the whole bullying was caused by a polutarity contest. stacey thought vanessa was stealing her thunder and that tony liked her, nikki was jealous of their friendship, and tiffany just wanted to fit in. does anyone else agree?
I agree. In the beginning, you could tell Nikki was going to be trouble. She was jealous of Stacy and Vanessa's closeness. She set Vanessa up to talk to Tony so she could use it to get Stacy mad at her. Stacy went along with all those girls to bully Vanessa because she was jealous of the whole Tony thing and she enjoyed having tons of girls following her as their queen bee. Tiffany would do anything to fit in.
@@shannon2748 Vanessa was also pretty, intelligent and popular, which Nikki hated. Nikki's jealousy served as a driving force in the downfall of Vanessa.
Tony is such a coward too. Just like many middle/high schoolers. he just wants to go along with the girls who are deemed popular. he liked Vanessa and wouldn't even stand up for her.
Bullying doesn't just happen in school, it can happen at any stage in your life. So let's just hope you don't come across anyone intimidating like Stacy in your future.
This movie is on right now on LMN. I love it. I think all parents should watch this especially if you have daughters. I can't believe Nikki and Stacey's jealously against Nessa. If they could only see that Tony wasn't after Tony in the first place, it was Nikki's idea in the first place. Nessa was setup from the very beginning. She didn't deserve to be treated like this, especially not with her "friends."
i know exactley how that black girl feels, once on my first day, i accidentily sat at the popular table where all the seniors usually sit, and the girl came up to me and said "i thought the debate freaks sat by the garbage bins" and i told her "yea, they're over there waiting for you and your outfit to show up" everyone cracked up. ahh, she hates me. but whatever, at least i got my comeback.
the darkness represents emotional sadness and depression more bullies more it starts to increase and the darkness of the school is a he'll in disguise and it wasn't a happy place for Vanessa
from being bullied in year 7 and 8, and from being bullied from my brother since i was 7, i ended up with depression and bulimia, words hurt, think before you speak, you never know what else is going on in their life.
I can't remember how many times I've watched this movie. It's one of my favorites and I think the first time I watched it when I was like 15 or something..I love Vanessa but I hate the fact that she keeps believing Stacey. Stacey is so phony and pathetic!
I knew a bunch of girls like that in my primary school- they were my friends actually. They acted so nice around me so i didn't notice that they would be bitchy and mean to other kids. I only found out after I left school and felt like crap :(
Thanks so much for downloading this! I plan on buying the movie, though, anyway. I watched it on Lifetime a few weeks ago. Though parts of it were very tough to watch, I think it's a great film. I know that this is an extreme case of bullying, but bullying, particulary girl aggression, is something that needs more attention. Schools need to take it more seriously if they claim to be all about the students.
OMG!!!! i watched this with my voices and choices group and all my friends were crying and we were hugging each other and were like "you'd never do that to me, would you?" and "no, never, you're my BEST FRIEND, i love you!!!" and all that junk!!!
like the girl in this movie, I was picked on a lot in high school as well. It made my life a living hell, but it certainly taught me how NOT to treat other people. I am well liked as an adult now due to the fact that I treat people with respect.
I remember watching this movie by candlelight on a generator-powered TV/VCR/DVD combo at my friend's house during a blackout so we didn't notice the lights:)
i am so glad my junior high and high school days are long gone! back when i was in school in the 80's and early 90's we luckily didn't have texting, the internet and cell phones, if there was bullying it was just in school, I hated those years.
I remember in highschool, if I sat on the popular kids table they had to suck it up and change. They seem tough, but they're incredibly weak, so if you stand up, they cower in fear.
@MissLuvMovies Thank you for being so honest. If I was ever mean to anyone it was usually just once because one of two things would happen: Someone else would put me in my place or my conscience would get the better of me. But, as you know, not everyone has a conscience. That's why I took as much abuse as I did when I was younger. Not at school so much, but in the neighbourhood among friends and siblings and their friends. God Bless.
Hi, met you on the Celebration in May. We were lucky with getting off the ship but our time was much later than when you got off. We loved the ship and meeting you.
each class in my middle school had to watch this movie during one or two of our periods. i was like feaking out about what waa going to happen next. this reminds me of my school because there are so many feakin preppies in my school. everyone is either wearing hollister, abercrombie, or american eagle. not that those clothes are bad but it is really preppy and i can't believe the whole school wears it.
kateseesstars My situation was similar to your's. I was bullied in grade seven and was bullied by my older brother a lot in my childhood because he was bullied in school as well, and the only way he could deal with it was by venting it out on his younger siblings, especially me. On the positive side, doing that stopped him from going crazy and murdering someone or committing suicide, then it was worth it! That's one way to look at it, anyway. God bless.
Lol for real. I was watching it, and I was like "this is a great story, but why is the school dark as fuck??" At my school the teachers are so paranoid there is one at EVERY corner...
@pretty818 I think it maybe the fact that it's a built filming set and they didn't bother to drag cables for lights all the way into every single corner of the set.
AMEN! I'm serious...I always see people call other people fat, and when I look at the "fat" person, I'm just like "Erm...what's fat about THAT?" People these days are just too damn shallow and that's just unfortunate.
A question for all you ladies: In the movie, are you more attracted to Tony or to Ezra? There's no doubt that Tony is the much nicer guy while Ezra appears to be a real jerk. But from all my observations, it looks like women are still much more attracted to abusive jerks than they are to nice, docile men. So.....do you ladies find Ezra to be more attractive than Tony?
Do you girls not see that you're playing exactly into what the film condemns by judging the actresses and/or characters, deciding who's fat, who's pretty, who dresses badly, etc? :(

Yes boys can be worse too
the lighting in this film is meant to be dark, to represent the emotional sadness in the film. since the film has a dark theme to it
Who else is so into old but amazing Lifetime movies???
Bullying doesn't just happen in school, it can happen at any stage in your life. So let's just hope you don't come across anyone intimidating like Stacy in your future.

Has this school ever heard of lights
I wish I could go to School with you Vanessa then I wish you can come to Acadia Junior High as my friend
the darkness represents emotional sadness and depression more bullies more it starts to increase and the darkness of the school is a he'll in disguise and it wasn't a happy place for Vanessa
the movie is one of my favorite movie all time.
Does this school not have lights?
I KNOWWWWWW
It represents the darkness of the movie.
ok that Tony can talk to whoever he wants, maybe stacy is not his type or maybe not even vanessa he could just like her as a friend.
This movie is so true.
Girls did stuff like that too me all the time, even now it still hurts.
It's not fair people have to go through that.
jealousy and popularity can do that to people im afraid :(
i know how vanessa felt through this entire movie
from being bullied in year 7 and 8, and from being bullied from my brother since i was 7, i ended up with depression and bulimia, words hurt, think before you speak, you never know what else is going on in their life.
wow nicki is just sooooooo jelous of staceys and vannessa's close friendship
Vanessa rubbing that 'footprint' off Tony's forehead must have felt good for him feeling her hand on him.
i saw that film more than 5 times on TV & i still want to watch it more & more it's one of the best films i had ever seen.
I can't remember how many times I've watched this movie. It's one of my favorites and I think the first time I watched it when I was like 15 or something..I love Vanessa but I hate the fact that she keeps believing Stacey. Stacey is so phony and pathetic!
Yes, and she gave her too many chances. Especially after the "birthday party disaster" Stacy should have been left in the dust.
I know right, it's SO obvious Stacy is fake because she apologizes but keeps doing the same thing(backstabbing)her over and over!
bullying is such a major issue in todays society... no matter what age you are!!
I knew a bunch of girls like that in my primary school- they were my friends actually. They acted so nice around me so i didn't notice that they would be bitchy and mean to other kids. I only found out after I left school and felt like crap :(

Signifies that school can be a dark place for kids!
I think this is such an important movie for teenagers,(both girls AND boys) and their parents to see.
OMG, THANK you for putting this up! I saw it on Lifetime during lunch one day, and never got to finish watching it, so here is my chance! :) ♥
OMG!!!! i watched this with my voices and choices group and all my friends were crying and we were hugging each other and were like "you'd never do that to me, would you?" and "no, never, you're my BEST FRIEND, i love you!!!" and all that junk!!!
it's supposed to symbolize the darkness of her life

What about on the street?
I remember in highschool, if I sat on the popular kids table they had to suck it up and change. They seem tough, but they're incredibly weak, so if you stand up, they cower in fear.

They played this at my school in 6th grade, had no idea how much cussing was in it lol
Actually this movie takes place at a jr. high/middle school.
Hi, met you on the Celebration in May. We were lucky with getting off the ship but our time was much later than when you got off. We loved the ship and meeting you.
it fits the tone of the movie too(:
Are there any lights in the school? Does t ever NOT have an overcast or rain?

I guess why the school is dark because the director wanted to give the film a dark tone. A dark school like that.. too depressive ..
Lol for real.
I was watching it, and I was like
"this is a great story, but why is the school dark as fuck??"
At my school the teachers are so paranoid there is one at EVERY corner...
It represents sadness and depression for Vanessa it wasn't her happy place as the bullying start to increase
This movie is tonight on TV by us on RTL8 22.50 in The Netherlands
@pretty818 I think it maybe the fact that it's a built filming set and they didn't bother to drag cables for lights all the way into every single corner of the set.

I simply love this movie :D
I am not that old, but I'm glad that internet and cell phones weren't that common when I was a kid.
i know right? i was like dang can't that school afford lights?
This movie is sad. I see how cruel people can be.
thanks for upload this movie
Do you girls not see that you're playing exactly into what the film condemns by judging the actresses and/or characters, deciding who's fat, who's pretty, who dresses badly, etc? :(
