First of all, I am absolutely obsessed with your channel. I check DAILY for new videos lol I won't buy a sunscreen if I don't see it here. I have very dry/dehydrated skin but I HATE feeling like I have any sunscreen on. I use both the kao biore aqua rich essence first and then I reapply with the skin aqua super moisture gel. Its the perfect combo because I was noticing the skin aqua was drying me out when I used it alone and the biore was a little bit too heavy to reapply for me.
Great video, you're my go to for sunscreen recommendations for brown, oily skin. Thank you so much for measuring and showing what 1/4 tsp actually looks like.
I accidentally bought the Altruist normal sunscreen and not the face fluid but I absolutely love it. While it's a bit too moisturizing and shiny for my combo skin it dries down to be pretty wearable. When the face fluid comes back in stock I'm making sure to grab it bc I love the normal/body one so much

I find chemical ones so much more elegant to apply. Looking for a waterproof, high spf, long wearing, great under AND over makeup for reapplication. Does this exist or am I asking for a unicorn? 🙏🏼
Hello from Germany!! I love your channel and the content you share. That is why I turn to you to help me out with a question that I have in relation to mineral sunscreens. I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis and my extremely oily skin is also terribly sensitive. So I don't use makeup at all and my skincare routine is pretty minimal: cleanser + moisturizer + sunscreen. The sunscreen I use at the moment is chemical (Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel spf50 PA ++++). I feel that it does not irritate my skin despite containing 6 filters, but my skin feels a bit hot after the application and sometimes during the day, also when I work for a long time at the computer my skin becomes red, which gives me to think that it does not protect from blue rays or infrared light. As for physical sunscreens, I tend not to prefer them because they are generally oily, heavy, the white cast they leave behind is terrible and they tend to accumulate in my already super-enlarged pores. I have been trying Clinique spf 30/50 mineral sunscreen (the 50 is slightly heavier), I like it because it has few ingredients, it is easy to spread and it is not so terrible in the first application, but after several reapplications I become a ghost!!. However, I noticed something particular that I had not experienced with chemical sunscreens, and that is that my skin did not feel hot or red at any time of the day, even when working in front of the computer for several hours. So my question is: How to reapply a mineral sunscreen when not wearing makeup? or how to counteract the whitish effect with these sunscreens? I know the importance of using tinted sunscreens vs. untinted sunscreens, because they provide superior protection. My question has always been on how to use this type of sunscrees, since a generous amount must be applied to obtain good protection and with a mineral tinted spf, well... I don't know, I wouldn't know how to make them work. I would appreciate any kind of help you can give me. Thank you!!
Honestly i feel like your no. 1 issue to tackle is dehydrated skin or barrier function. I used to think that i have a very sensitive skin, thinking it was normal and every chemical sunscreen stung. Turned out, my skin was just super dehydrated and once i got my barrier function back to normal i can even use alcohol on my face now. Also, ur screens dont emit enough blue light/IR to get you burned/turned red. I feel like those can be one of the symptoms from dehydrated skin, as well as hot flashes you get whenever you apply sunscreens. x
That sand resistant claim sounds silly but it does matter big time. It’s not fun to reapply an emollient and sticky sunscreen with sand! I used bioderma’s family milk and the sand sticks to it big time. I got some rashes around my neck because of the gritty sand while i’m reapplying the sunscreen. I just use the shakka fluid for reapplication on my neck and face.
Have you tried the ANTHELIOS XL WET SKIN SUNSCREEN SPF50+. I find it very greasy. Maybe like 8.7 / 10. If you have, how'd you compare it to the Altrust sunscreen spf 50 100ml and to the Riemann P20 kids spf 50+ IN TERMS OF GREASINES, SHININES..
Oh. I’m in my car just waiting to go in to see my dermatologist I have been doing Hair Laser removal. And she is always so nicely surprised for the amount of different spf...
Will you be doing a body sunscreen video? I've been looking for water resistant sunscreens without avobenzone so I can wear cute clothes to the beach without worrying about staining them this summer 🥺
I wasn't aware that avobenzone was the culprit of that!! :O Is it just avobenzone or is there any other filter/ingredient you know of doing that aswell?
@@jacquelinekranjcevic8193 From what I've heard it's mostly avobenzone, but I THINK I've heard that oxybenzone is capable of it too? Don't quote me on that though, not too sure on that one ^^; I've heard people say mineral ones can also potentially get stuck in fabric as well but I've never had that problem myself!
Isn't there a risk of negative interaction when you layer two different sunscreens?
3 года назад+5
The only negative interaction I’ve been made aware of is with mixing chemical and physical sunscreens, and that primarily has to with uncoated mineral filters (I think it’s primarily zinc) speeding up the degradation of avobenzone. As long as you’re just layering and letting each layer prior set, I don’t see their being much of a issue
Hi - Love this roundup. Does BGS baby spf 50 have good UVA protection? I love using it but now I’m worried that it doesn’t offer enough protection as I’m very fair skinned. Thanks so much!

Oh it’s a fabulous option that offers great protection (SPF 50+, 4-star boots rating), it just wasn’t water resistant so I excluded it in this video, but still a great option
@ Oh, when I asked them (The brand) on instsgram, they told me it was water resistant so now I'm like wtff? Well it feels like heaven on the skin so I must have thought about not being water resistant
We can’t get most of these in the USA. Lame!! I don’t get it what’s the fda problem. None of their business what we apply on our face😠

Not directly, but I provided links for most it not all to that ship to the US! it has to do that since sunscreen actives are drugs, drugs need to generally provide animal based testing results to show safety
can i use the bioree one. i have oily acne prone skin.i am confused a lot of people are saying it's not suitable for oily skin 1.i wasn't going out much for last 1 years but now i have to go out regularly and my skin produces the most oil. 2.i actually need sweat proof ( i hate sweat+pil mix) 3.i don't like the shiny / dewy feeling much
Hmm, I don’t find the Skin Aqua Gel to be water-resistant on me. It comes off really easily with sweat or when it’s lightly drizzling out. The Gel Gold is slightly better, but still not quite. I hope Rohto will keep improving on this line like it has.
It's supposed to be a very lightweight everyday sunscreen, no way for working out or outdoors whatsoever. These light sunscreens in Japan are labeled water resistant I think because of the humidity of Japan. In practice, I wouldn't rely on it for anything besides staying indoors by big windows. Even for very light usage, I have skin very prone to tanning and sunspots (sun damage), and have tanned with this one.
You can try Sheisedo perfect wetforce spf 50+, it is expensive but gives high protection even if you sweat because wet force technology is used so that sunscreen doesn't get ineffective due to sweating. Suntique I'm pure cica sunscreen is also doesn't wash off in sweat. And don't rub your face when you will sweat , you should dab or press tissue so that sunscreen doesn't come off in huge amount and try to put more than required amount of sunscreen in first application so it will remain even after sweat while you will go to work because in reapplication it is not always possible to put proper amount of spf.
Hi I’ve been using the Abib spf 50 PA ++++ stick sunscreen on my skin over my sunscreen I apply in the morning to reapply. I just wanted to know if the ingredients in it are actually providing a good protection for my skin.
The Jack Black sunscreen is not matte or oil absorbing on me whatsoever. Its alright though, but I ways have to powder it down to wear powder foundation on top. The only matte water resistant sunscreen I have come across is the Neutrogena Break out free; which ironically breaks me out if I use it too many days in a row.
Well you do have three on here specifically calling out they’re made for kids. Most of them of are alcohol free and quite a few are good for sensitive skin

Not directly, but I provided links for most it not all to that ship to the US!
it has to do that since sunscreen actives are drugs, drugs need to generally provide animal based testing results to show safety
can i use the bioree one. i have oily acne prone skin.i am confused a lot of people are saying it's not suitable for oily skin
1.i wasn't going out much for last 1 years but now i have to go out regularly and my skin produces the most oil.
2.i actually need sweat proof ( i hate sweat+pil mix)
3.i don't like the shiny / dewy feeling much
Ramon can you give suggestions for comfortable body sunscreen for tan/dark skin tones. For when out at the beach or water parks.
You know what, Dr Dray just recommended Bondi Sans, she said it's super light and disappears on the skin and it's brown skin friendly
🌟
Hmm, I don’t find the Skin Aqua Gel to be water-resistant on me. It comes off really easily with sweat or when it’s lightly drizzling out. The Gel Gold is slightly better, but still not quite. I hope Rohto will keep improving on this line like it has.
I have the same issue with Skin Aqua when I wear makeup. I prefer the Athlizm version so much more!
Excuse me I missed your "hello friends" :/
Hi I’ve been using the Abib spf 50 PA ++++ stick sunscreen on my skin over my sunscreen I apply in the morning to reapply. I just wanted to know if the ingredients in it are actually providing a good protection for my skin.
I appreciate you so much. Thank you SO MUCH.
Pls review the Shiseido Uv factor protector sunscreen line ♥️
The Jack Black sunscreen is not matte or oil absorbing on me whatsoever. Its alright though, but I ways have to powder it down to wear powder foundation on top. The only matte water resistant sunscreen I have come across is the Neutrogena Break out free; which ironically breaks me out if I use it too many days in a row.
I love the Jack Black. It's such a light texture!
@@FourJaysFour you must live somewhere cool/cold/dry or have normal to dry skin. Sans those elements, its not that light. But its not bad, I agree.
Sunscreen goat yeaaa
Are these good for kids ?
Well you do have three on here specifically calling out they’re made for kids. Most of them of are alcohol free and quite a few are good for sensitive skin
@Glow By Ramón thank you so much Ramon :)
