The monkey's paw curls. 12 online multiplayer games suddenly find their communities dwindling in numbers, as one by one their player bases lose interest and their servers become a shadow of what they once were.
@_malo_martI played it quite a bit back in the day. If you can get a few people to play with I would say it might be worth checking out and playing it for a bit
ok, the picture of mike ehrmantraut alone on the mars mountain looking at the group, stalked by someone else and posted on the linkedin just destroyed my sides xD And honestly the whole event looked pretty cool
just be glad youre office drone man you might have a completely meaningless job depending on the floor you inhabit, but it's still better than stocking shelves and trying to help deaf old foreigners find something oddly specific in your health food store that doesnt stock the same things as all the others of the same franchise in town 😅 and if you spend too long helping them youre definitely not getting all your stuff done today because corporate has algorithms running how many hours your store is allotted
38:12 it's nuts that there was someone behind you, what a reveal. I was admiring how by the time you got up there your journey seemed to inspire other people to wander off - never would've imagined one of those wanderers was hovering over your shoulder
At 37:37 You can see a little guy wandering around away from the group, who then turns around and (presumably) sees Mike on top of the mountain. I feel like it had to be him.
"I get sad when I see an AI image and not a crusty photoshop image" is so real to my browsing experience that I had to stop for a minute and mourn what we have lost in our internet culture. Once again this series makes me emotional in ways i did not think I could. 10/10
See, then he hits you with the Dr. Sarah guided meditation stuff right after, which is just some genuinely wholesome interactions with online strangers.
@Takutanuva03on a serious note, going to American cities as a Russian is terrifying. There's homeless everywhere. There's evil rich people everywhere. There's absolutely no normal thing to see.
@b@bldontmatter5319 Bro is trying to act like America is the only country that has homeless people and evil people. Tell me, what has your leader been up to these past few years, hmm? 🤨
32:20 the way the guy says “mike how are you, what are you doing here” in a somewhat threatening manner, followed by (presumably) kicking you is terrifying
the random player standing beside you in anthem felt so sweet. i always love silent little interactions like that between strangers in games. it's like "yeah, i wanna share this moment with you" :)
what no game chat does to people: (no but i love games with no/very limited game chat, i’ve had enough slurs thrown at me on overwatch to appreciate the humble crouch spamming in minecraft or kids’ games interaction word lists lol)
Rye Games does videos with the same concept, but theirs are less comedic and more reflective. A great channel if you like redlyne. I follow both of them.
@MediaBoy13he acknowledges that shit is flat out funny or weird without doing it in a way that completely alienates people that might be into it. He has respect for people.
The Engage segment was actually pretty neat, the small community and everyone laughing along to Mike's antics was so nice. It makes you realize just how real the small communities are on these random games, huh? :]
The in-game memorials bring a whole new meaning to "dead" games. The idea that people devoted so much time and effort, formed communities and developed real relationships in these games, only to pass away and have their account eventually deleted or the game shut down forever and all evidence of that erased... its a tragic loss that hurts the soul. Its like the line at the end of Blade Runner: "All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
36:36 It’s DESTROYING me that this guy fumbles his way into so many situations, the fact that he’s on some corporate employee’s legitimate linked-in account stance’d up the Mike way is hilarious and then the REVEAL 38:12 that some corporate employee was following him around and is waxing poetic online about a screenshot of MIKE EHRMANTRAUT
A quote from the LinkedIn post for the event, "Mike's knowledge of the desert in New Mexico makes him a perfect candidate for Mars. Glad to see he was able to make it on time for the discussion with the rest of the group and take in the beautiful valley view at peace."
"Played only with bots" > Literally footage of me at 45:17 lmfao Good coverage tho, glad to see my favorite childhood game getting some love =) PS: I see you shwoed me again at 47:27 or so, "Dominating the lobby", so I take it back =D I am honestly trash at the game, I rely too much on the powerups =)
Bro legit went "Bot lobbies!" when real players played 😢 Also, does the author of the mod have any plans to release the game on Steam? I would've played it if it was, ngl 😅
32:00 I have no idea why but this is probably the hardest I’ve laughed in a while. I don’t if it’s the sheer confusion or the music but god my fucking ribs hurt. I needed this today
One of the most striking features of a lot of the Dead Games series is how the communities genuinely loved and mourned their lost members, and for a lot of these, I feel like the in-game memorials are what will be missed the most when and if these servers go offline.
1:13:10 Umamusume took me into a horse rabbit hole and now I know decades of Japanese horse racing lore and pedigree trees for horses. It's a real rabbit hole.
As someone who was a Toontown player around 2005 it was seriously the best. If you had a subscription you got actual mail they sent every month that included trading cards. The online forums (yes, forums) was very, very active. I was sad to hear when it shutdown but the team behind Rewritten did an amazing job keeping the game alive.
Jamie Christopherson wasn't the ONLY composer, there were many, and he didn't even compose the most iconic tracks for the game. It ultimately lies on Disney for not properly crediting all the composers, but I hate seeing this get spread around for years without the full context
I searched for "Uther" on the steam store page, clicked on what I assumed to be the steam rebrand of Utherverse, called 'UtherWorld' and immediately got got by the store page, holy shit. They don't try to hide it at all, my god.
in Toontown you dont have to use the gags that many times, its still a grind, but theres multipliers in cog buildings and bosses etc, also get multipliers for COG evasions. Grinding gags in high story cog buildings during a cog invasion speeds things up like crazy. And yes it is very slow, i wish they would add the sprint button like they have in Toontown corporate clash
Hey man just wanted to say your stuff is so refreshing on today's youtube. feels like you really enjoy the stuff you make. you are definitely one of my favorite creators. thanks for the awesome vids
27:21 honestly, the most goddamned funny shit I have heard all week. Big Frank describing his preference for the whimsical the Big Mac is something I will forever associate with that Founding Father.
I'm just appreciating how his Utherverse Saulsona looks really just like a low poly Saul Goodman World of Padman really seems like the kinda game that should have AT LEAST a pretty substantial cult following, if not a whole little fanbase. I wonder what happened to this game
as an OG toontown player who still often plays the rewritten version i can say with confidence a core amount of the active player base are indeed the 30+ crowd who played since they were kids. as you advance in the game you spend a lot of time in factories and boss fights talking to strangers who talk about their kids and how they’re passing down the love for TT to newer generations. its really sweet :)
FYI the "Utherverse" Steam page is just Mount & Blade characters having sex. Excerpt from the Steam page: "Thousands of Sex Moves - Straight, Gay, Lesbian - even 3-ways in UtherWorld- an Adult Social MMO and nightlife sim where every avatar is a real person."
1:04:52 I wish more games would do stuff like when FFXIV "started over." You had a world boss quite literally wipe the servers and the players, and then they restarted the game all over. It would be pretty cool if games shutting down gave you that one final epic scene at the end.
world of padman looks very charming. as you said, it does look like the type of game that if released on steam in the late 2000s, itd probably have a small playerbase today
tbf with toontown, I feel like a lot of the OG's are deep into the game and not still in the middle or beginning still. I have to imagine that a lot of new players may indeed be newgens. Not that there are not OGs just now going back, but I have reached the end game and it really feels like its 80% people that grew up with it still playing. Also I promise you don't need to use a gag 10000 times. There are xp multipliers and using better gags will net you 100x experience.
the engage segment probably has to be my most favorite covering of a game in this series as whole. like, by FAR. that was so good... like it only got better. you had me at "burger? burger." with bennie franklino but when THE director of the swedish national space station made an appearance it was literally a golden cherry on top. that was good.
world of padman seemed interesting so I went to the website to try and download it but as soon as I clicked the download button malwarebytes instantly blocked everything so that was kinda scary
toontown will forever hold a special place in my heart. it was the last game i remember playing with my mom before she passrf during my childhood. still play toontown rewritten every year for a month or two lol
this is one of the most insane videos i've ever watched, took me places i never expected to go and made me aware of things i still struggle to fit into my view of the world which i now know is more woefully limited and insular than i ever knew before. thank you for allowing me this celestially illuminating experience
the engage XR segment was so good, both the goofing around and the way the other people reacted. seems like a cozy, good-natured community also world of padman looked awesome

ad ends at 2:37
W, bro got the sponsor, I love your videos sm man you the goat
Mike Ehrmantraut stalking these poor people like some kind of SCP is so funny to me. They just kinda started accepting it like "Oh that's just Mike"
they just became so chill with him it’s great
"yeah, who's the old fart runnin' around back there?" and the laughter from the other people made me smile ear to ear lol
The photo of him overlooking everyone took me off guard. I started laughing ao hard
the ENGAGE XR segment might be some of the best content I've ever seen on RUclips LMAO
It's so good
35:14 "What in the world is that... (trying to contain laughter) 5pm eastern time... (something something)... Im gonna have to zap him out!"
the engage players being completely confounded by your presence is genuinely the greatest thing ever
Imagine just walking into a small presentation on top of an office skyscraper and acting like you belong
This is so perfect
@BüildBuy12 This reminded me of that one scene from spongebob where Patrick infiltrated a CEOs meeting
see y'all in 2077 for silly saturday
With the sandevistan
Sure…
Cya there choom
Yeah I’ll be 79, if not, dead
Hope so 😉
It was great having you at The Foremothers Cafe Redlyne! Glad you enjoyed our trip to Mars.
"mike ehrmantraut is forever immortalized in space lore" is going to be a sentence i randomly remember
on LinkedIn
To tell you, I was hollering at the picture and this line... this is pure cinema.
waltuh help I'm stuck on the ISS
As someone who is into spaceflight, this is the most unexpected crossover I have ever seen.
I genuinely hope this series never ends. Easily some of my favorite content on the platform rn.
The monkey's paw curls. 12 online multiplayer games suddenly find their communities dwindling in numbers, as one by one their player bases lose interest and their servers become a shadow of what they once were.
"content on the platform" why do we talk like this now
@NightTimeDaycontent on RUclips. You happy?
Honestly! It's my exact type of humor.
@sr.365 no he is content which is better
getting freaky at the utherverse 9/11 memorial
maybe we could kiss under the Photobucket™ watermark? 🥺
that was my favourite shot
a night u will never forget
@st4rz.of.perditionactual banger comment
@robotman99lolface thank u lolface i know i can trust ur judgement on lols
dude, the World of Padman site shared your video. it's their most recent blog post right now. you're LITERALLY gamer famous
honestly they seem like really cool people. So wholesome
unironically his review of it made me genuinely want to play the game 😭 it seems fun and i absolutely love the look of it and the work put into it
@_malo_martI played it quite a bit back in the day. If you can get a few people to play with I would say it might be worth checking out and playing it for a bit
WOP meet up?
@DangerkraftI might hop on later today
ok, the picture of mike ehrmantraut alone on the mars mountain looking at the group, stalked by someone else and posted on the linkedin just destroyed my sides xD
And honestly the whole event looked pretty cool
38:13 Holy fuck I burst out laughing at that. You made some bored office drone's day when he found Mike Ehrementraut bouncing around mars.
I'm pretty sure that's just a still from the show when Mike is in the desert with his sniper
@gallow_it’s not, it was commented on a post about the event on LinkedIn
so real bro that’s awesome
just be glad youre office drone man you might have a completely meaningless job depending on the floor you inhabit, but it's still better than stocking shelves and trying to help deaf old foreigners find something oddly specific in your health food store that doesnt stock the same things as all the others of the same franchise in town 😅 and if you spend too long helping them youre definitely not getting all your stuff done today because corporate has algorithms running how many hours your store is allotted

Who's the old fart running around 😂
"Oh that's just Mike." I'm crying lmao
One of my favourite things about redlyne is how his narration voice and his gameplay voice are wildly completely different
"I get sad when I see an AI image and not a crusty photoshop image" is so real to my browsing experience that I had to stop for a minute and mourn what we have lost in our internet culture. Once again this series makes me emotional in ways i did not think I could. 10/10
Oh my God SHUT UP
@youngnoodle1963 newgen
@youngnoodle1963 Does it hurt your feefees when people are mean to the plagiarism machines created by billionaires? :c sowwy widdle baby
See, then he hits you with the Dr. Sarah guided meditation stuff right after, which is just some genuinely wholesome interactions with online strangers.
@youngnoodle1963there are valid reasons to hate ai so relax. If it doesn't bother you it's fine but let others boycott it, it's not your choice
The idea of Mike tracking a target to Mars like he bought his own spaceship is cracking me up
35:40 “whos the old fart running around back there” IM DYING THATS SO FUNNY
"oh thats mike!--" really puts it together
That’s Mike- he’s a good guy 😊
IM DYINGGG
I cackled when I heard it
Toontown is actually built on crime and tomfoolery
Much like all major American cities
you regularly throw shit at people on the street and nobody does anything to stop you
@Takutanuva03on a serious note, going to American cities as a Russian is terrifying. There's homeless everywhere. There's evil rich people everywhere. There's absolutely no normal thing to see.
@bldontmatter5319this makes 0 sense
@b@bldontmatter5319 Bro is trying to act like America is the only country that has homeless people and evil people. Tell me, what has your leader been up to these past few years, hmm? 🤨
32:20 the way the guy says “mike how are you, what are you doing here” in a somewhat threatening manner, followed by (presumably) kicking you is terrifying
it sounds like theyre contacting a spirit via ouija board 😭
They’re doing crime
the random player standing beside you in anthem felt so sweet. i always love silent little interactions like that between strangers in games. it's like "yeah, i wanna share this moment with you" :)
what no game chat does to people:
(no but i love games with no/very limited game chat, i’ve had enough slurs thrown at me on overwatch to appreciate the humble crouch spamming in minecraft or kids’ games interaction word lists lol)
I was going to talk about this too, its a very human moment.
And then there is DbD with the most toxic community I've ever seen without a chat. And yes, I was a very active League Player
redlyne, i'll say it again. your gentlemanly tact is what makes this entire formula "yours". no one else can, or probably could do it like you.
it's not gentlemanly necessarily he still swears and stuff, he's just chill
@TheHippyProductions he just has a really elegant approach for lack of a better word, it's hard to explain
@MediaBoy13 He is just chill
Mike Ehrmentraut might be the best dead game explorer yet
The Engage segment was actually pretty neat, the small community and everyone laughing along to Mike's antics was so nice. It makes you realize just how real the small communities are on these random games, huh? :]
yea i loved that section so much
The meditation was wholesome af
The pastor who went "what was that" under his breath when Mike flew by really cracked me up.
World of Padman was my childhood. It makes me so happy to see it talked about here!!!
Hitting that yaayaa crazystyle, the office will learn some new words
36:36 It’s DESTROYING me that this guy fumbles his way into so many situations, the fact that he’s on some corporate employee’s legitimate linked-in account stance’d up the Mike way is hilarious and then the REVEAL 38:12 that some corporate employee was following him around and is waxing poetic online about a screenshot of MIKE EHRMANTRAUT
36:24 This is the single wildest thing you have done on one of these videos. How the hell did you find this lmao
The speaker at the space event on Engage posted this video to her linkedin !
A quote from the LinkedIn post for the event, "Mike's knowledge of the desert in New Mexico makes him a perfect candidate for Mars. Glad to see he was able to make it on time for the discussion with the rest of the group and take in the beautiful valley view at peace."
"Played only with bots"
> Literally footage of me at 45:17 lmfao
Good coverage tho, glad to see my favorite childhood game getting some love =)
PS: I see you shwoed me again at 47:27 or so, "Dominating the lobby", so I take it back =D
I am honestly trash at the game, I rely too much on the powerups =)
i hope you get better at this game!
@ChapuleTaylor 💀
Legend
Bro legit went "Bot lobbies!" when real players played 😢
Also, does the author of the mod have any plans to release the game on Steam? I would've played it if it was, ngl 😅
The tonal whiplash of Utherverse shops to the 9/11 Memorial killed me.
32:00 I have no idea why but this is probably the hardest I’ve laughed in a while. I don’t if it’s the sheer confusion or the music but god my fucking ribs hurt. I needed this today
Mike's a good guy
20:13 i love how old hangout games do these memorial places. its so sweet.
One of the most striking features of a lot of the Dead Games series is how the communities genuinely loved and mourned their lost members, and for a lot of these, I feel like the in-game memorials are what will be missed the most when and if these servers go offline.

Mambo
As someone who was a Toontown player around 2005 it was seriously the best. If you had a subscription you got actual mail they sent every month that included trading cards. The online forums (yes, forums) was very, very active.
I was sad to hear when it shutdown but the team behind Rewritten did an amazing job keeping the game alive.
used to collect the shit out of those cards
also, the in game shop rotated with exclusive items only available at certain times
Same! Toontown was my childhood. I’m still so crushed that I no longer have all the trading cards I got in the mail from them
@cherubdemon2781 I don't either :( Wish I kept them!
Toontown was peak entertainment when i was 8-12
Fun fact, Jamie Christopherson, the guy who composed the Toontown soundtrack, also made the music for METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE
I guess it’s all in the rules of nature, sometimes the sands of time take over fate. uhhhh, uhhhh Red Sun (help me out here)
@SirQwert red sun over paradise
Career high was toon town
Aint no way, what a wild career
Jamie Christopherson wasn't the ONLY composer, there were many, and he didn't even compose the most iconic tracks for the game. It ultimately lies on Disney for not properly crediting all the composers, but I hate seeing this get spread around for years without the full context
37:15 the way they got further and further away killed me. who is mike and where is he going
I'm gasping for air, who is behind mike????
@maqima
I think it had to be an admin.
The Mike ehrmantrout segment was some of the most entertaining stuff I’ve seen in a while
redlyne for april fools can you make a game exploring alive games ? please thank you
alive but wholly dead games, overwatch 2 for example ^.^”
@_malo_martspeaking as its renamed to overwatch, think he can’t do that
I searched for "Uther" on the steam store page, clicked on what I assumed to be the steam rebrand of Utherverse, called 'UtherWorld' and immediately got got by the store page, holy shit.
They don't try to hide it at all, my god.
Engage XR seems like Linkedin but Roblox
Be careful with Horse Isle 1. It only has 2 stars for parental safety. Try Horse Isle 2 for maximum parental safety.
It's important to keep your parents safe.
big fan of the edm dancefloor interludes that are lovingly dotted throughout this series
in Toontown you dont have to use the gags that many times, its still a grind, but theres multipliers in cog buildings and bosses etc, also get multipliers for COG evasions. Grinding gags in high story cog buildings during a cog invasion speeds things up like crazy. And yes it is very slow, i wish they would add the sprint button like they have in Toontown corporate clash
you can sprint by double tapping the forward arrow key
There is sprint lol. Also, they're invasions not evasion
tap the forward arrow twice to sprint! :)
One of the crimes listed, being "Being too silly" killed me
We will not stand for toontown and fusionfall slander in this house
Redlyne covering Toontown is the greatest Valentine’s gift ever
The engage XR segment genuinely might be the best thing in this series so far, profoundly existential and insanely funny
I love that the Padman people posted this video on the website.
27:28 - Big Mac for its WHIMSY LOL
Hey man just wanted to say your stuff is so refreshing on today's youtube. feels like you really enjoy the stuff you make. you are definitely one of my favorite creators. thanks for the awesome vids
27:21 honestly, the most goddamned funny shit I have heard all week. Big Frank describing his preference for the whimsical the Big Mac is something I will forever associate with that Founding Father.
I was a 30 year old playing TT a few years back. The nostalgia hits at any age.
I'm just appreciating how his Utherverse Saulsona looks really just like a low poly Saul Goodman
World of Padman really seems like the kinda game that should have AT LEAST a pretty substantial cult following, if not a whole little fanbase. I wonder what happened to this game
"The people that played toon town as kids would be in their mid twenties to early thirties." And just like that I start crumbling to dust.
Yo guys it's me, Bababooey, hey did that guy just turn into sand?
The main issue i have with Redlyne is that the video eventually ends.
Everyone say, “Thank you, Redlyne”
Thank you, Redlyne
thank you, redlyne
thank you, redlyne
enyldeR ,uoy knahT
Thank you, Redlyne
ENGAGE XR was so fucking funny. i literally cried. You are the best Redlyne.
What scene about floppy are you talking about? Someone please let me know 6:20
as an OG toontown player who still often plays the rewritten version i can say with confidence a core amount of the active player base are indeed the 30+ crowd who played since they were kids. as you advance in the game you spend a lot of time in factories and boss fights talking to strangers who talk about their kids and how they’re passing down the love for TT to newer generations. its really sweet :)
Yep. I’m not 30 but I played as a kid and I love it still as an adult. One of the few nostalgic games we have left
Stalking people as Mike genuinely killed me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You know how it is
He was ITCHING for a racing game in his video, so he can use his Racing Lagoon OST to its full potential
This series means a whole lot to me, redlyne
The Engage section is the best segment I have ever seen on this channel, amazing stuff bro
Good heavens 😢
That feels very bladerunner-esque
Thousands?? Woah...
1:04:52 I wish more games would do stuff like when FFXIV "started over." You had a world boss quite literally wipe the servers and the players, and then they restarted the game all over. It would be pretty cool if games shutting down gave you that one final epic scene at the end.
45:46 Lmao, that's the lancer Sound effect
16:10 Saul Goodman RPGMaker Final Boss Fight French Squad [No Hit/100%/Walkthrough/No-Commentary]
world of padman looks very charming. as you said, it does look like the type of game that if released on steam in the late 2000s, itd probably have a small playerbase today
everyone say thank you to redlyne for feeding us when we needed him most
Ive never been happier to see a sponsored section in a video before. Cheers man. You deserve it.
The ad started, I reached to skip it on instinct and stopped myself. All for my guy getting that bag.
Fata morgana pfp peak
The memorial garden 20:00 hit me harder than a truck
tbf with toontown, I feel like a lot of the OG's are deep into the game and not still in the middle or beginning still.
8:24 Wake the F up Samurai its Silly Saturday
In Toontown, what makes someone a criminal?
Nice timing, my pizza just arrived lol
SAME LOL
What pizza you guys having
Jalapeno and beef toppings on mine :]
Lmao same
Cheeeeeeeese pizza
I thought you said at the start "With every day that passes, more days pass." 😂 I was like yea thats the idea.
I thought he was gonna say something to the effect of the "In Africa every 60 seconds a minute passes. Together we can stop this." meme
missed opportunity tbh lmao.
dare i say this is a sort of digital anthropology
And just like real life, you get pay peanuts for doing it.
the engage segment probably has to be my most favorite covering of a game in this series as whole. like, by FAR. that was so good... like it only got better. you had me at "burger? burger." with bennie franklino but when THE director of the swedish national space station made an appearance it was literally a golden cherry on top. that was good.
16:12 hit me in just the right way that I laughed so hard I started seeing spots.
Wild rider looks like an albino keemstar
I didn't know today was going to be such a good day. Then I refreshed my RUclips feed. Cheers to another Redlyne video to watch 500 times.
41:06 the whole cosmic funeral thing made my eyes water ngl
world of padman looks genuinely sick. need to try it out
FusionFall slander is wild, games fantactic
that shit was my childhood
world of padman seemed interesting so I went to the website to try and download it but as soon as I clicked the download button malwarebytes instantly blocked everything so that was kinda scary
Its a completely safe file tho so if you can give it a try and play with our fun little community
Definitely a false positive, no way a game with that much effort put into it would turn out to be a malware
DO NOT SPEAK ILL OF FUSION FALL, I CAST A WICKED MALEDICTION ON YOU KNAVE
Woooo I love HydraulicBeanbag
love the content man.
also the gran turismo 4 music is an instant sub.
I love how respectful you are
I just want to say that I love you dude. These videoes are, in all honesty, my favorite videoes on RUclips lol
That space viking funeral ship part was pretty cool
my cat started going bananas and that's how i knew googie's spirit inhabited them to tell me a new redlyne video dropped
Best comment 💚😺💛
4:35 “old Godzilla was hopping around old tokyo city like a big playground”
toontown will forever hold a special place in my heart. it was the last game i remember playing with my mom before she passrf during my childhood. still play toontown rewritten every year for a month or two lol
There is a deep irony to business men tearing down the town in a game designed Disney.
this is one of the most insane videos i've ever watched, took me places i never expected to go and made me aware of things i still struggle to fit into my view of the world which i now know is more woefully limited and insular than i ever knew before. thank you for allowing me this celestially illuminating experience
hey! i'm 26, my best friend is also 26 and SHE IS STILL PLAYING TOONTOWN. i can assure you most of the people playing are pushing 30
Look at that dawg, that's a nice dog right there
I'd say it's a mix of actual children and people with nostalgia (pushing 30), but yeah good chunk is the latter
the engage XR segment was so good, both the goofing around and the way the other people reacted. seems like a cozy, good-natured community
also world of padman looked awesome
