A lovely tribute Pete, Niels music is still very much alive in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. There are some beautiful renditions of his lament by guitar on RUclips. Thanks for this.

Just found out about him from the Lament for his second wife. It was so beautiful I had to learn who this man is. Thank you for making a video about it.

Thankyou for making this. Very informative. I shall pass this on to my dad, who has told me stories of his many greats grandfather Niel Gow all my life. I feel a visit is on the horizon!

Thanks for taking the time to make this. I was born near the birthplace of Burns, but had not heard of the connection.
