Another great episode, thanks. The older generation not understanding why the younger generation would want to go back to tradition is something I (and I imagine most young people in the church) have personally experienced.

I did not grow up with the Latin rite, but I found it 2 years ago and it is now my favorite! My 25 year old daughter prefers no other. We still go to the NO once in a while, and immediate we look at each other because too much happening (like music) that takes the focus from God making the focus on our own focus (moving to the music, shaking hands with others). I can see why this younger generation is attracted to LM; they are seeking truth, and they are finding in a very unique silent, stillness that makes you realize you are there to focus on the Living God. Great show, thank you Fathers!

The Novus Ordo is the ordinary form of the Latin Rite. The TLM is the extraordinary form of the Latin Rite. You didn’t switch Rites.

    Thank you for the presentation.
I only read 14 of Vatican ll documents .
Yes,what you said is there .
I was taught that there are three principle parts of the mass. Offertory, concentration and priest's communion .
I therefore am comfortable with either form .
I am in my late 70's. The advantage is we as children were taught in,the Catholic school, bit by bit the Latin prayers. This includes all smell and bells.
I do notice think it is correct to judge which is preferred.

Bad typing .I do not think judging one another to preference is given to me .
      Thank you for being charitable.

Lived through dialogue Mass, footwashing, balloon mass, clown mass, raisin bread mass, and endless guitar masses, masses with snare drums... They all are horrific.

Is foot washing not a traditional practice?

@@drkissinger1 No. That's why we use the Triduum pre 1955

I'd like to comment on the remark about the Paschal Candle. Pius XII did not add the Paschal Candle in the Vigil of the Lord's Resurrection. Rather, what Pius XII did was he eliminated the use of the three-pronged candle in the service of light, substituting the Paschal Candle in its stead. In the Pre-55 Holy Week, the Paschal Candle was already in the sanctuary and the three-pronged candle was carried to it from the outside of the church.

I also tell people that an analogous situation is football. If you’re not familiar with American football, the game is baffling. As you become familiar with, however, you understand it. So with the Mass. if I take friends to Mass, in either form, I let them know it’s OK to merely experience it. Then, afterwards, the questions are a great way to evangelize.

Benedictines fell apart right after they got their way to dumb down the Mass. I see that Dominicans got to keep. Your Mass.

Pope Benedict had the wisdom that Pope Francis is lacking when it comes to the TLM. Pope Francis makes it hard or impossible for the laity to attend the TLM in 2023. St. Joseph, pray for the Bride of Christ, the Church.

Pius V codified the Tridentine Mass for all time And for everything. New Mass destroys that unity.

The new mass is to pray like a Protestant--wordy, man-centered, denigrating priesthood and sacrifice.

I learned Latin in Catholic school all 16 years. I cried when the church went vernacular. The beauty of Vatican II is we understand the prayers, no one teaches Latin in grade school anymore. I enjoy having the priest face me as he concentrates the Body and Blood of Jesus right before my eyes.

@@sandyjeannette4617 I was sick at heart until Benedict gave the true Mass back to us. The NO is a Protestant prayer service with the Consecration. Only 7 percent of the Catholic Mass was left in.
