About a decade and change back, during senior yr of high school, my class completely fucked up their midterm exams prior to christmas break. When we returned in January, my history prof sat at the front of the class and straight roasted us for half an hour before starting the next lesson. I hadn't felt that vibe since, so cheers for that callback Kier. In all seriousness, great work on the vid, appreciate the direct readings from the literature. It was rather cowardly of Maresca today - it's easy to field the bomb squad in conference league but this was one of the first times where it felt like we'd see how much he "believed" in the players or the analytics team and it didn't make for good viewing. We were meant to take advantage of our softer Christmas schedule and squad health bc of conference league midweek games but we've thrown it away. Don't know what it means for January with FA cup games and eventual conference league quarters/semis. At least a +0.5 on ipswich is a lock if no squad rotation 😅
Tbf there were about 5 follow ups to the "technical decision" comment, in the press conference after the game. Didn't come out then but Noni apparently was late to a team meeting. You're right to point out the lack of rotation though, it's a big red flag. We've gotten away with it all season but if this continues if/ when we're in the CL, it could go very badly.
Some of the conversation around the bench has gone way overboard. pretending that felix isn't a guy who can do something against a midtable premier league table is insane even if he's not the elite forward people thought he'd be years ago. Also the madueke snub not having a good reason behind it would piss me off. I have no issue with managers calling out players in public but why is our best winger on the season the only one being scapegoated multiple times - now to the detriment of the team. overall maresca's done well but this stuff feels self inflicted

This was extremely cathartic, thank you.

Felix is a perfectly fine squad player, to pretend otherwise is ridiculous
