I had never heard of Triticale until this series but we grow about 2 million acres of it in the US, primarily as an animal feed. I'm learning things while being entertained. Thank you.
Great episode. Reminds me when I fronted up to a 300 hectare field with a 3m mower. Massive job, but hey, this is farming. A new trailer is a must and I concur with the previous comment, the “better contracts” is great and would work well with this series.

At the risk of sounding negative, not meant to be, but updating playlists would be most helpful for people like myself who want to watch a series but dont have time to go through 200 videos to find the corresponding lets play videos. Please make this happen. Luv the channel u do a great job!
Mate have a look at the "better contracts" mod, I think its awesome for survival series
You should grab the Unimog mod and use some of the older Unimog models, they are great for carting and have a 3 point for most tools

Always a great video. you should get the Better Contracts mod, which allows you to refresh contracts by pressing a button. This mod also includes additional settings, such as enabling field discounts. With this feature, each time you complete a contract for a field, the owner will offer you a discount on the field's price. You can customize the discount amount in the Better Contracts settings. Additionally, you can set a "lazy mode" for the owners, making them less efficient at tasks like fertilizing and harvesting contracts, allowing you to earn more money.
Better Contracts
"Should I take those three fertilizer missions, or rather the 2.3 ha potato harvesting contract?" "How much liquid fertilizer will I need for this job?" If you ever asked yourself questions like these, this mod will help to find the answers.
The maximum number of contracts and the amount generated per cycle is automatically adjusted to the number of fields on the map.
You can immediately generate new contracts through the "New Contracts" button, or delete all of them with the "Clear Contracts" button.
You can sort the available contracts by type and field number, by total profit, or by profit per minute, to make it easier to find the one you desire.
You can set the allowed maximum number of concurrently avtive contracts.
With the "Details" button you can toggle on/ off the display of additional contract information. Like cost estimates for usage material as fertilizer, herbicide, or seeds. For harvest and baling contracts, it shows the minimum amount to be delivered, and the amount that you can keep (and sell). From this it calculates the total profit value for a contract, i.e. reward minus cost for fertilize/ spray/ sow contracts, and reward plus value of kept harvest for harvest/ baling contracts. It even estimates the time you will probably need for total completion of the job, by taking into account the work speed and work width of the appropriate leasing vehicles/ tools that are offered with the contract.
The mod keeps track of the amount of contracts you completed for each of the NPC farmers (number of completed jobs is displayed below the farmers image, if "Details" on). If you enable the optional discount mode or hard mode options (on the mods settings page), the amount of completed jobs influence gameplay.
I'm surrounded by farms. Some farmers have large combines, but you would be surprised how many harvest huge fields with small 4 to 5 meter drapers. Real life doesn't use a 5x time rate, and 14+ hours in a field is normal.
I understand that this is a game, that is not lost on me. Just sayin'.

Yes, bigger tractor soon, but that little John Deere is such a sweetheart, and proves JD's innovation and foresight of better things to come. Everything is in place for the modern image, all those years ago. (except for the front wheels) lol. Great series Dag, don't mind us, we are happy to watch slow and steady.
I got a challenge for you daggerwin, try and go a whole video series without buying, renting, or using any Massey Ferguson tractors. You have an obsession with Massey Ferguson tractors, and it's very weird.

Well the Tractor is definitively a upgrade, it will pay for itself, why didn't you check the used market for a tractor? Might of got one cheaper. Yeah that is a huge field bigger trailer will help keep you in the field longer. Can't wait for the next episode. Love this map a mix of UK with USA fields and space. 😊 Also grab the straw off the contracted field if you want some additional cash.

Started playing on this map. It's really detailed. a fun detail, go to the shop at night, face the east. you'll notice an interesting house. go up to the front door. I don't know how I missed this map. I think it came out near zielonka and I just ended up on that.

This map hit XB/ONE Mod Menu today. Didnt realise the starter farm was just that tiny bit jammed between 2 others and most of it is props!! I moved to another farm above left of the shop over the stream and wooden bridge. Nice functional buildings
I would recommend the "Orkel TX 130 trailer" for replacing your current trailer it is very versatile 18000l on biggest config, should fit that new massey perfectly
I use it a lot, great for bales, logs and pallets as well

Is it possible to get a little front end loader and forks for that old John Deer? That would be a great to pull a trailer and pick up bags. Or just leave at the store to load with.

Altough I religiously watch all your vids everyday with my morning coffee I really think sometimes you should use courseplay instead of making thing unrealistic. You could have had 3 or 4 old john deere carting like they would have done back in the days instead of skipping 40 years by buying the Massey. Just my little input. Keep up the good work 😊

And remember, you can collect the straw off the contract fields before you collect the money from the contract to mske extra money off the field. Huge job on that field but still a couple full loads will bump your money up a bunch. Now with the new tractor it'll go even quicker. But you have to sell that straw. Its free money sitting there

I see now why stick drive is not your preferred option for field work, we can all agree for yard work it's perfect though. 10th Generation Dairy Farmer on youtube use a bobcat. And I tried it on this map and never am I ever going to go back to telehandler you know that thing with telesxopic arms.

You mentioned a JCB and I thought this might be fitting. "JCB FASTRAC 150 V5.0" If you upgrade the engine the speed also increases. Turning radius is a bit ordinary though.
seeing how money is so sparse in this series. you should really turn off your harvester worker when their sitting around with a full hopper. It adds up quicker than you think.
excellent decision on getting a new faster tractor. those other ones are hard to watch and stay interested. selling the green tractor and your tiny trailer for a larger one is also a great idea.

0:55 That's exactly why I play with traffic off. Traffic is more annoying than emersive in the FS games. I mean, normally when big machinery comes your way, on narrow tracks, you would pull to the side and not just hit the brakes and make a hindrance for the big machinery getting by. 🤦♂
Dagger you should really consider a Niva harvester as possible future upgrade to the MF. It is cheap and fits well within vintage survival, being a 1972 design. It also would look absolutely in place being on an eastern European map.
Fortschritt fits more. Never heard of Niva. I am czech and there are still people using old fortschritts
@@l3rr.1 and deeper into Ex Soviet Union Niva and Don are still all over the place. Niva is a preeminent harvester for small to medium sized fields due to how cheap and easy to maintain it is. And the model has been in production, with some updates, from 1973 to 2017.
TBH I have not seen Fortschtritt until few years after the SU collapse. For us in Lithuania those were some of the first Western model harvesters seen in the fields.
@@beemerhead117 I remembered what is Niva. Yeah it's cool combine and history of company. But never seen them in Czechia I guess it's because of it's russian - also you don't see kirovets here even tho there are two dealers. Niva seems cool
Fortschritt is more popular because it's czech design and "eastern" Germany is closer than Russia
@@l3rr.1 TBH I am not surprised about the lack of Kirovets in Czechia as it was pretty much built for large flat fields where its mostly just going straight for most of the time. Similar to US Big Bud in that regard. And using model that's right in the neighborhood instead of relying on long supply road from RSM factory simply makes sense as parts are easier too. Fun sidenote though, SK-4 stalinec, predecessor of SK-5 Niva, was apparently built under license and sold as Fortschtritt 170 model in late fifties, early sixties.

Hi daggerwin I really like the new tractor Massey Ferguson 8110 I can definitely see this new tractor being your main tractor know for everything maybe get a older JCB fastrac from 1995 they do around 40 mph they are amazing tractors yes the trailer is desperately in need of a upgrade soon when you make the money from this contact job
and if you do decide to sell the John Deere maybe a fastrac or another Massey Ferguson or a new holland it’s definitely a huge map but most of all it is definitely a fantastic map to be doing vintage survival on let’s just hope when FS 25 is released later this year in November that the AI workers are definitely going to be improved
The new loan system is great, but still there are no consequences for not having money to pay your loans back. Just going in to more and more depth indefinetly is too easy. This will be even more troubling now that you took out the new loan. It's a survival series with no possibility to fail, just a lets play then.
Yeah essentially he was paying off a loan (aka debt) that has an interest rate, with a negative bank balance (aka just another debt) that doesn't have an interest rate.

The other series, the 1000 pounds would have been okay if it would have been for a daily rent rather that much per field. That way you could have done two or three fields in a day and it would have paid off.

Workers on this map are horrible, almost most fields are not straigth as YZX axis, so most time i had to do weird headlands so the workee could work center of the field best. Even as i used courseplay it gives weird paths🤷♂️
