at the phenomenon that is UAENA.
Korean title is literally translated 'Night Letter' and gets referenced as such in interviews. Not only is there a delightful 'making of' video, there's also a prank April Fools video where IU is behind the camera at the location filming her manager Hanteo as though he was the star. ruclips.net/video/GU1mD9MOoHE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/kCdqAU65R6E/видео.html
Thank you!! You’re right :) it’s such a beautiful video, and the feelings of it take the song even further…ahh :) :) And I think it’s the case actually that TTN influenced HDL!! I remember an interview with the writers maybe? Or director? In which they said that all three knew from the beg they only would produce HDL if IU agreed bec of how expensive what they were envisioning would be. And that they wanted to pull from ‘her worlds’ created as IU once they conceptualiséd the sets and some of the themes and stuff? The fireflies, that dress at the end/some of her costuming and the kinda fantastical/neither here nor there sentiment, neither old nor modern feelings, etc that she’d created in some of her MVs and just kinda had often embodied herself as a singer-human - they were intentional inspirations for the whole main concept of the HDL world and moods if I’m remembering correctly
There is a part 2 to Through The Night according to IU. Through the Night is the very beginning of a relationship. The ending of the relationship IU used a song by a well known Korean folk singer (that is an entire story on it's own). The song is With a Determined Heart to Forget You. While the song didn't make it onto any album (see above) their is a MV, a lyric video and a concert clip from her channel. The MV ties the two songs together through the hair clip. But my favorite by far is her concert performance which I have provided a link to below. ruclips.net/video/RCThRT8QPIA/видео.html
Yes, it's(not this song, but "With a Determined Heart to Forget") originally a song by Kim, Kwang-Seok (김광석) on his 3rd album in 1992. Such a beautiful song and a great cover by IU. Kim Kwang-Seok is a such a great singer/song writer who died too early. He has many other great songs people should listen to.
I sure am! All tomorrow (Saturday 3rd) I'll be live streaming as I put the new wall up (IU pictures included!) Come join if you can, it's going to be an aaaaallllll day thing, that's for sure!
The song she performed at the 2018 Golden Disc Awards, in tribute to Jonghyun. Another reason I lose it whenever listening to the song 😭
안녕하세요 잘보고 있습니다😊
