I was never someone that grew up with the game, I started playing it a couple years ago, but it's still been so fun for me. I do my dailies every day (as any good Neopet parent should), and I mostly just stay with it for the fun of it. I love the Altador Cup whenever it rolls around too, that's always so enjoyable! And I've made a few really nice friends through it too. Even if some people consider it dead, I still love the game, and I'm sure I'll continue playing for a while. Glad to find another player, it feels so rare nowadays lol
I admire your dedication to Neopets! I still have a few Neopets plushies from Limited Too. I used to have a Disco Aisha plush that talked and it was given away without my knowledge; heartbroken to this day!

I remember some friends got me into this in 2001. I wasn't very accomplished in it, but it was fun raising a pet. It was sad when my account got hacked during the Merridell/Darigan War and they sent my pet to the pound, which funny enough my pet is still alive. I made a new pet and kept playing for a while but then lost interest. My old account got purged but I had made a new one not long ago and I pop on to do the quick stuff. Typically just the battledome and the lab ray. I will say I like how better the game seems now. There's more better weapons and they're more affordable. I remember when any weapon with 10 icons or more were always millions of neopoints. Now you get 16 icon weapons for under that. I also like how there's more ways to make money. As a kid I wasn't so good at it and even now having less free time it's nice you can play for 10 minutes and still get ahead. It's crazy to see most of the OG top players around like Featheralley and hrobi even after 20 years too.

I still play neopets on and off, but I mostly stick to dailies and checking to see if they converted any good games to html5. Occassionally I'll try some restocking but I have no luck with that sort of thing.
My friend alluded that she has been playing it again and I have been playing it daily for the last couple weeks gearing up my Ruki to be effective in 1P Battledome

I feel like some years back they were saying every year that they were going to shut down the website because of the flash player issue but they never did lol. I started playing neopets when I was 8 and continued playing on and off up into high school (I’m 24 now), I haven’t played in years but I’m kind of itching to start again 😭 but now I’m remembering what pushed me away from it in the first place: the introduction of real world money (e.g. neocash and account subscriptions). I’ve just never been down to spend my money on this stuff and felt that it puts me and other users like me at a disadvantage in the game :(

You can still install an old flash and use pale moon (a web browser) to play the games, and some dailies that you can no longer access because of no flash.
On one hand I'm glad the BD is so easy to farm for codestones (and nerkmids if you're on premium) on the other hand it's way easier to farm codestones now and they're devalued a bit because of that.
