Just a few of the 8 cases of mass hysteria I’ll be sharing with you. ** January 7, 1950, events began in what became one of the strangest disappearances of the middle twentieth century - the vanishing of a West Point cadet. ** Visitors to Calke Abbey have reported a strange atmosphere of sadness and foreboding and many have reported being scared by the sounds of a tin whistle. ** We’ve all heard of the Bermuda Triangle - but there are strange, anomalies worldwide - and one in Russia is known as the “M Triangle”. ** As far back as the 19th century, a hairy monster has been frightening guests of an Irish castle. *** When living in a home built in the 1800s, it might be expected to have something paranormal living with you.

Mass hysteria was blamed for an occurrence in a Riverside, CA ER. There was a cancer patient (Gloria Ramirez) who emitted a foul smell and toxic vapors that caused nurses and other employees to pass out. Some had to be hospitalized for a couple of weeks. One medical professional had serious injuries and illness that affected her for many months. And yet, the powers that be insisted for years that all those people imagined their reactions and illnesses - "mass hysteria." Baloney!!!
I heard about that case. There are several videos about it here on RUclips. I didn't really know what to make of it. I sure sounded like something was happening to those hospital workers that came into contact with her, something other than just a case of mass hysteria. If they would have taken tissue samples for later testing, perhaps they could have figured out what the cause was and this case wouldn't be such an enduring mystery.

I remember that! I was shocked about how could anyone's body fester and/or septic and can have that ability to make folks that ill/sick! I didn't believe it was hysteria. Unless u go thru things don't judge or criticize folks.
I remember that too. I saw an interview with one of the nurses that were there and even after several years, she still had some health problems. Things she didn't have until that day.

I didn't check this on Snopes but I was brought up being taught that the dancing was caused by a toxin in fresh baked bread that was made with contaminated flour.
I remember reading about that theory. I don't remember it being associated with the dancing though.
