I climbed the first year I worked in Yosemite. Then I decided those guys were crazy. It was fun but I didn’t really have proper climbing equipment and learned that is was more dangerous that way. If you two are planning to climb in Alaska buy some crampons before you go. Those safety knots are important.

Good job I only ever climb outdoors I was comfortable leading a sport 5.10 and some 5.11’s but only 5.9 if we are trad climbing
