It's impressive but also not at the same time.
It makes it harder to know what he added as an actual coach, because he took a 1 win team, replaced 95 percent of players, and they ended up winning 4 games.
If you do that you are guaranteed to improve your win total, simply by improving the roster, which is made a lot easier by his status.
Personally, I look at a game like Stanford as an example of how he seems like a poor coach. The win total was fine, but some of those losses were completely on him.

Colorado will have one of the top QB's in the nation and some serious talent at the skill positions. If their O-line is improved, they will absolutely have a shot in most games they play. The statement Joel Klatt made is not as wild as some people make it. The BIG12 this year is wide open and, CU has the best QB, best skill position group and, arguably the best secondary in the conference. CU also made some great additions not only to their roster but to their staff. Robert Livingston has coached under Marvin Lewis, Mike Zimmer and, Lou Anarumo. Those names I just mentioned are some of the brightest defensive minds in all of football. Not only did have to go against Joe Burrow every day in practice but he had to play against Lamar Jackson and that power running game etc. I believe Coach Prime made a great hire with him. I Also believe Shedeur fits the pro style offense that Pat Shurmur will run way better than the offense CU ran last year. On top of that they added Phil Loadholt from the Vikings and, Oklahoma as the offensive line coach. They also added Damione Lewis former defensive line coach from the Seahawks and, Warren Sapp to their defensive staff. On top of that they really added some great players like Jordan Seaton, Tyler Johnson, Justin Mayers, Lejohntay Wester, Will Sheppard, Samuel Okunlola, Preston Hodge etc. They have upgraded on both sides of the ball. CU has a chance to be way better than people think

It was Shedeur's first season in the FBS, it was Coach Prime first season coaching at the power 5 level. They were better last year than people expected but, they weren't ready to compete. This year They have upgraded their trenches. They added two of the best lineman from the portal, a starter from a BIG10 school and, the best lineman from the high school ranks. They added 4 4 start defensive linemen. They have upgraded their staff and, they return 71 percent of their production. People forget before Prime. CU was getting dragged by 40 pts. Prime came into the strongest league (Pac12) and was competitive on all but two games with a weak O line, D Line. Travis missed games, so did slusher, Shilo missed a game. Shadeur under his 3rd OC in 3 years, while running for his life under a fast-paced offense that wasn't a good fit for a new team. Undisciplined D line that missed assignments, missed tackles, didn't do their job. Too many false start from the O line putting them in constant long position. Now they're in the Big12, with a better OC and DC. Better talented RB/WR room. Much improved O/D line. Probably the best WR in FBS. Stronger RB that can block. Kickers that can actually back up the opponent. A ton of NFL experience. The only position I'm somewhat concerned about is the TE. Besides probably UTAH, the Big12 is wide open.

Why do you think USC was so successful with Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams their first year? That team had already played together, they had senior offensive line, experience. The following year, all new people, no experience, team hadn’t played together as a unit. This is what happens when you hire mercenaries for one year. Don’t care how good Shudder is, how many years has his offensive line played together? They haven’t, all new, which spells disaster. 4-8 is as good as it gets for this team.

CU has gotten better after Dec 23 portal, better after the Spring 24 portal. Addressed both their Offensive and Defensive lines. 41 Transfers but 40 core players back from last year with a year together. Went 4-8 in a very good PAC12 (2 teams ranked in Top 6 season ending poll). They lost 6 games by a score or less. Moving to a very good BiG12 but last year’s PAC12 was better. There in plenty of logic to be had in discussing Buffs season total wins. Six games seems completely reasonable and 9 wins plausible if everything goes right. So, sandbag a take 7 wins. Love how Josh is stoking the coals already that Deion is going elsewhere after this year ( but pretends he doesn’t want to talk about it, why bring it up if you’re not already rooting for it). Possibly, take a man at face value as Deion has said he wants to be at CU for the next 10 years. Stirring the pot Josh, seems beneath you, but don’t broach the subject or else it’s transparent what you want.

Spurrier won at the FBS level with overwhelming talent. When he stepped up a level, his "genius" did not translate. He made fun of NFL coaches sleeping on the couch at the office and working non-stop. He made it very clear, he was not doing that. We see how that worked out for him. Deion, with his attitude toward recruiting and such, is pretty much in the same boat. Saban, Kirby, Meyer, and the like recruited their asses off. Deion - not so much. So to be fair, casuals did raise the expectations of the team. Foolish I get it. But after Colorado was humbled….. what remained was actually hate. Admit that. All off season? All hate. This year there won’t be a hype train, even if they win.

Right…a 4 win team whose first month is all prime slots network games 💀 5th game is Baylor homecoming week. Most likely will be picked up by Fox. Which will mean 5 games 5 networks. Maybe you’re telling us you’re smarter than these executives

Right….no hype. A losing team all over ya tv and the reason is just because. If there was no hype there won’t be eyeballs. You know what never mind. Not certain you understand the meaning ..

@@TheIkeman74 you’re assuming they will have a losing season. Justly celebrating isn’t a hype train. There’s no eyeballs on Nebraska but there’s a hype train around the corner for an 8-0 start. Seems like it’s you who don’t understand the subject as a whole. Tv must be confusing you.
