Funny that you say the Old Duke's theme is filled with finality and disdain, considering that not only is it the last song Dm Dokuro made for Calamity, but it's also the last calamity song he made before disassociating with the terraria community in general. At the time, dokuro had been rushed by the calamity fandom to release the next song and this caused him to feel burnt out, and then eventually never wanting anything to do with calamity as a whole. Toxic Wisdom and Interstellar stomper were the last two songs he made for the soundtrack I believe.
Wow that makes me really sad. You can really tell how much DM Dokuro had grown as a composer with those last two tracks. We could have had so much more, but I don't blame him.
The Calamitas Clone theme has Crabulon, Slime God, Cryogen and Brimstone Elemental motifs. It's a turning point so it has a lot of motifs from previous bosses, also the last part has the main theme (first song you listened to)
@@nintenboss64 it’s in the first 44 seconds of the song, but I don’t blame you for not noticing, it’s one of the more subtle ones. And you are right about blood coagulant, that is the next song used
If I'm right, this is the order of motifs. It's Guardian of the Former Seas with the the intro. Next is Blood Coagulant with a subtle accompaniment. Then is Arctic Reinforcement with the Breakcore section, followed by Infestation with the obvious long section. That is followed up with the Double Kick Drum section of Return to Slime. Then comes that synth flute section of The Filthy Mind. Lastly is the return of the Oboe from Left Alone and then comes that lovely call back to Tale of a Cruel World. Motif heavy, but it is rich like a nicely seared steak.
Oh, please stay in our community, people like Heart Plus Up and CDMusic have taken Dokuro’s spot as the composers of the game, and they are incredible.
I’m so glad you loved these songs. I’ve been a fan of calamity for a long time and it always makes me smile to see someone new experience it. It is here I’d like to recommend one thing: please react to the Devourer of Gods Nonstop Mix. Yes it is those 3 themes put together, but there’s also a secret bit that isn’t included in any of the other songs. The whole thing is played like a symphony, so there are 4 parts and they’re all labeled in the video. Please, if you do anything, check it out. It’s on RUclips and I believe it is the most optimal way to experience DoG’s theme. PS. The servants and the DoG fight used to be one giant fight, so that might be why this nonstop mix exists.
11:53 its a steel drum! It's an instrument usually associated with tropical or ocean settings, and it was most likely used since the Desert Scourge is fought in the desert (and once lived in the ocean!)
Fun fact. The last 8 notes of Raw Unfiltered Calamity and final section of Stained Brutal Calamity before the acceptance part of the song (Where it goes quiet and calm). Is a motif for Yharim. Known as "Yharim's Insignia" and the main melody/motif in Infernal Catharsis, is not Yharon's motif, but rather it is another one of Yharim's. If not his main motif. But also, Draedon's motif plays briefly in Interstellar Stomper as you heard. Because the boss, was once one of Draedon's reconnaissance units to investigate the astral infection but succumbed to it. Hence the motif. But one thing you should really look forward to. Is the official exo mechs theme (Not the current in-game. That is a placeholder, as it is the mech bosses theme for Infernum). I have heard at least 3:20 in total of it, some of it are the 2 teasers, but the rest was from some time ago from a stream, which are not public. But it is a banger. Also, there is a repeating motif across many calamity songs. Like at the end of Unholy Insurgency, or start of Feral Amalgamation, and the end of Scourge of The Universe, or at the end of some Boss Rush Themes. Known as the "Intimidating" motif, unsure who it is for. But potentially Xeroc, or just a general motif for powerful foes (I know the names of at least several motifs, as they were named by Dokuro himself. And Draedon's motif name is "Nightmare Fabricator") Edit: Another fact. Old Duke was the last song Dokuro ever made for calamity mod
The Devourer of Gods nontop mix(DM Dokuro's 2nd most popular video) actually features a remixed Universal Collapse that has an even better beginning and ending part than the original, you should check it out
Honestly, glad to see someone that can admit that the soundtrack isn't flawless. Dokuro did SUCH a good job on all the music in this mod, but one can't be perfect in everything they do. Personal favorites are Antarctic Reinforcement, sanctuary and Infernal Catharsis: Rebirth.
the leviathan trilogy was that long because it was3 themes in one= but each one looped The interlude tracks actually do play in the game now in the recent update
ok so: -silence before the storms now plays after defeating the calamitas clone -storms before the catastophes plays after defeating the moonlord and -catastrophes before the calamity plays after defeating the Devourer of Gods.
You should’ve listened to the devoured if gods nonstop mix it’s so peak lol. It’s not on Spotify for some reason but I usually listen to it on yt or yt music. Would recommend

@woot7 you serecded wrong theme for exo mechs it soposto be "Inferior Fabrications"
The fact that you played through the game without music is insane...

I knew those 2 tracks had so much feeling behind them for a reason. 😮
It's honestly sad that he didn't feel belong in a community he made... And all he feels in his works relating to it is just spite

The fact 'toxic wisdom" as his last music also has like a meaning on how toxic the community is aganist him

desert scourge comprises the entire first two parts
