I dunno, Excitebike was pretty popular, as it was one of the first games with a level creator feature. It was also, one of the first NES sidescrollers by Shigeru Miyamoto predating even SMB.
The Famicom version was originally planned to be a licensed game based on the 1986 anime adaptation of _The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,_ but as the designers were unable to secure the rights to that property, they instead created an original game, which would be released in Japan as _Magical Kids Doropie_ (often referred to as simply _Magical Doropie,_ 'Doropie' being a phonetic rendering of the name 'Dorothy' in Japanese). A substantially modified version of the game was released for the NES in North America as _The Krion Conquest._ In hindsight, it was probably fortunate that the developers missed out on the license, because several years later, a _Wizard of Oz_ game _was_ released for the SNES, and I think we all know how _that_ turned out.
Battle toads is a terrible game. Way too difficult. 60% of players never made it through stage 2 and 85% never made it past level 3. It gets worst as it goes. There has to be much more balance. Castlevania 1+3 are perfect examples of being challenging and fun. Battle toads is like a punishment.

Far more accurate list than most top 100 list. Definitely made by someone who has actually played all these games. I might have missed a couple of them. Good to see PowerBlade, Kickmaster, Shatterhand, GI Joe, and Snake Rattle & Roll on here. Thanks for not adding Festers Quest (ugh!). I own a great deal of these games and a few I played by renting back in the day.
Most the games I would add are Famicom only so they would not count. GetsuFumaDen, Holy Diver, and the Famicom disk versions of a few classics which are better than the carts. I happen to have 4 of them.
Worst NES game I have ever played is Home Alone(it's an abomination). Other stinkers I rented include Back to the Future, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers(unpopular opinion, I think it sucks), most Disney, cartoon, and movie games suck dirt, just about any game made by LGN is beyond terrible.
I disagree, some movie games are good. (Particularly, Batman, difficulty aside, it was fun.) The Disney Capcom games were good too, most feel.

Why no Wario's Woods?
No SMB2? 😱
Smb2 is at 16 on the list!
An impressive list ,but I disagree with some of the placement of games .For instance Castlevania 3 should of been placed higher then 1 ..And Little Samson is a far better game then Bucky O’Hare ..
Maybe, but Castlevania 3's final boss was kinda annoying, and it would of been better if you could get more then one ally.

Zen Intergalacxy ninja????
Super Mario Bros 3 the GOAT.
Jackal should be way higher on the list imo
imo, ducktales 2 should be on the list
I thought long and hard about that one lone ranger. The price of a loose copy is just insane!
Wait a minute what about donkey Kong? Or is it on there and I missed it?
It was on the list. Though, Junior was missing sadly.
@@beauwalker9820 oh damn I missed it somehow
Donkey Kong only made it to 78??? Highly sus
Bucky O'Hare had the best music
There were a ton of great sounding NES games Blaster Master, MegaMan 2, Castlevania, Ninja Garden, DuckTales all come to mind!
Increíble no ver Adventure Island 2 o Jacky Chan y además ver Félix el Gato en el puesto 100.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is the BEST Ninja Gaiden in NES!!!!.
