      Yes, they do, if the haircut doesn't fit this particular man ;-) I see your haircut fits you (from your pic) but many people saw that this haircut doesn't fit her, it's just their personal opinion. It does have nothing to do with her gender or sexual orientation, just people's opinions to which they are entitled to.

      If the haircut doesn't "fit". She's not trying to fit a toddler shoe on a size 16 NBA foot.
      It has everything to do with her appearance, gender, and sexual orientation. Sure it's an opinion people may have. But let's not pretend we don't know where those opinions stem from.
      Short of people being actual hairstylists with an exceptional eye to detail and noticing the hair cut is off, it's about their opinion of how she should appear.

      I never liked her as an actress. I really dislike her on madame secretary. Her hair is obnoxiously ugly. And I find it weird to mix masculine and feminine traits. Like why have a very boyish haircut ( even weird for a boy actually) and still have the feminine neat finely plucked eye brows. I’m sorry but I have a hard time understanding and accepting gays and trans. I just don’t get it and when I see it I wish i hadn’t seen it. I don’t want to see it! Be gay just don’t tell me about it. I’m not talking about my private stuff. Be trans, just don’t tell me about it. It’s in our faces all over the media all the time and they do it in an obnoxious way purposely bring attention to theirself. I’d accept it better if they just went about it discretely like most people do about their private lives. I know they don’t all do it. And yes the media also has heterosexually in our face...I don’t like that either. Ok, go, backlash at me

      @@aslmad1 okay i'm not going to attack you or anything, I just want to explain, like, how can something that doesn't affect you in ANY way bothers you? if a person is gay or trans and choose to show it and talk about it, how does it affect you? They have no reason to be ashamed, just like you they are human being, just like you they fall in love, the only difference is that the people they fall in love with happen to be the same sex as them, just because they're diffrent than you doesn't mean it's not right. and to answer what you said about doing it "discretely" it's because until today, so many people, people like you, don't see who they are as "normal", so talking about it helps the society accepting homosexuality and transexuality, and it works, things are way better than it was 50 years ago, but it's not enough, so they keep fighting by using the media and it's a good thing.

      How she likes to wear her hair is completely her choice. I am pretty sure every single one of us reading this, including me, cut and style our hair the way we like, and feel the most comfortable wearing it. So, yeah- you're right about freedom of speech, blah, blah- but, no one likes to be put down for the way they look, or their personal style. To do so is unkind and mean spirited. How much does it cost us, or how time consuming is it to make someone's day with a kind word? It not only makes their day, it makes yours too.

  • @melishapeters

    I watched this appropriately ten times and each time I understand it a little more and hear something new. Look, I am gay. And as a gay Indian woman from South Africa, I had to believe my truth before I shared it with anyone else. For a long time, I was aware of my fascination and attraction to the same sex. But I needed to figure out whether it was just a season or who I really was. After my inward exile I fell in love with my truth. I was sure of it. I could express it and I understood it. On different levels (like the LGBTQ flag) there are expressions of your truth that are necessary to explore. Being aware/mindful of what plays your strings is your most powerful and unapologetic truth.

    • @robertp181
      @robertp181 5 лет назад +5

      Yeah. As a bisexual man I hear that a lot. People think that men are obsessed with sex already and then being bisexual on top of that then my whole life must be about sex. 🙄 I have also heard that as a bi man, I claim to be bisexual because it’s a stepping stone to being gay. I’ve heard that I will eventually pick a side, that I’m greedy, that I’m indecisive (which I am but not about who I am with), that I’m incapable of being in a monogamous relationship because bisexuals cheat even though I’ve been married to my wife for 17 years and have never cheated once. I hear a bunch of biphobic false stereotypes.

      @@robertp181 You're so right. I was a teenager in the late 70's/early 80's, and I learned quickly that my LG friends had no patience with people who were bi. I was called so many names, and it really hurt that the queer community was so ready to reject me. So for several years I just said I was a lesbian. I was with my girlfriend for 6 years, never tempted to look for a male lover. Same thing when I married a man - I wasn't prowling for a woman. I only want to be with the person I love. I just happen to have no gender restrictions on who I fall in love with - and that includes nonbinary people.

      I also think when Arizona left for the job it should have been ended for good. But as the story went on I think it was stupid how they did break up and Callie becoming a b**** by putting her own selfish feeling above what is best for her daughter that should ALWAYS be put first. Parting a kid from the second parent is just cruel as long as the partner isn't abusive of the child. Plus I didn't feel her new relationship so I did hope that when Arizone gets written off it's based on them getting back to getter and have their "happily ever after"

    Oh my goodness! I really missed that smile!
    I fell in love with Sara when she joined Grey's Anatomy and have been a huge fan of hers ever since. I was absolutely heartbroken when she left the show... As heartbroken as I wad when George died, when Mark died and when Lexi died.
    I adored Callie's (Sara's) smile ! It's so big, beautiful, welcoming, happy and loving. When she smiles the world smiles... It's so very hard not to be happy when we see that smile.
    I'm so glad Shinda didn't kill off Callie! I hope she returns even just for one or two episodes here and there. Grey's isn't the same without her... ALL but 2 of my favourite characters are gone now :(
    But! This isn't about Grey's, this is about an AMZING woman who is using her celebrity power for the good of everybody no matter the race, religion, gender, sexual orientation etc!...
    I am so, so glad to KNOW that one of my favourite characters from a favourite series had the same goals and mindset as me 🙂... I'm straight but that doesn't mean I don't care I can't fight for what is right. However I am a minority... I'm black so I have ny very own problems to fight. Except I'm not just black. I'm half white too!... But my heritage is English, Jamaican, Irish, Italian, and Scottish... I consider it as having the very best of many worlds 🙂I'm proud to be mixed.
    Anyway, I'm rambling.
    Thank you, Sara for everything you do and thank you for using your celebrity status to give back to the community... To the WORLD, even... I'm British and still hear and see what you're doing for us all... YOU are amazing ❤️❤️

      you get to have an opinion on whatever, but when it doesn't add anything of value, i don't understand why it has to be shared. i don't want to know if you don't like my haircut or my style. don't tell me that. to comment on people's appearance just because you feel the need to have it heard is mean. is that something you do in real life? do you like having your own looks criticized?

    Great smile. And love how she said chosen family. Those tend to be the best/healthiest I've found because you want to be around those people you choose to love and it's not out of obligation or genetic linkages. Smart interview.

    Cali was the reason I realised I wasn't just "falling around with girls" but actually bi sexual. And I'm not surprised they were scared of backlash for being lgbtq+ when the actor who played George felt he was cut for his own homosexuality.

    To everyone commenting about her hair cut. 1. Your opinion about her hair doesn't matter. 2. She donated her hair to "Locks of Love", an organization that makes wigs for children whose hair fall out due to illness. What have you done?

    • @J0k394
      @J0k394 6 лет назад +3

      Jana Booysen I donated almost 20 inches of my hair 6 weeks ago. Doesn't mean I need to like the haircuts of everyone else who has recently done the same. I dislike shaved sides and undercuts, so, yeah, I love and respect her donation, but I think her hairstyle looks unflattering at best and Kim Yong Un at worst.

    • @janjones7206

    • @J0k394
      @J0k394 6 лет назад +1

      sgtmian because let's face it, people have opinions. People will voice opinions. It's part of basic human interaction. And yeah, if you're in the public eye, more people will see your new outfit/hair/action and have an opinion on it. My opinion should not matter in the great scheme of things, but that doesn't forbid me from having one or voicing it.

    • @sgtmian
      @sgtmian 6 лет назад +1

      it's a completely pointless opinion that doesn't add anything of value, except it might make someone else feel like shit. it doesn't need to be voiced, you can keep it to yourself. i have people in my life who do this, comment on other people's looks behind their backs, even to their face, and it's ugly, i don't understand why anyone would want to be friends with someone like that. people in the public eye are still human beings with feelings, so if you wouldn't say it to their face, why say it at all?

Why does she needs to explain all the time that he is "half European" when she is not? It´s pretty obvios that she has a problem assuming she is Mexican.

    She’s gorgeous! Very well spoken, holds her own and is using her power for good. I can completely relate to the bi-phobia and bi-antagonism she talks about. I came out as lesbian at 16 as I felt that I had to choose a side and it wasn’t until I was 30 that I had the courage to admit that I was actually bisexual. Or perhaps the label pansexual would be a better fit as I’m attracted to people on the gender spectrum. Now I’m happily engaged to a beautiful, androgynous person who equally identifies as male and female - so lucky me! I still have moments where I subconsciously internalise subtle biphobia, which I didn’t realise until I listened to this, so thank you for the reminder Sara, that it is OK & important to 100% own your sexuality.

    When i came out to my parents i was maybe 16. at the time i was scared to tell them because i really didnt know what to expect. they never really took a negative stance against same sex realtionships but they had never had a gay child. i told my friends months before i told them. they reacted great so i built up more and more confidence and decided to tell my family. i had this whole big speech and i thought there would be this huge thing and i would have to stand up and make a big deal out of it. I told them i needed to talk to them both at the same time. and had them sit down in their room and my nerves were thru the roof. they sat down i was like "look i have to tell you something serious. i hope this changes nothing." they looked at each other then at me. i was about to continue and my mom cut me off and said something to the effect of " if this is you telling us your gay we already know. can we not waste time on this?" my body melted. all this time i was so scared and they werent even shocked. it was like me telling them the sky was blue.i knew then that nothing would change with us. and 10 years later my sexuality has had no effect on how we interact . its just who i am and makes no difference to them. they have held there hearts doors open for my girlfriends and have supported me for who i am. they even provide support when others dont support me. even my extended family which a large chunk of them very realigous dont make a big deal about it. its just how it is. grass is green theres 7 days in a week and maddie likes girls. i am very lucky and i know that. i was so scared and have hated myself for who im attracted to off and on for so long. but have been accepted the whole time. i am truly blesses
