the phantom winning was entirely my fault, and I'll regret it for the rest of my life. they should fix it tho. Maybe re-tooling it to haunt 1.18's new caves, and only attacks when it hears you.
Imagine how cool vultures would have been if they were added as passive mobs that start to circle around you if you are dying of hunger. In the event that you die, they stay where you died and serve as a death marker so you can get your stuff back so long as it hasn't despawned.
Mojang literally said that they steal items from dead players lmfao. Not that I don't want them to be in the game(they only spawn in badlands, after all. Isn't gonna be too annoying), it's just that this idea literally contradicts their entire point.
I love how almost always, youtubers ended up influencing the votes for the worst. Literally almost no real threats in the ocean and is a very barren experience and yet vote for yet another night time mob in land which sounded quite dumb. A squid that just “glows” instead of literally anything else.

I think a big issue with the mob votes is the lack of clarity for what each mob is going to do. The phantom, at the time, sounded pretty cool. I voted for the Chillager, but when the Glow-Squid got in I had hoped that it would bring in a glowing variant for every dyable block and item. Alas, that wasn't the case. The Glow-Squid also seemed like it would have some kind of weird hypnosis effect, but I guess that was just a joke for the video? The newest mob vote was pretty clear as far as each mob's function went, it wasn't a bad vote by any means (RIP copper boi though)
Phantom did not sound cool, it was the least favorite to win. It literally just lost because they keep doing livestream voting instead of leaving the votes open for 24 hours worldwide.
As useless as the copper golem is, it would've been fun to have a little robot to hangout with and be responsible for as opposed to a dog, cat, parrot, etc.
I wanted it because I though it could be used in many different build. Labratory: have golems pressing buttons to make them look like scientists. Steampunk: have golems around like they are maintaining engines. Any ancient build: have an army of oxidized golems all lined up in a grand hall. And the list goes on but everyone always said "it's just a less efficient randomizer"
@@prosandcons-fl2cc I think they should have been made able to be taught to push particular buttons, for purposes of automation. I feel like that would have been a far better mechanic than the "flying hopper minecart" allay.
@@prosandcons-fl2cc Agreed. I wanted it to populate my town, and press random buttons to look like a worker or randomise Things in town/dungeons. No need for contraptions. Also could be used story-wise. A button behind an impentrable wall. But you can unrust a golem through a small hole and he can press the button. Etc. The Allay is... I mean. we already Automate item gathering. and pick up stuff we want already.
Yeah but if they made the phantom sound way cooler than it actually was then the same would've likely happened with the other mobs and we would be like "phantom was so cool! Why didn't it win?"
Yeah, the other mobs sound infinitely more annoying. Trying to get blaze rods? Guy with shields and a shotgun in your way Trying to swim? Not on the tongue guy's watch, now drown Trying to _walk?_ Nuh-uh-uh, there go your items and enchantments
i think the mountains winning against the savanna was worth it, even at face value, as a builder. campfires are some of the most useful detailing blocks ever and make everything look perfect if used correctly.
I certainly think that vote was good all around. All 3 were necessary, so each one should've happened. I wonder what building ideas we could've done with Termite nests, especially if there was a "Vacant Termite nest" block. Also i'm a sucker for wood types, so i wonder how the baobab wood would've looked like. Aesthetically, i can understand desert, but it is what it's supposed to be, and palm trees only make sense near water sources. Plus deserts already had their own variants of villages, wells, and the desert temple, and the Savannah seemed the most lacking.
I hope all the mobs that are “gone forever” will return. All the remaining mobs in the first vote were cool. The second vote was 50% good. And the third had a cool copper golem and I love copper
yeah i really wanted the King blaze and the Frostellager (im fine with the glow squid tho) and the allay is kinda bad because its hard to find pillager outposts and woodland mansions
I think the reason why people are always so upset about mob/biome vote is because mojang always promises or at least shows up more then they add. I was so excited for the glow squid thinking it would mesmerize you when you were near and would act as a light source but… instead we got a re-textured squid that has a special ink sac, I find it’s the same with the recent “wild” update it was basically caves and cliffs pt3 they showed us many different concept art that of course never had any changes, I feel mojang is just promising more than what they actually end up adding:(
To be honest, Mojang has been pretty lazy for a while now, it's crazy how it can take them an entire year to make a single mob and a single biome, as someone who knows modders and has tried modding myself, I just can't explain myself how it takes them SO LONG to make such minuscule updates. Also, the web about that mob vote, specified the glowsquid wouldn't provide light, but none read that of course.
@@pestrusiariopaezmengoso2868 I feel like you don’t know what you’re talking about. The only mediocre update in years is the wild update. All the other ones immersed you in a previously shallow aspect of the game. Nether was too empty and bland? Let’s add mobs, biomes, structures, and more. Ocean had like 2 mobs? Let’s add more fish, turtles, structures, and mechanics. Caves were repetitive and boring? Let’s add biomes, better cave structure, a new ore, and much more. Villagers wanted 64 emeralds for a piece of dirt? Let’s make trading diverse and actually useful. And for the record, you’re just plain wrong. The wild update was a 6 month update.
Scrapping the other ideas still pisses me off to this day. The first vote was handled horribly and had such good ideas that fit so naturally it seems ridiculous that those simple, effective, and great ideas are being thrown away.
Vultures would be incredibly interesting mobs, perhaps they could start out like cats where they flee if you get too close but as you get lower on health they gradually become more aggressive. First they stop flying away, then they start looking towards you, then flying after you, before finally attacking you with increasing aggression.
one comment above said the similar thing about health and starving and this is the response: How many players actually starve do death? At most you just dont have hunger but i never heard of someone actually starving to death and if they did it wouldve been in the first day of minecraft for unexperianced players who wandered there at the start (so they probably dont have any items on them) because experianced players would avoid Mesa at the start if they could even find one beacuse it very rare... *Vutures would be usseless and had no interaction with players except maybe the first day of the game but even then it would be still actually hard to find Mesa*
I wouldn’t mind if they were to change their mind on “never adding” those first mob vote mobs, and I don’t think the community would care either if they were to change their mind, at the end of the day, it’s more content.
These Mob Votes, while very cool in concept, are just awful. Especially this year. The Allay is cool but it only won on a "But it's useful" situation, when it would have been cool to just get some more pet mobs in the game, it's not like the Copper Golem and Glare would be difficult to implement after all, considering Mod Devs with infinitely less resources and time got a mod with all 3 functioning out within days of the reveals. I think this year's was also just really bad especially, since it really felt like Mojang wanted the Allay to win, so they made it have a practical use that just far out shined the others. The other two mob votes at least felt somewhat more fair, at least back when we thought Glow Squids would actually glow or give underwater torch materials or something. It just felt like they intended for there to be no real competition this year and as someone who would love to just have some Copper Golems running around like dummies trying to press buttons a little too high, but would also love to have the Allay helping out with certain farms, and heck even the Glare would be cool for people who don't like using F3 or can't use it and just aren't sure exactly what light levels look like, it's not a big use but it's still a use. I think next year if they don't just cut this all out and announce 3 new Mobs it'll just feel even worse. As for the Biome Votes, I think they're fine and actually really cool. Since they're not banishing the Desert or Savannah to the shadow realm, they're just delaying the updates. Which would be awesome if they did the same for the Mob Votes.
Trash comment. No one cares about "fair votes", they care about the game being good. Allay makes the game good, other mobs make the game exactly the same if not worse.
Allay is so boring! It’s just a nice vex that’s not even that helpful. To be frank I hate the village and pillage update, especially with all the new “illagers” and now with the allay it just feels like Minecraft is losing their creativity. Now that there’s goats who live in mountains, I don’t even know how they’re different from the llamas. The warden is a fantastic addition though.
@@paemonyes8299 I agree, many of the mob votes are small. But i think they did that purposely so that the community can vote on *small* things, and not be heated up over big changes.
I think the mob voting was the beginning of the end for me. I started playing less and less once the phantom was released in favor of the better sounding mobs.
Personally, I think mob votes were doomed from the start, it's just not a good idea in practice. The devs should strive for a mix of something that the community wants and something the devs want, rather than making the community choose between 3-4 new features for them. They are developing the game, and ultimately, the final say should be up to them.
I also don't see why we should have to vote at all. In every instance we've seen the community create the mobs very quickly. Meanwhile it takes mojang a year just to make one of them.
Mojang should make a rule or something to not allow FREAKING ROLE MODELS to tell kids that they should vote for the crappiest option in the pole and encourage them to vote using their own opinion. If dream hadn't of said vote glowsquid Minecraft would be a lot more entertaining, Right? I'm not saying that dream is bad, but he shouldn't have said anything about it.
considering by the layer you find Glowsquids coal just _doesn't_ spawn anymore, maybe glowsacs could be used as a coal alternative for a much more renewable source of light at deeper levels?
See, this is why I have such huge respect for Minecraft's modding community. They pretty much have made mods that prove its possible to add in the loseing votes and show they could still being added into the game easily which is somethingthat Mojang (or mbaye just Microsoft in general) can't even seem to still figure out.
The thing I hate most about the mob vote is that its such a WASTE of potential. The mob ideas are super creative and inspiring (yes, even the Moobloom and Glow Squid. I love fun twists on existing concepts) but 2/3 of them get scrapped and the remaining 1/3 never lives up to their potential. Phantoms are super annoying because they spawn too quickly and too often, they sound annoying, and their Phantom Membrane drop is nearly useless. Its a fantasy item, surely they can think of more uses for it, right? Invisible item frames (which people have been asking for in survival), obtainable levitation potions maybe, would be a great place to start. Glow Squids don't actually glow (not even just a visual effect like optifine) and their Glow Ink also doesn't do much outside of signs. They could have had glowing leather armor, decorative lanterns crafted with the ink, heck even just being able to craft cyan dye with it would have been nice. They could have made the Glow Squids have a visual light, but instead of reworking the lighting engine just make it so hostile mobs can't spawn near them or something so it mimics an actual light source. Sniffers have only TWO PLANTS! And the Torchflowers don't even emit light. They're super annoying to get in bulk because of the Sniffer's memory mechanic preventing it from digging in the same spot twice, and there was a third vine-like plant shown in a leaked image that got scrapped entirely despite looking visually complete! It baffles me how they come up with concepts and ideas and just SCRAP THEM! Its a waste of creativity! And surely they could come up with more plant ideas, right? The Sniffer has some of the most potential of any mob vote mob, due to it allowing creative and visually stunning fantasy plants. But they dropped the ball by not adding enough plants. As someone who spends a lot of time working on mod ideas and data packs, its really REALLY not hard. All you need is the texture/idea for it, since they're just copying the same mechanics as other plants like the crops and flowers, which are already in the game.
I hope later down the line they make a new/secret setting called "the forgotten mobs" that add like 3 polls worth of losers into the game. Sucks that they just throw away so many good ideas..
We need an update that called like the "lost and Found Update" or the "Second Chance Update." Where they put in literally every mob and biom and item that has lost the vote, and from now on they change how the voting system works or what it is for. Maybe from now on they show us a really cool looking mob and have us vote on how it will behave. WIll it be hostile, passafist, or tamable. Then we choose from options given what it will do as that chosen mob type.
@@somegoodsoup7008 Yeah, it would be great! This year would have been perfect for that concept. Here's a cool mob, do want it to detect light, pick up items, or press buttons?

They aren't as annoying as many say they are Just sleep or go do something else if you are on a server Still, I think it was the worst mob out of the 4
Copper golem is adorable but would actually be useful if redstone logic was much more understanding. The concept was really cute i hope one day it resurfaces.
*I'm still salty about the 2020 mob vote, the Iceologer was objectivelly the best choice.* It could make the mountains more difficult, add new lore and new mechanics and structures.
Thank god the Allay won. I would rather have a mob help me with grinding in case I missed items instead of a glorified f3 menu and a glorified chicken+pressure plste setup that turns into a corpse. And people that want "statues" in their base want the corpse of a dead golem as a decoration.
I really don't like the fact that past votes are just never implemented and are simply forgotten instead of being expanded on or heck, added to the game in the future. In fact, I feel like Mob/Biome votes are a bit uneccessary in my opinion.
9:16 If moobloom gave suspicious stew with the saturation effect (like how mooshroom gives mushroom stew) then that would have actually been pretty useful.
I'd be really interested in seeing the hovering inferno and the deep sea monster make a comeback. I wanted the Iceologer so bad its a huge feelsbad we didn't get them. glowsquid disappoints me to no end. I was kind of interested in the copper golem but none of the mobs in that vote really had my interest.
@@p0purlerm0bs60 No it wouldn’t have lol what are you talking about. You can do randomizers in like 10 different ways it has 0 usefulness that you can’t already do in the game. And what do you need to randomize that would make the CG a “huge” addition to the game.
The appearence of the allay only made thing worse. It only steals the items you give it and doesn't fit the theme of any biomes at all and has no character, larger dissapointment then the glowsquid.
I think flying mobs would work if they just made their ai and stuff better. Like as of now all phantoms do is show up and attack you badically like a zombie except it runs away after each hit.
I kinda like the idea of the copper golem, perhaps turn it into a personal body guard and I would like the statue version as a decoration if it could be moved
I thought the swamps and mountain were really cool but I had to vote for the mountains due to the sheer fact that the mountains in game looked so dull and boring. I'm very much about visuals over function also the boat chest is only a good means of transportation over the water, so it would only be helpful in specific situations (plus I personally tend to not build right next to water and also build something on the other side of said water.)
They should give those lost mobs another chance. They should bring back the following mobs to a new mob vote. The Iceologer, the Copper Golem, and the Tuff Golem.
1. IMO I think the fact the phantom won by just one percent is a clear sign this shouldn't have been a vote because even if phantoms were more interesting to fight a large majority would still be unhappy that their mob didn't win. 2. Mojang need to be less vague about what each mob does. All we had to go off in the 2017 mob vote was just some concept art and a paragraph of info on each creature. And in the 2020 vote they made it seem like the glow squid had some sort of mesmerize ability when in reality it was just a reskin of the squid. 3. In the most recent mob votes pretty much all of the are mobs useless and nowadays the mob votes feel more like marketing gimmicks than actual interesting events.
Mob votes are so dumb lol, imo the only purpose they have is to make the community feel like they are helping the game being made, imo they should just add all the mobs in the votes
I think that the votes make the community feel involved, so I like them. I'd rather they let us vote for the order the mobs get added to the game instead though.
if they could just commit more to the whole "we'll add them eventually" mindset rather than never speak of the losing options ever again, maybe it wouldn't be so toxic as it wouldn't feel like the mobs would replace the others (granted, it's gotten a little better since they announced that they'd add the swamp features that lost a previous vote)
9:53 i voted for glow squid because i thought java/windows edition needed an exclusive mob. Minecraft Earth had mooblooms, Minecraft dungeons had Iceologers, and Java/windows had glow squids
The trailer they made for the glow squid was very missleading as well. Jeb in the trailer said that its hypnotic so ppl thought it would have a mechanic. It was poorly presented
Copper has 4 uses in-game at the moment Building block Building block that rusts Lightning rod Spyglass Copper golem definitely shouldve been added outside of a vote. Copper is next to useless for the time being
I actually think the allay is a worse mob than the glow squid and the phantom... I have raided a mansion and regretted freeing these mfers ever since. They constantly run into lava or other dangers, make the most annoying sounds, have no option of staying behind and always want to follow you and the absolute worst: When you are building, they can get into the way and if you place a block, the moment an allay flies into the space, the block would get placed in, the block just disappears, also being gone from your inventory. So yeah until the Allay becomes actually useful it will be my most hated mob along with the bat.
I know I'm late to the party but here's what I would change for all the mob vote. Phantoms make it so each night more of them spawn and make it so the a like one in a 100 million chance to get tp "carry" to a new dimension with mobs such as the gaint or any mob that won't work in any other dimension. glow squid make it a tamable under water tourch. Allay maybe make it more common like in caves or forest. the sniffer when it get added should be a mob that can be found in all biomes with each biomes having a different plant that can only grow in that biome.
While I wanted the Iceologer I am happy with the glow squid. It is lame, but being able to light up item frames and signs is really great. I am annoyed that the vote isn't even a real vote and was just people with large following influencing it. They should also disclose more stuff about the mobs when we vote. If the Iceologer was simply a new challenge and they told us the glow squid would allow signs and item frames to light up then I would have voted Glow Squid. Moobloom doesn't seem interesting to me, but perhaps it would have gotten a cool mechanic that players would actually use.
Do not praise Dream's ass kissing glow squid voters. The glow squid is still the most useless of those 3 mobs, may have nice features with its ink sacs allowing for glowing signs and item frames but even that can be done with a simple torch or glowstone, nothing will ever make that mob a good addition to the game as a voted mob, maybe would of been a good addition in the 1.13 aquatic update as just another new mob, but not a mob voted into the game.
@@Wafflasaga why the hell does everyone think that useless automatically means bad? Like God damn, I want a mob that's fun and adds life to the game. The allay is extremely overrated, and I don't think I'll ever see myself using it. I'd take the damn GLARE over the allay.
@@lazykirby57 i respect your opinion but I don’t even see how it brings life to the game as it’s pretty much the only mob with a life span, also the allay is more lively as it dances whenever a noteblock is played along with imo it being cute and useful. for me it would just be annoying because the copper golem is pressing my stupid buttons >:(
Would love to see a rework to phantoms. Really they just need to be bigger for a start, and the membranes need more uses cause elytra do drop in durability quick but most players prepare mending and unbreaking books beforehand making durability a non-issue. Also would be great if they gave uses to certain materials. Iron, gold and diamonds have so many uses but copper is basically only just for building and its list of items is restricted even with those parameters. The new echo shards are only used for a special compass and there's little incentive to use the new enchantment because it exists solely to make traversing the deep dark easier. Ironically enough I think the community would love Mojang if they just scrapped most of the votes, said things can and will return (or made a losers bracket) and mobs can be reworked or outright removed if the community hates them enough.
I want to see the mobs that were designed besides the three that they decided were good enough to include in the vote. No way they only designed 3 of them each time. I could imagine at least 5-7 were made before they showcased their three best.
I don't get these polls asking which critter/mob would they want. If I got to choose, I wouldn't have bothered. Case in point, I would not ask votes for either the Iceologer or the GlowSquid, but rather add BOTH of them.
I still like the Glare, purely for Bedrock. And the allay just doesn't feel Minecrafty. I voted inverse of average, Glare in the first vote, Copper Golem in the second vote
I feel like the glare would have been the best choice for this years mob vote. Hear me out, the glare said that it would alert you and do more if an area was dark. Now this sounds stupid but there was probably more behind it. They hinted at it lighting up areas which would make spawn proofing random caves and such so much easier. It would be really cool to have it light up areas when caving, especially in the new update. The allay on the other hand is a fancy hopper nearly. If your farm is leaking drops, just put hoppers around it and that would be all. Also this duplicating nonsense is dumb and probably won’t work on a lot of valuable things like netherite and diamonds. The copper golem would have been alright, as we would get statues and truely random redstone but I still feel like the glare would have been best.
they changed the mob spawning requirements so that they only spawn in light level 0. It's rather easy to see complete darkness, or at least be kind of close, than light level 7.
Jeb revealed that it could light up areas far too late to make it any more popular, the best mob still won, but I do feel that the glare was better than the copper golem.
What I absolutely hated about the glow squid winning, is that everyone voted for it with the hope of getting neon dyes. Even though, days prior to the mob vote starting, a mojang dev said in a youtuber’s livestream that it would only drop regular ink. Essentially being a reskin of the normal squid, and everyone ignored this fact and still voted for it. The only reason we got glow ink is because they delayed the update due to covid, so with the negative feedback they received they had time to add glow ink in. Let that settle, if Covid never happened, the glow squid would have only dropped regular ink.
Would you choose: A) A wholesome variant of a cow mutation and a new possibly useful item to come with it, making an already beautiful biome all the more lively B) An ingame reincarnation of the russian bringer of cold and ice, Grandfather Frost, the Iceologer. Making you rethink your expedition in the icy mountains of the Overworld C) Flashy squid dReAm sAiD i ShOuLd vOtE fOr gLoWy SqUiDdy, i LiKe gLoWy SqUiDdy nOw. I vOtE fOr gLoWy SqUiDdy Flashy stupid squid wins.
Actually glow squids are very nice and it's good they won as they are very useful for signs and a few other things also them being in caves all over just adds a nice detail even tho they just die half the time. Actually NVM they suck
With how easy it would be to add Glow Squids and Mooblooms (being literally reskins of existing mobs already) it's incredibly annoying why they couldn't just add them both and still have plenty of time to implement the Iceologer.
@@emilianoherrera389but when your building something or playing for a while you won’t necessarily want to/can be able to sleep. As people complain day and night about phantoms being annoying, I'm pretty sure others would have the same outcome. Yes that Blaze king thing sounds cool and all, but aren't the regular blazes annoying enough? What difference would a badass version of it make? Oh so now these blazes can snipe you with 12 shots instead of one, leaving you no means of dodging. And has a shield too so your arrows won't make enough damage. Other 2 are even worse. People already complain about guardians being hard to deal, and they're not even roaming in the ocean they only hangout in their temples. I don't think a jumpscare in middle of deep ocean would do any good for anybody (altho not gonna lie, it was a bit considerate given 1.13 was the aquatic update). And that trap thing was also a jumpscare that could rip your enchantments away. That doesn't sound cool and exciting for me, it sounds awful and annoying. So yeah between these I'd pick Phantom
@@kingp1n817 all of them sounded annoying to me, especially the Blaze King. I hate fighting blazes already. The phantom could have been really good. That description sounded really cool. It always makes me feel weird that the mob votes lasted such a short amount of time. For how big of an impact the votes had on the state of one of the biggest videogames of all time, the mob votes came and went in the blink of an eye.
It's also pretty dumb that it's only done on Twitter, meaning you can only vote if you have an account there making a large portion of the community ineligible to participate. For how big Mojang is they could easily set up a poll on their own site or even within the game.
Honestly mob votes as a concept just don't mesh well, voting for 3 mobs and having the other two just wiped off feels incredibly dumb and can very easily just create unnecessary controversy, honestly I think I good idea would be to add a hostile mob that has unique attacks and then a passive mob that has a unique use. Another thing to note is that all the votes take place on twitter which is a pretty idiotic choice since it means nonminecraft players (aka trolls that will try to make fans mad) can determine the vote because of the influence of popular youtubers, having a website that only allows those with a legit minecraft account to vote, would be much better, also the votes really should last longer and shouldn't just stay up for an hour which leaves millions out.
I agree. The votes should last longer (maybe like a week ?) and have it on the Minecraft site or launcher so only those that have the game can vote. There are a handful of videos that suggest new changes to how the votes should work.
I'm not seeing how a large game company backed by the largest computer technology company in NA in charge of the most popular rated E game ever made can't just add all 3 mobs rather then making people vote for them. minecraft was the most purchased game for 3 years running, you can't tell me they don't have the money.

Oceans are still so disappointing shallow ponds :( I once used the custom world tool (or however it was called) before it was removed to create a world from 0 to ~200 blocks just water and some rocks inbetween and it felt so chilling and mysterious. That would go so well with a whale mob, which then would have enough space to swim...
Yeah but it has one glaring weakness: fire Res. With fire resistance you could literally just charge in and not take any damage. I personally voted for the great hunger bc it's basically a bear trap mob that could mess with your enchants which sounds rly interesting
For as popular as "The hovering Inferno" was, I was surprised to not see it added into the Nether update. You would assume that reusing a previously "scrapped" idea would be very convenient, while also making people happy to see a mob they wanted in the first place. Anyway, I'm still holding out hope for a Moobloom. If there's ever an update to plants and foliage, it would be nice to see it added.
Honestly, all the mobs in 2017 would’ve fit perfectly in the past few updates. Mob A would’ve been perfect for Update Aquatic, The Phantom would’ve fit well in Village and Pillage, Mob D would’ve worked well in the Nether Update, and Mob C would’ve been perfect for Caves and Cliffs.
the piglins are basically the hovering inferno+. they spawn randomly in some of the biomes, are hostile (unless you have gold), and have ranged attacks. so in a way they did add the hovering inferno
In my defense, I really thought glow squid would finally give us a mobile light source. They need to explain the mobs better before we vote because the idea we have for a mob will always be cooler than the one we get
Mojang will never made glow new stuff materials because in reality squids dont drop glow dyes. And Glow squids are very rare to find and can be in found in the deep ocean or in the cave underwater deep.
I personally think that the way the glow squid has been implemented is fine, adding nice ambience to deep aquifers, though I will agree that it would've been better as a mobile light source. The cow would've worked as well.
@@slig4656 mojang should just make all four, but their product is much higher quality than any mod I’ve ever played (I’ve played dozens, from the good to the bad). I'm my defense for voting for the phantom, it sounded way cooler in concept, they really were a letdown. When it said they would attack players who hadn't slept i imagined just going about my night farming spiders and then as you said hearing a noise, only to find a fearsome beast behind me, but really they do like no damage and aren't scary at all.

Personally I would really like phantoms if their hitboxes were just a bit bigger. That being said, I wasn't playing the game at the time of the vote, so idk what I would've actually picked.
I still find it shocking that only 2,229 people were involved in the vote that got the phantom in, and by my calculations, only *71* more people voted the phantom over Mob C. *71* people led to the addition of likely the most hated mob in the most-sold game of all time.

Tbh, I think all three mobs from the 2020 mob vote could have fit really well with Caves and Cliffs. To be honest, Mojang has been pretty lazy for a while now, it's crazy how it can take them an entire year to make a single mob and a single biome, as someone who knows modders and has tried modding myself, I just can't explain myself how it takes them SO LONG to make such minuscule updates. they probably would add those mobs with some new features to it, the mobs werent fully developed and are just concepts anyway
Very well written. I completely agree with you.

At the end of the day, its just a tactic for them to build hype for the minecon Livestreams. And clearly, it works
Mojang should make a rule or something to not allow FREAKING ROLE MODELS to tell kids that they should vote for the crappiest option in the pole and encourage them to vote using their own opinion. I actually like the idea of the Phantom and Glow Squid. I will admit that they weren't implemented properly, however.
considering by the layer you find Glowsquids coal just _doesn't_ spawn anymore, maybe glowsacs could be used as a coal alternative for a much more renewable source of light at deeper levels?

9:16 If moobloom gave suspicious stew with the saturation effect (like how mooshroom gives mushroom stew) then that would have actually been pretty useful.
I really wanted the Hoverning Inferno, which is why I'm so serious about mob votes now lol
Yep im still saltu hovering inferno got shafted we only have 2 nether fortress mobs come on mojang
I'd be really interested in seeing the hovering inferno and the deep sea monster make a comeback. I wanted the Iceologer so bad its a huge feelsbad we didn't get them. glowsquid disappoints me to no end. I was kind of interested in the copper golem but none of the mobs in that vote really had my interest.
the copper golem woulda been so useful for redstone, it provided randomization which woulda been huge.

It’s useful
The mister epic:the allay won as it was the only useful mob

We could have gotten a Blaze on steroids, a kraken or a living land mine but instead we got a stupid, annoying menace of the sky

I kinda like the idea of the copper golem, perhaps turn it into a personal body guard and I would like the statue version as a decoration if it could be moved
I'm really happy were still getting a swamp update. I was really sad when it lost. I hope we still get the glare someday
Mob votes are so dumb lol, imo the only purpose they have is to make the community feel like they are helping the game being made, imo they should just add all the mobs in the votes
yeah, the mobs in the mob votes are virtually useless and don't change much.
@dvik 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
It's actually meant to build up hype for Minecraft live
9:53 i voted for glow squid because i thought java/windows edition needed an exclusive mob. Minecraft Earth had mooblooms, Minecraft dungeons had Iceologers, and Java/windows had glow squids
The trailer they made for the glow squid was very missleading as well. Jeb in the trailer said that its hypnotic so ppl thought it would have a mechanic. It was poorly presented
I would love to see a elimination bracket for mobs that lost previous mob votes
i think the could make a mob vote that brings the runner-up of every single mob vote and puts them againts each other.
Copper has 4 uses in-game at the moment
Building block
Building block that rusts
Lightning rod
Spyglass
Copper golem definitely shouldve been added outside of a vote.
Why do you hate bats more than phantoms
The glow squid is still the most useless of those 3 mobs, may have nice features with its ink sacs allowing for glowing signs and item frames but even that can be done with a simple torch or glowstone, nothing will ever make that mob a good addition to the game as a voted mob, maybe would of been a good addition in the 1.13 aquatic update as just another new mob, but not a mob voted into the game.
glare : moving torch
allay : moving hopper
copper golem : redstone randomiser -> most complex mob -> rip copper golem
ill fix copper golem, you may have mispelled some things
copper golem: a useless mob with every feature it does can already be done in game
@@Wafflasaga why the hell does everyone think that useless automatically means bad? Like God damn, I want a mob that's fun and adds life to the game. The allay is extremely overrated, and I don't think I'll ever see myself using it. I'd take the damn GLARE over the allay.
@@lazykirby57 i respect your opinion but I don’t even see how it brings life to the game as it’s pretty much the only mob with a life span,
also the allay is more lively as it dances whenever a noteblock is played along with imo it being cute and useful. for me it would just be annoying because the copper golem is pressing my stupid buttons >:(
Shut up
Would love to see a rework to phantoms.
Imagine glow squids were tameable and they actually glowed like a torch, instead we got squid with highlighting ink sac

"lIghT UP aREaS" oh please do you think people are unironically going to buy that BS after the whole glow squid fiasco? :P
Dude, just open your eyes. Can you not tell the different of dark, and light?
Jeb revealed that it could light up areas far too late to make it any more popular, the best mob still won, but I do feel that the glare was better than the copper golem.
We should band together and boycott mojang into just stopping the mob vote and adding all the mobs
There is a Mod called "Outvoted" that attempts to add these forgotten mobs and their abilities :D

It's also pretty dumb that it's only done on Twitter, meaning you can only vote if you have an account there making a large portion of the community ineligible to participate. For how big Mojang is they could easily set up a poll on their own site or even within the game.

Another thing to note is that all the votes take place on twitter which is a pretty idiotic choice since it means nonminecraft players (aka trolls that will try to make fans mad) can determine the vote because of the influence of popular youtubers, having a website that only allows those with a legit minecraft account to vote, would be much better, also the votes really should last longer and shouldn't just stay up for an hour which leaves millions out.

well, from what I remember it was voted through the minecon, not through twitter
but I might be wrong
welp it's only been about an hour and more people liked my comment than the amount of people who got the phantom in.
I'm glad everyone isn't too disappointed with the alley, but I'm still disappointed that the copper golem didn't get in. It would've been the first new buildable mob since the iron golem and snow golem. Plus it just looked really cute and had a cool function. Hopefully we'll one day be able to see all the mobs that didn't make it into the vote. #justiceforcoppergolem
Yeah Allay are so hard to find
I hope one day theres just a massive update called the "Revenge of the Losers" or something, and just have all the mobs that weren't voted put into the game and be extremely aggressive, even the fricken moobloom.
Maybe one day they'll put some of these in another mob vote, so they have a second chance. I hate the fact that theres some mobs just missing forever.
Moobloom is a secret boss fight that appears whenever glow squid enter a flower forest
@@Ssure2 LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
Imagine if the moobloom would aggro and summon an army of bees to fight you.
you must give the moobloom blood to keep it from turning the whole forest into flames
@@PoProstuBoniacz Who doesn't?
Mob vote is just sad ;(
Minecraft should do the mob vote like the biome vote. Adding the mobs later and not scrapping them :(
Agreed
Except for the ones that everybody hates, and we don't want added to the game ever.
It's probably to add the stakes so that people would make even more conscious decisions, though often we'd regret choices we make
@@tovishitomeiji5383 but indefinitely scrapping the losers makes the mob votes feel not like "this mob was added in because of you" and more like "these two perfectly good ideas are gone forever and it's your fault"
I agree entirely. it's a huge waste of potential to get rid of them forever.
Mob D is one of the coolest things ive ever seen. I love me a new challenge, and also a new hostile mob,so finding out that two notorious monsters (Mob D/chillager) lost to an updated bat and a re-skinned squid makes me wanna fucking puke
Personally for me, I don't want a bunch of new hostile mobs being added to the game. When I play minecraft, I don't want to have to always worry about being jump scared by something trying to kill me when I simply just want to get resources. That's why I didn't vote for them.
@@thriilers1017 then play peaceful, pussy
@@thriilers1017 but...minecraft is literally a survival game. if you dont want enemies and fighting, thats what creative mode is for.
@@thriilers1017 there is a peaceful mode...
@@koolhoven6342 I don’t want peaceful mode, I just don’t wanna be fighting mobs in every place I go.
we need a jungle update next with jungle villages up in the trees called "hanging villages" and canoes and other cool stuff to add to the jungle. I think a Jungle update would be cool and should be included in the wild update
Yessssss. This I love the jungle biome. It’d definitely be cool if they updated it.
The game honestly needs more to do after getting diamond tools. Also the fact that building is still so limited in survival mode. We should be able to build machines or tools that let us produce and place large amounts of blocks.
@@Distress. There is netherite plus how is building limited in survival? Genuinely curious about what you think.
@@AndreasJepsenMusic like you still have to place one block at a time. I know commands exist but imagine if those were available though an item in the game. Or if you could place blocks in some third person view, cause by the end of the game you get tired of how long it takes to build things and just go creative.
@@Distress. I get where you're coming from, but i don't think it's limited in survival, it just takes up a lot of time. For me, it's more satisfying to finally complete my survival builds after gathering all the resources and spending the time on building them. And i don't get the urge to go to creative to build my stuff. But i will agree that some command like item would sick af tbh
Tbh, I think all three mobs from the 2020 mob vote could have fit really well with Caves and Cliffs. The moobloom would have went well with the lush cave's more nature theme, the glow squid worked well as a water mob alongside the axolotl, and the iceologer would have been a great addition to the mountains alongside the goats. Man.
If the Moobloom and Iceologer don’t make it in the game at some point I’m rioting
@@Allodoxxed Same. I desperately wanted Moobloom to win. And I’m still sad about it losing in the first round. Then I wanted Iceologer to win, because the other option is literally just a blue squid. And now that the blue squid is in the game, it’s fine, I like what it does to signs, but I’m not going to pretend that either Moobloom or Iceologer would’ve been way better.
I feel like the only problem with the iceologer is it would either make mountains to hard to climb (a long with goats, taller heights and powder snow) or fall into just a variant category ( like the husk and stray)
@@queenofmoons720 If you have difficulty climbing mountains with a chillager on it you might need to relearn minecraft...
mojang never implemented a difficult mob, and according to this they might never do.
