I'm currently in hospital and will be for another 2 weeks, I've been here since December 28th.. I thought I had a flu but same as you I got the dreaded blood clot in the right side of my neck and it travelled to my lungs. I came I to hospital so weak and a few hours later I was placed on a ventilator for the next 10 days. I had lemierre's severe sepsis and pneumonia, they drained 2 litres of pus from my left lung.. then I had to have surgery on that lung to clear it.. I've had to learn everything again, how to feed myself, how to walk.. I was a fit 27 year old woman and now I cant even stand for more than 10 minutes without feeling faint. But I am so so lucky because in a few months I'll be recovered when for a while I could have lost my life. We're all so unlucky yo have got it but lucky yo have made it ❤

My goodness. I had this a long time ago and it wasn't really resolved. Can I ask you why it had caused you to have to relearn how to take care of yourself and not even be able to stand for long periods of time?

My 19 year old daughter recently survived LS in november 2018. While I was sitting in her hospital room, while she was heavily sedated, and after the doctors diagnosised her with LS my husband found your video. I want to thank you for posting this video because it helped me understand what my daughter was experiencing and how to better advocate for her, when she couldn’t speak for herself. The day after watching your video, my daughter woke up and asked how much longer until she died. Because you explained the severity of the pain you experienced, I was able to look her in the face and honestly tell her she wasn’t going to die. I was able to encourage her to fight and know that she was going to beat this. Today she is back in college and healthy. Thank you for giving us hope while we were in a very dark place.

I had this when i was 15 years old. It was 2006. I was in CHEO in Canada, the journey threw this was crazy! My parents took me to CHEO 8 times, and then to the Queensway adult hospital. But by this time i was already dying. It took the doctors several days to figure out what was wrong with me they had to call in a Specialist from Toronto Children's Hospital and helicopter him in. They sat down at a desk with over 40 doctors all trying to figure pout what was wrong with me. I died the 3rd night in ICU ( in a isolation room), Luckily my heart started again and thats when they decided to do the meeting. They basically told my parents they had no idea what was wrong with me. Im so happy that you are educating people about the rare but yet deadly syndrome because it comes on super quick within a few hours i was very sick and then within a 1 week i was basically dying. So thank you for this!

I am in the hospital right now dealing with this. I got lucky that the blood clot didn’t go to my brain. But it did go to my lungs, I go to get it out this coming Monday 12/10/18 . Wish me luck. And if I’m still here and don’t forget, I’ll tell you how it went. If you want my story let me know.

It went to my lungs as well! I just got out of the hospital I was there for 3 weeks. My lungs collapsed, my organs went into failure, and my heart is always going fast. I’m on oxygen at home now, I’ll be on oxygen for a while. Buttttt I am alive and we are so lucky :)
