@@patricktomaszewski2063 lol. I traveled from this area of snowdonia to visit the CN Tower, only to bump into someone i knew from neighbouring village at the top.
What these people have done is probably the greatest railway contruction since the end of the age of steam. They should be proud of what many said was impossible to do and have made one of the greatest heritage railways in the U.K
I can understand the difficulty of having a farm split by the railway, but to claim that Snowdonia is in any way quiet with the RAF blasting around for all but the 6 weeks of school summer holidays is plain wrong.
@Aussie Pom oh yes. too many young people with not enough to do... or not enough young people which is why the local town is dying..the took away the railway / they put the railway back ... indeed!
The Nimbys don't have Welsh accents, maybe second home owners? The track the railway lies on has always been railway property, the farms were already cut in half.
All English though, at least the farmers in pt 2 understand while it' has an effect their farming, it's an adventure for their young children and working together. Without tourists, large parts of Wales, would be ghost villages and towns, with shopping chains only in larger towns and cities and the rural areas would receive even less funding, as only those living there and a low number of dedicated ramblers would be visiting there, but then again, the English will probably be moaning about the ramblers destroying the countryside.
They all sound like they were born with a silver spoon up their arse. I bet every one of them owns a “second home” which is actually an Airbnb in north wales now.
@@mrrolandlawrence They act like hippies, and to think, that the only reason that their families are even in the area is probably because of the slate mines and the first railroad.
Why do people have to moan and whine all the time about something nice!? Seriously,it's not like the train sits in the peaceful valley hooting it's hooter. The livestock will get use to it. Be glad for the tourist and something special.
17:15 - To me, it's a load of s***. Why? It's simply because I think it's better to have one train carrying, let's say 50 people across the countryside than having no fewer than 50 cars clogging up the highway.
Difficulties because it has cut your farm in two?! get a grip !!! If that is the greatest difficulty you face each day then you really do lead a simple life. As for intruding.. I think being as the railway has "returned" I think you'll find it was there before you were.. You're an old stick in the mud .. but not that old
oh and.."toys for rich men"? Shouldn't you be chasing butterflies or feeding your cats ? O.o I earn less than £1100 a month and work 46 hours a week. I would gladly give my time to help out if I lived closer ^_^ I'm helping at Llangollen instead..
I bet all the complainers drive diesel cars or even worse , petrol cars that polute far worse , if they use EVs they create the most polution and environmental hazards , they should get over themselves
SteamMaster Gaming oh yeah they definitely have They’ve been running since around 2011 as a completed railway, and are connected with the Ffestiniog railway
You are probably one of those retarded dimwits who complain about green issues but drive a diesel lol, a railway so useless that it is still running connecting rural areas and bringing millions into the Welsh economy, case closed, run along now dumbass
So useless that it's always packed, I'm just back from holiday and a journey on the railway and it's bringing prosperity to that area , so piss off, get a life and an education as you definitely need it.
Nice to see 10 little wasters not getting their way by stopping something so nice.
Love the banner that says 'where are the jobs?' Maybe in the towns and Villages that are now tourist hotspots
I travelled from Toronto, Canada to visit this railway and be able to ride on it.

P.S and to those snobbish protestors you can just thank the railway for bringing more jobs and touristim to the area it now travels through
That woman looks silly now in 2020 !! " It won't suceed !! the last one didn't !!!!!" 😂😂😂😂
She’s a typical looney. Doesn’t give a shit about anything that matters!
shes prob selling gifts by the side of the railway
What a wonderful display of nimbyism at 17:10! That's some of the best hysterical over-reaction I've seen for a long time.

evans tutor was like: ive put up with him for a whole charter and i get a badge in return
Would love a follow up interviews with those "intelligent" protesters, now that the railway is established and successful 😆.
Not many Welsh accents with those: "Not in my backyard brigade"!?

Such an amazing railway.
typical the hippies trying to spoil it.
those are landowners. not hippies. hippies dont ride quad bikes or have range rovers or horse boxes 18:00

Sounds like the protests made when they opened the Liverpool & Manchester Railway!!
They’re all complaining about the railway cutting into the land when cities do the same thing

They’re well beyond the point they were here. Good for them
I love how bonkers it is to spend 30million on something so useless. I should Google if it’s still open but il probably just forget.
It's still running.
