"Disintegration" was the soundtrack to my 14 month trip through Asia when I was a young backpacker back in 1989. Whenever I hear these songs I'm immediately transported back to the jungles of Sumatra, or riding the rails in India.
Back in 1989 I worked in a factory on afternoon shift. I was just about to get off at my stop to shuffle to work but I jus couldn't do it. I stayed on the train and wanted to go to Melbourne instead of work. I bought the disintegration album on cassette and walked around Fitzroy and brunwick Street.a winter night came on and the wind and rain came. I fell in love with disintegration album from the very first listen the rain and sense of freedom and pure joy of listening to absolute perfect album on that night many years ago. Prayers for rain seemed so apt for that night. I walked around for hours looking at the streets and feltso good. I can just listen again and I'm transported back to my younger days.the cure always in my Walkman and now on my phone. Magical night
*I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!!* I lived in Las Vegas for 15 long years of my life, and I hope I get time off from Purgatory for it, because I really, truly hate the dessert, and it's deathly dry air. I love that picture, that foggy, damp road looks so incredibly refreshing! I want to inhale the petrichor!
