Next day, Forsen watched Sseth's Rimworld review: • Forsen Reacts to Sseth...
Forsen was unsure whether Sseth made every game seem fun to play with his incredible editing skills, so he had to check out one of the last reviews and see for himself. Even though Kenshi was not the right game for Forsen, he pointed out that he liked Sseth's humour before (Previously, on Skrollex: • Forsen Reacts to Sseth... ) and wanted to watch more videos from him, so he didn't mind.
This time around, Forsen reacts to and talks about his experience with Kenshi while reacting to Sseth's review of it in this twitch reaction compilation.

@@qiff6667 Legos obviously, trains are boring as fuck, Legos are extremely creative (obviously presuming you would not use the pre-built shit they peddle to the kids nowadays.
The more detailed a game is, especially in the strategy section, the more autistic it is. The fact that some autistic children are fascinated by trains is probably due to the fact that many autistics also have a developmental disorder (technically unrelated to the autism) and therefore hate when things are chaotic and don't follow a clear schedule, which trains do.
@@PLPCPLAPD I don't consider myself a casual gamer. I'm fairly good at multiple RTS and TBS games, put over 1000 hours each into a lot of games of various genres, love to have a lot of depth in them, but man... Dwarf Fortress really is autistic. The level of detail is, let's be real, unnecessary. It can still be fun, but it's really taxing on you because of how much clutter has been programmed into it over the years. I feel like someone, be it a modder or the original creator, should finally start optimising it and trimming the fat. Sometimes, simplifying things makes them better.

Life lessons that are actually true and not wishful thinking? Freedom to be creative as well as the ability to grind to your goal?
You mean actual quality entertainment that pushes you to learn how to tell stories better so that you can talk to your friends about your adventures without them needing to know the game at all?
Dude, these games can make Odysseys with 20 hours of gameplay, you can say it's over complicated, but that really only tells us that most people are too dumb to play these games or too lazy to learn and to think in order to get something out of them.

100 hours in one game for a variety streamer is a lot. Other "Insert game" streamers can easily eclipse 1k hours if they are successful.

@@AngeloT2001 10 hours a week for 10 weeks is easy. We don't mean 50 hours a week, which is possible with a part time, living at parents house situation.

Kenshi's pretty simple, right click to do stuff, left click to select, wasd and qe for the camera, and the rest is explained through easy to access tutorials.
I dont think Kenshi is pretty simple, but I still got into it fairly easily
and there are way harder games to learn out there
Kenshi’s pretty complicated, but it’s not Dwarf Fortress levels of obtuse. I never found myself needing a guide to understand what was going on, unless I wanted to know the specifics of how disguises worked.
Not-my-kind-of-game Forsen the intellectual prefers more complex games such as Flappy Bird and Fortnite.

My problem is mostly the claim of "bad UI" is just them not having iPad buttons for everything with rounded corners.
Dwarf Fortress, for example, despite the common complaints, actually has a rather excellent in my opinion UI. Everything is clearly labeled with the relevant hotkey, and to access them, you have to hit that hotkey. It leads to you learning said hotkeys quickly, and as a result, I can construct quite a complex fortress in only a few minutes.
Not to say there aren't issues. Mostly with where certain things are, as well as the lists lacking the ability to scroll through with the mousewheel, and of course the military screen which is just awful.

It's like someone complaining about a book because no graph or diagram properly explains it, even though the text clearly explains everything.

@@Nixonitus Look, I really like Dwarf Fortress. But its UI is not good. Not even from a visual point of view. It's extremely inconsistent. Sometimes you select things with the cursor keys. Sometimes it's plus and minus. Sometimes using left and right arrow works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes there's letter shortcuts, sometimes there aren't. Sometimes those letter shortkeys are alphabetical, sometimes they aren't. Why is a dining room created by assigning it to a piece of furniture, but a tavern is a zone you create in an entirely menu? I love the game, but the UX is fucking horrible.

There's very few things the cursor works, but, you aren't entirely wrong. The military and job screens are great examples of poor implementation, as it stands. Still, everything else seems to work rather brilliantly.

Not really, people prefer easier pick up and play games like Halo and etc because... well not everyone likes learning a bajillion buttons just to play the game properly, yeah it may not be as complex as it may seem from an outsider's view like mine, but I'm not gonna pick up the game anyway because it's simply not my genre, not my type of game as I prefer FPS games, genuine skill over simply levelling up, getting good gear and mashing your buttons on an enemy until either of you die, not to bash those types of games or the people who play them of course, or XCOM 2 to be tactically challenging and make me think hard on my decisions before I make them because it could end in the perma-death of one of my most prized units, difficult and complex enough for me to enjoy without being too obtuse or convoluted. This of course doesn't necessarily mean I'm a moron(I am) I simply prefer games that don't require me to have hours or days of dedication just to learn how to do one or two new things.

Nearly every time I try to move from A to B, i'm attacked by beakthings, spiders, bandits, or a combination of all three.
Robbaz plays it alot on stream and he makes it fun. It may not be a game for Forsens patience or taste, but it can be streamed.

Depends on whether he's got the patience and stomach for it. It's a huge time sink and there's so much you can do in the game. His enjoyment of it would 've reliant on how imaginative he can get with it.

Also depends on what audience you've cultivated. An ADHD kid who watches fortnite isn't going to sit through an 8 hour kenshi stream.

@@OrionDawn15 Kenshi really isn't that complex, in-fact you don't even use any "attack button" though the seth video doesn't show the game like a tutorial does.
Basically the game plays like an RTS, the devs' vision was more to make the player the observer. What seems to end up turning most players off on Kenshi is that there is nearly nothing the game does to push the player towards any goal. =P
It kind of makes the game more of a story telling medium. =\

Getting characters stronger revolves around a cycle of fight, get KO'd, heal, repeat while gradually working up to stronger and more dangerous enemies.
Cheesing this revolves around picking up a body, loading up on weight, and getting into fist fights. =P
