Simpleflips inspired others to clear uncleared levels, that's why he gets beaten to it and sees recent comments! Unironically, a simple RUclips show made a bunch of people excited to play user content and maybe make some people's days to see their levels being played! Community empowerment to the moon!
Yeah, I look them up almost daily now when I’m a little bored of endless... You get some interesting, creative levels you never would have played otherwise... I mean you get some real shitters too! Haha but that’s not the point.
Hate to be that guy, but a few other SMM RUclipsrs (with way more subs than Simple sadly, cause SImple really deserves a lot more) also started Uncleared series in the last months.
Still, it's nice to see these people having their forgotten levels being played.

It’s like a sport; some players inspire you even though they weren’t the first to play... plus simple is so kind, I think it rubs off on others and makes them want to play an uncleared to brighten the makers day.

Yeah. Plus it's a really old idea, there were already people that wanted to make sure (and are probably still at it) that every Mario Maker 1 level get's cleared.

The solution to that last level was actually crazy
It kinda has to be crazy. You can't upload a level by beating it in multiplayer. So there had to be some sort of single player solution, at every checkpoint.
You're right, that second level was just a little trolley. It took you all over the place, was on rails, and was also an iconic piece of public transport that played a major part in shaping the city of San Francisco into what it is today.

@SuperPositiveP Nope, you have to clear the level in single player to upload; they didn’t intend for anyone to play that level single player so they put a super obscure dev path that you wouldn’t find in multi
But now that Simple has figured it out, everyone who's seen this video will cheese this level when they get it in versus.
Oh man, I cleared the second level in this video just minutes after you did yesterday. And by the time I cleared it I found out it was already beaten because I got world record. That's so weird, I had no idea you had beaten it before I did!

@@breadbugking sorry my previous post probably wasn't a very satisfying response. what i mean by "language doesn't work like that" is as follows:
japanese and english are extremely different languages. there is no single word in english that corresponds directly to honki (本気). for any language, every word has a whole context around it: ways it is typically used, famous ways it has been used, subtle emotional connections that aren't included in the main definition. to translate from one language to another, you have to recreate all of that as closely as you can, not just substitute one word with another. honki is a word that is used when you're talking about giving something your all, really going for it. "seriously" would in many cases be a decent word to use when translating it. if i wanted to use it to translate this level title, i would render it as "I'm Serious Now"
anyway, i hope that makes sense!

I was never into SMM because I already develop games full time, but Simple’s really making me reconsider picking it up. Looking at the different designs and metrics within such a closed system gets the designer in me excited the way I used to when exploring amateur Roblox and Minecraft content as a kid.

Current theory on the last one was that they started making a super complex puzzle to mask the solution but then realized halfway through that they really could just put a vine somewhere and they'd get the same result.
The Uncleared Level's series is like Papers Please, where later on it gets harder due to needing a stamp for "reason for no clears".

The first level directly translates to "My seriousness", but based on context, the seriousness he's talking about is his level so it can be properly translated to "My Serious level". Level would be implied in this case.

Honestly, clearing a multiplayer level by finding an extremely convoluted clear condition is absolutely bonkers. That said, the clear condition is only attainable by one player because it wasn't a flagpole meaning the entire idea behind the level being 2v2 is flawed. Good job Simple. That was definitely one of the greatest uncleared level clears ever.

I was very inprested by the last level, I'm not sure how good of a level that actually is but forced multiplayer with such a roundabout solution was incredible, and that's also such a unique setup for multiplayer anyway, 99% of the multiplayer levels out there have each player do identical challenges and have the same pipe or door setup, I can only think of two off the top of my head that subvert this, the Mario Kart level you've played twice for Walkies and this older level I remember Foxen hating.
the coop level having a subpuzzle for beating it single player only to be a hidden block is crazy
