- A talk through some practical tactical navigation tips with Bill Stoker, a former US Marine and Infantry Senior NCO.
We talk about some of the factors and considerations that are important for tactical navigation in the field, drawing on a combined experience of over 50 years in this subject. This was filmed whilst out in the Sierra Nevada hills in California.

No, but I didn't have a 'normal' career. I spent 12 years in the Pathfinders, where we carried out HALO and HAHO jumps regularly, and 4 years in the Red Devils Freefall Team (the British version of the Golden Knights), where we carried out around 250-300 jumps a year. I've also continued jumping since leaving the military.

At over 200 jumps (approximately 150 static-line & 60 HALO), I thought that I had alot!!

Yes, you put the corner on the location you want to take a grid ref from and read back until you get to the grid line.
Learn to do the basics well.
