Very good video. I installed the exact lights but used the bigger transformer. They have been working for a good 3 years now. The only issue you will have is the connectors will start to corrode and cause the light to loose connection. My fix was to solder each connection directly to the wire. No more issues.
They say you can use with 12g but that is a really difficult thing to do. when you insert the wire into the connector it will widen the threaded portion making it impossible to thread on the fitting. I was kinda able to do it by using flat pliers to flatten the rubber insulation on the wire to make it a bit easier to fit, but that was iffy.
Hi there - please check the video linked below and go to the 25:00 mark and the 26:45 mark to see the deck lights. I will also be posting a video this week detailing how to easily solder on extensions. Thanks! ruclips.net/video/SzJOemNeQr8/видео.html
They are supposed to work with 12g wire but I had a hard time fitting them over the 14g wire I used. I think it just depends on the thickness of the wire jacket on the brand of wire that you use. You might have to experiment!
Thanks for the video, would it work with DEWENWILS 200W Outdoor Low Voltage Transformer with Timer and Photocell Sensor, 120V AC to 12V AC, Weatherproof, for Halogen & LED Landscape Lighting, Spotlight, Pathway Light, ETL Listed instead the 300W?
Any reason why my lights would turn off and on. I just installed it today 4 led lights running on a 300 watt power pack (Portofino). I check all the connections. It's connected with a 12 gauge cable 100 ft. Thx
I am not familiar with the Portofino transformer. Sounds like something may be wrong with it though! How long do the lights stay on before shutting off?
If all turn on and off at the same time, then probably back connection of the main landscape wire to the transformer box. Maybe accidentally clamped some of the insulation down along with the exposed inner wire when making connection to the 12v terminal in the transformer.
Yes you can use 16/2 wire but you won’t be able to add as many lights as I have and you won’t be able to have very far runs from the transformer. If you’re doing a small project, 16/2 will be fine. There are calculators online to help with wire gauge for landscape lighting. Hope this helps!
@@hanoveroakwho makes these lights? Where did you get them, they look to be made of aluminum and not to cheap. Are they LED or halogen? Do the connectors come with the lights? I’m hoping those connectors come in a silicone or grease type connector?
@@luvmybeemer The lights are made by SUNVIE - you can buy them on Amazon here - amzn.to/3G8Qzda They are LED and yes, the connectors come with the lights. They are not silicone but I have had them installed for 10 months with no issues whatsoever in rainy Florida. You can purchase silicone connectors separately that would probably last longer. Hope this helps!
We are in Florida and gets lots of rain. No issues so far! I have no problem swapping out the connectors every couple years if it becomes an issue. They are relatively inexpensive. I will have to take a look at the silicone connectors if we have problems down the road.
Very nice installation. Love all that tropical landscaping/lighting! Thanks for sharing!🌴🌿
Thank you!
I used the silicone connectors .And I installed my lights three years ago .no issues .
Thank you so much. The directions that came with the lights were confusing but you clarified it. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful. I learned alot. Don't think your old videos don't help people out cause they do! Thx
Thank you - glad it helped!
VERY helpful. Well explained. Got my lights working. Thank you.
Thanks - glad it helped!

Thank you! And thanks for the tip as well. That’s good to know about the connectors. :)

Looks amazing! Thanks for this very helpful video! 🎉
So the wire be exposed to the elements? Is it rated for that
Yes it is rated for outdoor use.
Great video. Do you if I could place led strip lights with that transformer?
Thanks! I think that should work fine as long as the LED strip lights are 12V. I have seen some that are 24V.
Thank you. You're my hero.
Sure - glad it helped!
Nice work can you show us your deck lights next. Thank you

Nice thanks for sharing this. I'm looking at maybe doing a eight pack.
Sure thing - glad it helped! Let me know if you have any questions when you start your install! :)
Well James, did you ever get around to doing it or is it still on the bucket list? Enquiring minds are dying to know
No I haven't gotten around to doing it to be honest I kind of forgot about it😅.
Maybe I'll get around to it this summer just haven't had the budget with this crazy economy right now
Nice job thanks , for the class
No problem!
Beautiful 👍
Thank you!
Great vid! Wasn't sure how to connect these and the instructions from China were not the best! Thx!
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Nice job!
Thank you!
Can you use these connectors for 12g wire? Any recommendations?

Yes, that would absolutely work. You just wouldn’t want to put more than 15 of the 12 watt lights on that size transformer.
@@hanoveroak thanks for such a prompt response
@@TheGenkaf Sure thing! Let me know if you need anymore help. :)
How do you terminate the end of the cable at the last light?
I tightly wrapped the end with electrical tape a few times.
Can't you just hook up the last light to the end of the wire and then waterproof it
👌👏👏
Thank you!! The directions sucked. Now this makes sense
Glad it helped!

@hanoveroak yes it does thank you 14/2 250 feet 24 lights... plus or minus found what you were talking about.. appreciate the feed back 👍
👏
Are all lights still working. Have had issues with my leonlite low voltage lights.
Yes all are still working great. Haven’t had any issues whatsoever!
@@hanoveroak at there price worth a shot. Am reluctant to invest in the volt lights.

No polarity?
Correct, no need to worry about polarity with low voltage landscape lighting.
