I'm three years late, but thought it would be pertinent to point out you can remove the plastic bridge protector with a (very) sharp knife/scalpel by cutting parallel to and right next to the string. Do it carefully and you'll have it off without any damage to the string/finger/violin!
I normally use PI strings, but now I try Goldbrokat standard ( medium) e-string. Very nice! My violin sounds more "open" . The question : is premium better than standard when it comes to the sound?
Why didn't you make a video on changing strings and how often do u do that .Because a friend of mine change strings in guitar periodically for good sound
Hey, I did not remove the winding from the bridge, but the small protection plastic, which is usually on E-Strings, so that the string doesn't cut into the wood of the bridge. In that process I accidentally damaged the winding at the peg end of the string. Thank you for your comment :)
I think sound samples are misleading, because every violin is different and especially E-strings sound so different paired up with different G,D,A-Strings. Also you need good acoustics for a good sound sample. That is not the case in my room here. But you are right, there could be sound samples and I will keep that in mind for future tests!

Thank you and good idea! I still sometimes run into this problem! I will try that next time!
@@SimonStreuffViolinEducation I've been doing this for years - with a modicum of care it works just fine.

There is already a video about changing violin strings on my channel!
Have you tried the whole set ? Is it good or not ??
No, I wasn't even aware there is a full set?
Why do you remove the winding below the bridge? Do you do that to the other 3 strings?
Thanks Simon, Gott si dank!!

Yes, yes I understand!! Thanks
How often do you change this e string
Yes, short, easily-damaged windings! If not for that Achilles heel they would be the SpaceX of E strings.
where's the sound samples
