They build jokes through the whole show, and theres a surprising amount of satire, and subtle references to society and current events.
They used to make the show the week of, and finish it the day before they air. So they had The most current events included every week

So to give y’all input on the first clip Eric Cartman previously had took a picture of his thing inside butters mouth when he was asleep thinking that would make butters Gay when he went on to show kyle and stan the picture he told them that butters was gay for having his thing in his mouth, Kyle disagreed and called eric gay instead and told him the only way he can reverse the role was to have butters put his mouth on his thing so thats what he was doing in that first clip
