Stop writing stupid things about Yak-11! In the 90's, Lavochkin's KB survived by bidding La-5 replicas. Then one copy cost less than $ 500,000 .
Як-3У.
@@freeman_0154 No, it's Yak-11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@billybons9230 No, it's not. Go and learn. Google it.
@@freeman_0154 Это Як - 11.
OMG what an amazing sound!!! Loved it!!
This aircraft performed at Classic Fighters Omaka 2017. *Very* spectacular!
Vladimir,
It's actually a Yak-3 U/R2000 painted up in La-7 colors.
Yep, a "new-build" Yak-3U with a Pratt & Whitney R-2000 14 cylinder radial boosted to between 1700 & 2000 horsepower.
I think it's very cool that it has the military markings. ( has that changed since this video?). I'd love to see rare Bear in Navy Blue.
Mark Plemons look at Howard pardue's bearcat. i think he left it all original
Nice video ,lovely planes, must go to reno air races one day..☺
Yes Sir!! I'm just knee deep in the crew video so it may take some time.
Any more vids from this year's races in the works, Sir Voodoo?
It either La-5FN, or LA-7
I think I saw this in McMinnville in like 2005. Pretty much a yak-11 with a twin wasp
Ryan Walker Yes sir, its official designation is a Yak 3U-R2000.
@@Voodoo1650vs an LA-9 in a turning fight.
I suppose it is made out of wood like the original Russian fighters ?
Voodoo-is-the-best-of-all-the-west....Our-hero!
Як-11, имитирующий Ла-ФН.
Uuuuh, it's a Yak in fact... :X
This is a 100% American pilot flying a race Yak/WW 2 planes are getting harder to find, except for those 60 or so Spitfires,Buried in Burma, they are coming out of storage, deal is done!
Lavotchkine LA5 ^^
It looks like a La-7. Yaks had in line engines.
The Yak-11 was a radial engine design.
+Voodoo1650
Roger that.
Julio Camarero Guys, look at the rear fuselage and tail plane and compare to the la5 and La7. La5 and La7 have an upward sweep on the bottom of the rear fuselage making it look like a bent banana. The vertical stab on the La's is also a lot shallower. The Lavochkins also featured extendable leading edge slats, this does not. Clearly a Yak-3u, which were originally fitted with the Shvetsov Ash82 14 cylinder double 7 radial, same engine as the La's, hence the very similar engine cowl/shroud. This however has a P&W R2000 1750hp engine fitted.
Julio Camarero not all yaks had inlines..like yak 10 or 11s went back 2 inlines due 2 performance issues
yak9u as i was told this thing actually is, was an attempt to increase yak3 performance without using the unreliable vk107. quick wikipedia search told me that much but i found the same info elsewhere. they put a soviet radial engine on it, and this one they replaced it with a R2000, as has been said by +JETFOURLITRE
ЛА-5,сделано в СССР...
Як-3У.
